I began seeing charges from this company after using Intelius to search for someone. I used it twice and was billed the regular 4.99 which was fine. I didn't catch the charges from ValueMax until quite a while later though. Also I began getting billed by this company 24ProtectPlus which is really the same thing as ValueMax. I thought I only got billed 19.95 twice, one from each company. So I called 24ProtectPlus to cancel my membership and get a refund. They said they would refund me my 19.95. I called ValueMax and the guy on the other end answered saying "24ProtectPlus." He told me they were the same company and that both my memberships were cancelled. I thought everything was fine after this. After all it was only 40.00 and I was getting a refund.

Well just out of curiousity I looked at my online statement all the way back to when I used Intelius. Turns out both companies had been billing me each month. I had 3 charges of $19.95 from each company. Instead of going to them I went straight to the BBB and complained. That was 2 days ago. Now I just got an email from both ValueMax and 24ProtectPlus saying they will refund me completely.
