Having been with Telewest for telephone, Tv and broadband for many years, without complaint. We now find ourselves at the mercy of Virgin. What a disaster!!! As my broadband service was very slow through the set top box, I was persuaded by customer care to upgrade and receive broadband through a modem, with promises of a really fast service. That was way back in JULY.
Since then I rarely am able to access the internet, unless I get up at 1 or 2 am. It took 5 engineers to discover that as I am on a shared line, they need to install a dedicated line. Many phone calls later, the latest "problem" is that having thought that they needed to dig up some pavement outside our house, today 3 months down the line, its the road they need to dig up, for which of course they need permission from the local council. They are unwilling or unable to give me the planning application no. so that I can chase my local town hall.
It is very difficult to speak to any body in this country, or who speaks or understands English. Yesterday our telephone service ceased to function. Trying to explain to somebody in India, who because he could not understand, kept insisting that he was being given the wrong telephone number. It took at least 5 attempts to reach somebody in the UK. Who cannot arrange for an engineer to call until at least next Tues.
Still they take our money, well done Richard no wonder you are so rich!
