Verizon credit reporting and administration in general are the biggest bunch of incompetent losers ever. I hate that the actual products they offer are good. That is probably why they feel they can treat customers and former customers the way they do. Here is what happened...
First off, the only reason I opened an account with them in the first place was because they insisted that DSL was going to work at my home location. After literally months of problems, they finally decide that DSL is no good at my home location. Thanks alot. So I close my account. I have some questions about my final bill, so I ask them through e-mail. I get an e-mail back with an explanation, and the e-mail is closed with a line saying "Another final bill will be sent to you within 2 weeks." I thought it odd that nothing changed about my bill but they were going to send me another one. But, that's what they said so I decided to just wait for the new bill and then pay it. About 2 weeks later, instead of a final bill, I get a notice from a credit agency saying my account is delinquent. I don't get too excited, I figure that this was just a misunderstanding and that I will call Verizon tomorrow and clear this all up. Imagine my surprise when they start being very difficult on the phone. I call numerous times, same result. They say no. They don't care that I was told false information by one of their employees. They refuse to take responsibility for their own employee. What kind of company is this?
Here is the bottom line, I was given false information by one of their employees. If this information had not been given to me, none of this would have ever happened. Therefore, it's very clear to me that they should remove the mark they put on my credit report. It's quite simple really. I am dumbfounded that they continue to refuse.
