I have been a customer of Verizon Wireless for 11 years. I purchsed a hands free device in January of 11 because my state mandated hands free while driving. My phone was not blue tooth equipped because it was 5 years old. 3 weeks later my phone started acting up, could not find towers, would leave me with no signal, which was not normal. I took the phone in to a verizon store away from my home to see if they could fix the problem. They said it was the phone it was old and I needed a new one. I waited until I got back home and went to my local store where I got my phone, they reprogrammed it and told me to try it. I still had problems, so I went back to MY store. I brought with me the UNOPENED and UNUSED headset and told them I wanted to get a NEW phone and I would sign a contract, but, I wanted to return the hands free device and have that $30 credited towards a new phone. They said NO. I had a 14 day return policy and it was past my 14 days to return it. I asked for the store manager, but they would NOT come and talk to me. I asked the sales rep to ask the manager if they were going to let a $30 acc. cost them me as a customer. The sales rep left and came back and said they would not return the acc. it was past the 14 days. What kind of customer service is this to someone who has been with them for 11 years. I did not want cash back all I wanted was to put the $30 towards the cost of my new phone. I am now looking for a new wireless provider and would not suggest anyone use Verizon Wireless

terribley rude service
I just had such a shocking experience at the Verizon Wireless store run by United Telecom on union turnpike in Fresh Meadows.
My phone's screen had stopped working and i had my phone replaced by the insurance company. When i entered the store to have my contacts and pictures transferred, the lady asked that i wait until she was finished with the other customers. When she finally got to me she charged me $10 for the transfer and then she started the transfer. During the transfer, while the pictures were being transferred, she decided she didn't want to complete the process. she then yanked the phone out and told me that i had to come back the next day!
The rudeness of how she abruptly pulled out the cord and slammed the phone on the counter telling me to return tomorrow is something that is hard for me to comprehend or explain fully.
When i demanded to speak to the store owner, she put some guy on the phone who sounded like her boyfriend more than he did a business owner who cares about his customers.
I am shocked that Verizon allows such low standards of service and obviously has no inspection of their independent store operators.
This happened on 12-08-09 at 7:25 pm and the name on the receipt is Tulip Sharma

No honoring prices or discounts
Verizon lets its customers know of special offers, promotions and discounts by text or mail.
The Verizon store in Yuma, Az never seems to want to honor any of these. We have been in several times wanting to use these promotions/discounts and the rude and incompetent employees will look at us like "what are you talking about" or will say "sorry, we don't see that promotion anywhere listed here". They won't even say "we can match it" or "let me see what we can do".
So we walk out frustrated and angry and call the 800 Verizon number and order what we need without any hassles or problems.
Now we know, don't step foot in that store, they are a bunch of idiots. Best to order from the Verizon 800 number, hassle free.
I feel like reporting this store to the state attorney general or the bbb for not honoring discounts/promotions from its mother company.
