I stopped in to get some air in my tire at the stations air machine.
The machine doesnt have any information on it, no signs, no stickers, no prices, nothing...
I put in .75 cents, because thats what most of them cost, the ones that arent free anyway.
I put in my money and pressed the button and nothing happened.
I went in to tell the clerk I put in my money and nothing happened, and he just looked at me and said, "I guess it dont work then". I waited for him to offer to give me my money back and he just started talking to his friend there and ignored me.
This is the sign of a scam going on!
DONT USE THIS GAS STATION!!!
A lot of gas stations will "fix" thier air machines to NOT work and take the signs off them, so they can make extra money from people who dont know any different.
The two main signs of a scam going on is:
1. No signs on the air machine, or they are scratched off. (but not always) There will never be a sign on there stating that the machine is out of order though.
2. The cashier will not give you a refund.
If the cashier refuses to give a refund, then I know its a scam going on.
Any reputable and honest gas station will be happy to give you back the money you put in the machine if it isnt working.
