price hike
Had cash and ready to buy, online price was $19, 000. Sales dept. said the car cost $20, 000. I tried to negotiate and they would not budge one penny. I confronted them with their own online listing and they went into defense mode. They said it was a mistake and their sorry, even emailed next day trying to "honor" internet price. There is no honor here and certainly no shame in trying to rip-off young professionals such as myself. Car had plenty of bargaining chips but these idiots were trying to take me for all I had...not to mention being to dumb to know they all ready listed car for much cheaper. Just lousy people and the reason car sales people have horrible reputation.

Bait & Switch
On Wednesday, April 13, 2010, Bill Chapman, the Used Car Director quoted a price on a car my sixteen year old son found on the web dealership's page via e-mail. The dealership quoted a price $17, 999 and even offered to honor the price through the weekend. My son and his mother went to the dealership the next day, looked at the car, and agreed to purchase it for $17, 999. Then they filled out all the paper work and agreed to take delivery the next day. The dealership stated they would detail the car and have it waiting under the awning for delivery. The next day I called and was told by Bill they had quoted the price to us on a differnt car, having "transposed the stock number" and the new price would be $19, 999 or $2, 000 higher. When they found this oput was unclear but we received no call, e-mail, or any other communication and were on the way to the dealership. I asked to speak with the GM and was told he was out of town. Bill told me we didn't have a legally binding contract and that there was nothing he could do for me. I agreed and stated " that if we had there wouldn't be a problem but we were talking about what the right thing to do was. As I pressed to speak to the GM, Bill finally offered to sell me the car we had been discussing the whole time at his cost of $18, 363. I agreed to the compromise because my son was so excited about his first car, and told him I would be in the next day to take delivery. When we got to the dealership the next day we found out that Bill had sold our car to another party ten minutes after we got off the phone. No phone call, no e-mail, no communication again, although Bill had my contact information. I have never witnessed a more callous or unethical treatment of a customer in my life.

Worse Customer Service Experience
I will say the following, my only pleasant experience throughout my car purchase was my sales guy, James Mitchell. After that, they rained a s**t-storm on me.
First off, the young lady in the finance dept mislead me to sign up for a "free" program that would allow me to pay less interest and pay off the loan faster. NOT THE CASE! I have to pay close to $400 to get out of that program.
The dealership signed a "We Owe" contract where certain blemished on the vehicle would be fixed, per the contract agreement. One month after purchasing my vehicle, they had a loaner vehicle ready for me. Two weeks from that date, I receive one single message from their sales manager stating they would be reporting the car stolen if I did not return it that day!!! Really? The "gentleman" was rude and practically accused me of stealing.
To make matters worse, the repairs made to my vehicle were made half-@$$, you could still see the dings and the obvious rear bumper scratches were not even addressed.
It is obvious the customer service at this location ends the moment you put the pen to the sales agreement.
IT'S PEOPLE LIKE THE ONES AT VANDERGRIFF ACURA THAT MAKE PURCHASING A VEHICLE A HASSLE AND IN MY CASE, A NIGHTMARE!

sneaky liars
The worst expierence I could imagine...After an agreed reasonable price, we put in for banks approval
but apparently there were "difficulties encountered" so we were left hanging (with hopes of becoming desperate im sure from vandergriff) for 5 days. finally when they told us of our approvel, we drove all the way out there to find out the "GENEROUS" offer was not so generous.the manager attempted to feed us some story as to why they were rasing the price $2, 500. there were so many lies involved, they couldnt even keep up with them because the story kept changing. And the manager started sounding as if he were talking in riddles, really thinking we were that ignorant to his blatant lies . WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. the salesman also told us he made no commsion because he was a manager who was over the internet part of the used car dept, which after some investigation we found out to be a lie. there were so many unnecessary lies we found out after the fact, im so glad we walked out without making possibly the worst financial mistake of my life... the people there made it out to be as if they were doing you a favor...disrepectful.. rude... WASTE OF TIME.

Inefficient Service
My husband's Acura RL was towed from his job to this dealership because it would not start. The service team said it was due to a relay switch and needed an alignment, too. We were under the assumption the vehicle would be ready the same day since the service staff did not mention that it would be ready next day. So before closing time, my husband called to get a status. But spoke to the receptionist who said everyone from service had already left for the day. He asked the receptionist to take a message and gave his call back number.
The second day, it was nearly 4:00 pm and still no call back from the service team. So I called and found out that they had been repeatedly been trying to contact my husband using the wrong phone number. Please keep in mind that we purchased and serviced our vehicle at this dealership for 5 years. Wouldn't you think they would check their customers records to contact the owner?
All I have to say is we have no tolerance for incompetence. And apparently poor customer service is what you will receive if you do business with Vandergriff Acura.

Unscrupulous Sales Practice
Fair warning to all who enter:
Twice I have attempted to purchase a vehicle from this dealership, and I would not send my worst enemy here. Do not sign until you have read every word on every contract, check all of their math, and shop shop shop their offers! Never sign without comparing to other dealers' offers it will always cost you and it is the ONLY way to negotiate fairly. After agreeing to a vehicle's price (new car purchase), written on paper, I quickly discovered in reading the contract right before I signed, they increased the price by more than $4, 000 above sticker!!! When I started asking questions the finance guy got nervous and his manager came in to "clear up the mistake". They tried to get out of the deal, but since I had it in black and white in THEIR handwriting they eventually agreed. Unbelievable! Essentially they attempted to sell the car for one price on a purchase and were attempting to lease it for a much higher price - working the monthly payment. Do your research, come prepared to walk away, check their math, read all documents - then and only then sign on the dotted line! I will never do business there again (sales or service) and recommend to not do business.

Rip off , Worse service
To whom might concern,
I like to comment about couple person in vandergrif dealer. First of all is the finance personel Chelsea, She more likely forced customer to buy services, skip all the explaination, hurry not to go through detail for customer to understand For Example the Uniseal she told me that the car would need to put the uniseal on to protect the paint, so we bought the services, but the time we brought the car to put uniseal on they say the car is already had it when it arrived dealer, Why would I Paid extra money for something is already had, I like to cancel Uniseal, they say it is nonrefunable, This is a rip off . Any body who have good credit will benefit the promotion, but she said I was not meet requirement, while TX law only require 693 point credit, my credit was above that figure. I came back the next day try to cancel extended warranty but she gave me the heck of hard time.
The second person is Ryan. This guy is worser than chelsea, he did not know how to talk to customer, he did not have any people skill at all. He also insulting the customer. There is no cure for this Ryan guy... I think in future this team will hurting the business, They not only driving all the customers away, but also family members, friends, co-workers. Where are your reputations? Pride? To be honest with you with this kind of services I won't come back or refer, on top of that I will let all people I know about how they treat me. I'm the one who bring money and business to them, they're not honest people even though I understand their point try to sell ( not to force ). I hope these problems will be solve in the future, so the other customers feel comfortable to making business with Vandergrif. I still have come back couples more times to this location, I keep an eye on it. They will walk off the customer when they don't want to conduct service from saleman to store mannager.
