I am the Director of Finance for one of the Deans at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond VA. One of our unit's employees got behind on a personal bill that PBC of Maryland is pursuing collection of including making random calls to various VCU offices and personnel in an attempt to get VCU to pay the bill. These actions ceased for a couple of months after I made contact with the organization and provided my contact information, role description and an opportunity to provide source documentation demonstrating it as a VCU/work-related liabilty. None was provided and this month PBC has contacted yet another office in a similar attempt. After investigating the matter fully here, I learn from the employee - and based on their business approach, have no reason to doubt it as accurate - that one representative of PBC verbally reached an agreement for the employee to pay $100/month until the outstanding balance was resolved. The employee demonstrated that she was in fact proceeding according to this plan. However, these collection efforts have then subsequently continued.
