Sold contract under false pretense
Hubby was called by Thuso from VIRGIN MOBILE selling him a contract. Hubby was not happy with the phone that was offered he then inquired on the N97. Thuso initially said this phone was not available, however called back a day later and explained the we could get this phone on a R199 contract. After asking Thuso numerous times if he was sure that this was correct he explained that he was very sure and we agreed to sign up for the deal. He went through the whole application process, confirming details and bank details and at the end advised that the phone would be delivered in 5 working days. I decided to call this morning to enquire on delivery time and was told that this phone was not available on the explained contract. I asked the manager Brandon Pillay to invetigate and what I had said was correct however they do not want to give me the phone that was agreed on. Legally a verbal contract is as good as a written contract right? What are my legal rights regarding this issue? Is it my fault that the consultant was not trained properly? Or is this how VIRGIN MOBILE normally operates and thats why the contracts are done telephonically? Answers anyone???

Poor service over and over again
My son's phone was stolen about a year ago and I went through the necessary protocol to claim from the insurance. Only now after countless of complaints, actions and sending in the same paperwork have they promised a new phone. We were supposed to get it about a month ago and once again their promises have not been delivered. Every time I get hold of them they just have excuses and say they'll get back to me but they never do. this has been ongoing for way too long.

Furthermore, this is only one of the problems I've had with Virgin Mobile's service. My daughter was being overcharged and only after going to the head office was that problem resolved because nothing was getting done through the call centre and their countless actions. My son's sim card has also not worked properly since he got a new sim after his phone was stolen. The GPRS does not work even after many phone calls to the call centre. On top of all these empty promises the attitude at the call centre is appalling.

I hope this report gives insight to the poor customer care at Virgin Mobile and all these issues can finally be resolved.

top-up and customer service
I have a pre-paid service with them, for so-called 10cents a minute; I use the phone only once in a while and yet miraculously those minutes wind down and I'm automatically debited whenever my account has less than $5.00 in it.

About September 14th and 15th I called my fiance at work twice and wouldn't you know it, on thos two days they debited $10.8. Now, that is the amount of the usual debit, but the thing is that I was only on the phone for only 5 minutes on both days!

When I sent an e-mail asking about these automatic top-ups, I received the standard "You'll receive an answer in 24 hours". Well, two weeks later, after not having received a reply, I resent the message and then got an automated e-mail that " we will respond as soon as possible". Guess what? No reply to this day and it's Wednesday, October 6th, 2010!

Unsolicited telemarketing call from Virgin Mobile
I was contacted by a Virgin Mobile Telemarketer on 23102009. She launched into her marketing pitch informing me that my number has been selected to receive a phone and R100 airtime. She made it sound that both the phone and airtime would be free. The telemarketer warned me that our call was being recorded, after which she asked me whether I would be at home or at the office next week. She asked for personal information. At this point I enquired exactly how this offer works She proceeded to tell me that I will have to pay R100 each month. I said that I was not interested in paying an additional R100 to my current cell contract. She then threatened me and said that our call is being recorded and that I apparently have just accepted the offer by telling her that the phone should be delivered to my office-this is incorrect, seeing that she only asked me where I would be the next week, she never alluded to the fact that this question is being asked in order to deliver the phone. I was quite shocked by their conduct Fortuitously I was alerted to this trickery by asking the correct questions, I am however concerned that other unsuspecting receivers of this type of call might be conned.

This is the worst customer care I have heard of
I have SIX contracts (family members) with virginmobile (unfortunately) and my SIM card got faulty. I had to waste petrol to go to the shop and pay R55 for a SIM swap. This was done wrong. I called customer care and they said that I must go back to the shop (petrol again) and this time it will be done correctly. Fine, after MY time and MY petrol money it was done correctly. Then ANOTHER SIM card went faulty (remember it is not even two years yet) and now I have to go to a virginmobile shop AGAIN (MY petrol money, MY time) and pay ANOTHER R55!!! I DON'T HAVE R55!!! So, I have a choice of going to the shop or get the SIM card delivered. Cool! I like the deliverance, BUT I have to pay R100!! I DON'T HAVE R55!!! How in the WORLD should I pay R100?????? I have called customer care 4 TIMES! I am STILL waiting for the SIM card (after much explanation I would have gotten for free, even the delivery). This is the worst customer care I have heard of. I was with Vodacom for more than 8 years and not ONCE have the SIM card go faulty. I advertised to other people about virginmobile - how good they are, good service, etc. And now???

Virgin Mobile take money from my account but Im not a client
In two months nothing has been done to refund one of my staff cause you debited her account with R529.98. She has no account with your company and never has. How could you then debit her account. A mistake from your side and one you seem to refuse to resolve.

I have had to step in after her account was debited again for R168.99. After all the documentation and report afidavid from the police was sent to Presilla nothing was done. Spoke to a Leyton, and Collin also. All that was done is you debited her account again during this with another R168.99.

This is now rewdiculous.

Will you ever refund her or shall we go to the police and the newspapers showing everyone that you are *** from her and you are not willing to do anything about it?

What will it be?

I was told by Presilla almost two weeks ago it was resolved and that withing five days Thandi will have her money?

Service levels from beginning of this year were just totally non existent
Two of my contracts with Virgin Mobile were terminated, some months after the normal 24 month period (ported to another cellular vendor). Yesterday I received my account, still indicating full charges for these two contracts. I've submitted an urgent mail to Customer Service about this (trying to contact them via telephone is just not feasible), requesting immediate investigation and feedback, but have had no response as yet. Again proof of when it comes to engaging in business, service delivery is normally good, but when it comes to terminating business, there is just no service. Although in the case of Virgin Mobile, that is just why I decided to terminate my contracts with them, service levels from beginning of this year were just totally non existent.

Wouldn't allow me to upgrade
I have had a contract with Virgin Mobile for two years. The month of September came and it was time for my upgrade only to find out they would't allow my upgrade because of poor payment BUT my bank account gets debited on the 1st of evey month for Virgin's payment. I was assisted by a guy at the Waterfront's Branch who was very helpful and i asked him to follow up as to why they did not want me to upgrade but apparently the call centrehead office just declined my upgrade. I then cancelled my contract and wouldn't recommend Virgin Mobile to anyone. Bearing in mind, i had a Vodacom contract AND PORTED TO VIRGIN, WHAT A WASTE!!!

I cant get no satisfaction from Virgin mobile
I phoned the Virgin mobile call centre because i wanted to get a new handset and change my contract - I have been a subscriber for the last 2 years and my current phone has been paid up. The agent confirmed that my phone is paid up - i asked if I could get a Blackberry and a new plan and she said that Virgin Mobile does not have Blackberry's, only Nokia, Samsung, HTC and Sony Ericcson - she did not have an explanation why they do not have other phones. I requested a Nokia E75, and she said that they do not have that either. I asked her about changing the contract to another plan and she told me that she would check for me, and get back to me about that. That was more than a month ago - I would like to know why I should continue with a provider that cannot give me a handset that I require, or let me know whether I can upgrade my contract or not. I cannot remember the exact date of the incident.

These guys are just out there to make money and fob complaints off
Calls dropped, network unavailable message or NO signal and dropped calls, bad call quality and inconsistent retrieval of emails.

No customer service after 10 at night and when there is service you get passed from pillar to post with no resolution The fact that Virgin can unilaterally take back un-used airtime which I am paying for without so much as batting an eyelid.

Being made promises by Virgin supervisors with no action to those promises and being black listed by them on because of their own admitted accounting problems and NO follow up's as promised.

No Virgin V rewards as promised.

No follow up on faulty SIMS or re-allocation of credits on new SIMS until I had to drive to their offices on my own and threaten not to move until someone decided to attend to my problems.

These guys are just out there to make money and fob complaints off.
