Verizon Online Reviews

unauthorized automated charges
I cancelled my verizon online account over 2 years ago and still have an autopayment withdrawn from my account every month for $50. Cannot reach anyone by phone and have received no response from their customer center to my email demanding a balance be given. No balance s ever given to me so there is never an amount due shown, or any record at all except for the amount withdrawn from my account.
This is theft and they have done absolutely nothing to correct the situation. Now I have to change my bank account information and may never recover the $1200 paid to date???
I will never enroll in automatic bill payments online ever again.

Service not received
Verizon telephone order taker said cancellation of my DSL service (Verizon online) would be triggered by disconnect of my Verizon telephone physical landline.

DSL is delivered on a landline.

Two weeks after removing the landline, I received a credit card bill with full DSL charge.

Verizon Online refused to prorate a refund back to date of landline removal, even though it was physcically impossible for me to have used the DSL service after removal of the landline.

Overbilling
Verizon online sent me a letter Feb 08 stating my service had been terminated. Fine. I requested this be done. It's now June 08 and I am being charged $31.99/month totaling $186.63 for Internet access that was terminated. I've called their 800 number but the Verizon operators don't document my calls to cancel the service. I've sent two letters to Verizon. No response except to call the 800 number again. They will never get a dime from me for service they have not provided. I will wind up with credit problems but I am keeping copies of the letters I sent to Verizon corporate and Verizon Billing.

The moral to the story: Don't use Verizon Online services!

Scam artists
So I moved. Verizon makes that simple right? Wrong. First off I had my mobile phone and internet on one bill. Told verizon online about the move. They never told the mobile side. So my bill got split into two and my auto bill pay was deactivated on the mobile side. They came looking after 3.5 months. I thought it was auto paid, but wasn't so I had to pay a monster bill. So on to the online side. Because they ended my service and started a new one instead of processing it as a move, I had to wait 3 weeks to get hooked up. Then they gave me another router. I told them I already had one and they said use both of 'em... they're free. Ok. So I moved again, this time out of state. I ended my service and they said they'd send me return boxes for the equipment. I never got them, nor did my old roommate who still lives there. So after multiple calls, transfers, hangups, transfers, hangups... I finally got some competency, sorta. They sent me one box, and notice of claims sent to AFNI for collections. YAY!!! Verizon paid me for the returned router to payoff AFNI because 'we [AFNI] cannot take this back from being reported to the bureau's'. So I called got the whole transfer runaround again and had the second box sent to me. Sent the equipment. After hours of time on the phone with them, I got them to confirm they received the returned equipment, though they refuse to payoff the second AFNI amount because... they can't. Let that sink in... THEY DID IT BEFORE!!! So here I am, did everything I could, and had a bad rap on my credit report for when I applied for my loan to buy my first house resulting in a not as good deal because my score was literally 2 points lower than the banks standard for the promotion I wanted. I hate Verizon. They make you pay for their incompetencies.

Annoying daily calls
I have been a loyal customer of Verizon since arriving back in the country in 2004. For the past few weeks, I have been receiving daily telephone solicitations for me to internet service (800)567-6789. Sometime it occurs 2 times a day. I keep on telling them the service is not available in the area.

This is forcing me into making a decision to discontinue Verizon phone service for lack of action for them to take me off their do not call list. I have made phone calls being transferred to one department and then to another. Lately I just ask for the manager, and I still get daily phone calls. I am a member to the National Do Not Call Registry. I was told by Verizon that calls are permitted from companies with which you have an existing business relationship under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) of 1991.

In fact if you tell them no to call they must honor it or face up to $11,000 fine for each occurrence. I got the Better Business Bureau involved and the FTC involved now. Maybe they will stop calling.
