Timeshare Misrepresentation
On 11/12/2008 my husband and I attended a presentation conducted by Vacation Ventures. We were told the horrors of trying to sell or rent our existing timeshare. We paid them a total of $3, 410.00. to transfer ownership to them. They offered to transfer ownership of the timeshare to Vacation Ventures. We just needed to pay them $3, 410.00 to cover all the expenses fo recording the deed, etc. We would be able to be refunded the total aount paid by filing our Federal income tax. Tax preparer had no clue and had never heard of such a thing!! Their representative Jim Ritchey assured us that Vacation Ventures would take care of the 2009 maintenance fee ( he asked for and we presented him with a copy of this bill). We would then relinquish all rights to the timeshare . After many conversations with an assistant at their Colorado Springs office (each time I called - someone elseworked there) - I was told that I had to pay all maintenance fees and that they would then reimburse me. I faxed over copies of the paid fees - each time being told that my file was on the top and I would be refunded soon. To date they have refunded me no maintenance fees and the deed is still in our name - ($1, 207.45 - 2009/2010 fees that were paid by me. Now it is time to pay the 2011 fees (3 years later). As per the timeshare company Pueblo Bonito in @ Emerald Bay in Mazatlan Mexico - we are still the owners and that the property has NOT been conveyed or assigned or transferred to Vacation Ventures, LLC. Is there any possiblity of obtaining any of our money back - how should I proceed with a claim against them?
