I was extremely excited by being hired by Virgin America Airlines, but that was short lived. They don't tell you about their INTENSE training until after your are hired. Virgin's motto is "Elevate, Create Wow, and Be Virgin" non of which they do for their employees. During training you must pass each test with 90% or better (makes sense), if you fail a test you have the option of retaking a test 3 times, but you must pass with 100% (again makes sense). What doesn't make sense is that many of the questions are trick questions and answers have to be exact. (meaning no mis-spellings are counted as wrong after being told spelling won't be an issue, they ask for a work answer when they require a statement answer and many other problems with training). So this to me is NOT Elevating new employees to succeed. The pay is low for what you have to go through and just not worth the effort. They operate with threats and scare tactics. Again, not creating wow, or elevating anyone. The only true statement about the motto is "Be Virgin" and that simply means take their abuse while working for this company. Please reconsider your options when applying for Virgin American Airlines. A real disappointment!
