Vance Peyton Miller - formely of Advance LA in the West Hollywood area work hard to rip off women and some men. They falsely project themselves as having national connections when they only possess local clout over flea market tables where they advertise. They talk up a storm and have amazing and mindblowing literature when here are the facts:
The jobs they have you could get on your own by sending a headshot or visiting a bridal shop or fashion director yourself. Real agents, managers, producers, etc., don't advertise, they have people banging on their doors and don't need to, YOU need them, THEY don't need you (do you see Steven Speilberg out begging door to door for new actors?), BUT, these people recruit like MAD!
And you thought the military was an Army of One, these people are an army of thousands! They chase people at fairs and hound people at supermarkets. Too scared to venture outdoors? They will stuff your mailbox and even hire other desperate 'models' and pay them peanuts to recruit other 'models' who will also make peanuts to recruit others for peanuts and so forth (anyone smell a pyramid scheme?). Each model is given her ration of peanuts out of the companies much larger earnings.
They charge you $1, 200 (inflates yearly) just to join and that does not include your pictures, printing cost and portfolio! They tell you that today is the only day they can accept your look but can magically convince the entire industry to wait a week when they find out you get paid next Friday, but soon your look will no longer be needed (the industry changes so fast you know, so 'fast' that height has only been a factor in modeling for 20 years staight). That is a LIE! Hurry, hurry, hurry, don't think, just buy, buy, buy, spend, spend, spend is their motto.
Vance is not picky, he takes people HOURLY, look-alikes, dress alikes, not alike, doesn't matter, just make sure you have your SIX HUNDRED DOLLAR non-refundable deposit. He will most certainly 'turn' people away at a group meeting to give the appearance that they are selective, but those people are later invited back to a class a different day and time than yours, just bring your CHECKBOOK! Did I mention they take checks?
Vance will feed you an AMAZING, JAW DROPPING, PROUD, job placement rate of around 93%, which is higher than all of California! Wow! Really? So why aren't any elected officials banging on their door for economic advice?
What they DON'T tell you is that their high percent includes EVERYONE. Even the 'models' that only got 1 job and made $40 the entire year. That still counts as a job, and mathematically it does, but economically it is wrong and INTENTIONALLY misleading.
I have talked to girls all over LA (probably all over the USA) who have lost THOUSANDS to Vance and his criminal associates and just go into hiding hoping no one will find out. You will never, ever, ever, make what you spent here. Take your money to Chase Bank and put it in savings account and instead look up the words "Vance Peyton Miller" and "Advance LA West Hollywood, CA" on google while your money grows in a safer place.
Then they will shower you with beautiful tales of IMTA, where you are so beautiful people will pay to look at you. No. Wait. YOU pay THEM. They drag people from all over to get ripped off of $4, 000 per person and $3, 000 for parents who aren't even contestants.
I saw desperate families of three smash credit cards together and come up with $11, 000. After all, those six figure contracts they tease you with will more than cover it. Right. Kids? There are maybe 4, 000 people per year that attend IMTA and they have barely made more than 8 well known stars from this 'convention' in a decade and who is to say these stars got their real lead there.
Do not fall for it. A website should be up in July for those who want to join in on a lawsuit and also a public awareness team. I will keep you posted.
