My name is Victoria Lawson and I work in the Default Prevention Department. I work for Everest University. I'm very sorry about your complaints. However I don't know you exact situation so there is no way I could help fix anything. However if students are having problems with their student loans from Sallie Mae or ACS (etc.) they can call me or call their lender. There are programs that help students when they are not able to pay any money. I'm a single mother of 2 as well, and I couldn't imagine being in debt right now. I understand everyone's frustrations, but I'm only trying to help the only way I know how.
If you owe money and you keep recieving calls from Everest University or you lenders...it's not always a bad thing! I work in a Department where we don't want your money. We want to help educate you about your options.
There are programs such as Forbearance, Unemployment Deferment, Economic Hardship Deferment, and Income-based repayment plan. These programs help suspend your payment up to a year. I'm very sorry for everyone who feels like they have been used or feel like they are below water with no help. I'm here to help you if you would like my help. I know some of you are skeptical on accepting any help from someone who works for Everest, but I'm not the one who tried to get you to go to Everest. I'm just the person trying to let students know It's ok! If you have questions or want to know more please email or call me and I would be happy to do EVERYTHING I can for you! :)
