We had purchased a Videocon Integra 27 LCD set in August 2007.
There was problem in the set during early April, 2010.The set was taken by the service station.They reportedly changed a spare part in the set and delivered the set back.They charged Rs.2800 for the part, Rs.700 service charge & Rs.350 as transportation charge.
The similar defect revived in the set during end of May(the screen becomes white though audio remains clear).
I took the set to the service station (M/S Shreesh Touch) and requested them to look into the matter.They said there is some panel problem which normally is difficult to rectify.They advised me to replace the existing set with a new one.However they gave me a temporary standby set (an ordinary one) while they repair my TV.
Till date they have not contacted me and it is nearly 2 months now, though I rang them several times.
It is very surprising and not at all funny that a brand like Videocon which claims to be an MNC renders this type of after sales service. Advising the customer to replace a LCD worth Rs 25k in a period of less than 3 years is not the marketing policy of any MNC.
If this is how you provide after sales then I can assume that the quality of your products are substandard or your Service centers are substandard or both are substandard.
Now that I have already incurred a loss of 25k by making a wrong decision of buying your product, I will revert to my time tested Sony gadgets and also spread the word around to my friends and colleagues (a sizeable group) about your excellent MNC standard products and after sales service.Your product and service has been an eye opener for me never to experiment with local brands.
This excellent experience of mine only proves that you are just one of those DESI companies.
