I recently applied for a loan modification. Lost my job and had put my house up for sale. I was approved, even had a buyer for the house but they approved the loan modification, I signed the papers on Nov. 6th, sent them back, did not hear from them, received papers in the mail w/o a cover sheet raising payment to only $89 less than I originally pay. (Forced insurance - I live in a condo and already pay insurance yearly). I requested they send me the papers again I did not have them at my work. They sent me the oriignal papers but these papers showed where I had signed on Nov. 6th and were they had signed (not dated) - this is a FULLY executed document! They omitted the sheet with the figures showing the amount of monthly payment. They again emailed me ANOTHER document without again the same amount but rearranged the escrow figure and other expenses.
My daughter spoke with them and they said they had made a mistake and realized it on Nov. 1st. They sent my documents to me on Nov. 2nd and requested them back on Nov. 6th. We asked to speak to a supervisor, no one in, their legal department, no one in and someone was to call us - no one has called to date. They emailed me last week on signing the papers and I told them I had contacted state and federal agencies as well as an attorney since I have a fully executed loan modification document. Haven't hear from them but did hear from an attorney in our town representing a law firm handling the foreclosure - wanting me to ackowledge I have received the documents for the seizure of my property. I am waiting to hear from my attorney. I'm not sure if they can do this or not. I had a sale for the house and expected everything was okay. If I lose my home I have every intention of going forth and doing whatever I can legally possible to bring the practices of this company public. My loan is being handled by Veriquest who is held by CIT. I have been in touch with the Attorney General Office in my state and have been directed to the Office of Financial Institutions.
