I reported the phone stolen to Verizon and was told I would not be responsible for any charges that the thief accrued. The bill arrived with $600 in charges for ring tones that were downloaded the night before the phone was reported stolen. Verizon's customer service manager said I was still responsible for the charges. Now that's what I call customer service! Verizon demonstrated their true sense of greed when they realized they could make an addition $600 dollars and make their customer into a victim. That's really what Verizon did, they victimized me. A police investigation for the theft is underway and the student who stole my daughters phone downloaded over 120 songs, ring tones and games within 1 hour and 20 minutes. Apparently, purchasing $600 in in 1.5hrs on an account that never makes additional purchases won''t raise any flags with Verizon since they're just looking and salivating at the money they will force the victim to pay. When I asked if I could cancel my contract, the customer service manager smugly, and he was really being smug, said I would be charged an additional $140 per phone. Having three phones, they wanted to charge me an additional $420 beyond what the $600 charged by the thief. DO NOT USE VERIZON FOR ANYTHING. THEY WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY!!!
