Virgin blocking ported number
Over 2 years ago I ported from Virgin to Vodacom because of poor reception in my area. About 2 months ago Virgin decided to reactivate my number on their network. Since then I have been unable to receive calls from Telkom, Cell C or Virgin numbers. Vodacom has contacted them to resolve the issue to no avail.

Virgin Mobile lost my memory card & tell me lies
It took me 7 phone calls & more than a month for Virgin mobile just to come and collect my faulty phone that was only 3 months old. It took them over two weeks to get it back to me. When I received it my 8gig memory card was not inside-which comes standard with the phone. I phoned trough & was met with an arrogant response from the repairs department, Lincoln bluntly accused me that it I didn't give the sim card in with the phone and that I didn't tick the block where it says simcard thus I didn't give it in. I then checked my forms and there was no place to tick anything off.

I spoke to Nthato Moabelo who promised me that he will sort the problem out and get back to me on which I had to fax the letter I filled in. Nor he or Juliet Ndlovu could tell me why this letter didn't have the tick box on. I was asked to 'ignore' the repairs department & that they will get me a 8 gig memory card. More than a month later, several emails between myself Nthato Moabelo & Juliet Ndlovu & unreturned phone calls from both- I still have no memory card.

This is definately the most tactless, unreliable company operating in SA. Colin du Preez do you know what is going on in your department?

Why can you never get it right
I changed my account from a V500 to a V100 but im still getting billed for the V500 after I was assured it was changed. I definitely did not get credited for the V500 this month so I want my money back.

No delivery in 7 days
I also received a call about three weeks ago from a lady from Virgin, saying that I qualify for the phone and 1000 free sms, and so forth, and that first payment will only be 1 September 2009.

I was quite excited and went onto the internet to see what the phone looks like, and was really happy to receive my phone within 7 days.

It has now been three weeks and I still have not received my phone.

Today, 31 August 2009, the courier people contacted me at about 9h00 this morning, to tell me that they want to deliver my phone today, I said no way, I have been waiting three weeks for my phone, and now they want to deliver my phone the day before the payment must go through.

Its so convenient to send the phone to me the day prior to payment.

Not acceptable, I dont want the phone, as Virgin had told me I would receive it within 7 days, not three weeks, and not the day before the payment must go through.

I cannot remember the exact date and time, but it is approx three weeks ago.

Problem not rectified after 4 months
It saddens me to have to complain on here once again about Virgin Mobile. After my last complaint on 20.06.09, I was contacted by Jarred on 21.06.09 who undertook to sort things out. On Thursday, 30.07.09 I was asked to supply my contracts in order to rectify the problem which I sent to Jarred on Monday 03.08.09. By 12.08.09 I had still had no feedback. On 14.08.09 I got a call from Claudia to say that they had not received the docs and that I was to resend them. She undertook to revert by close of business that day. I resent docs immediately. I have had absolutely no response from anyone at Virgin Mobile since then. As from 17.08.09 I have taken to emailing daily requests for information - to which I have yet to receive a reply. I trust this will receive immediate attention - I have been paying for sms's for the past four months after taking out a contract which undertook to give me FREE sms's. I have absoluletely had enough and am at the point where I am prepared to completely cancel my entire contract with Virgin Mobile and take my business elsewhere.

Stay away from them
Since you *****S insist on taking my money from my account despite the fact that I cancelled my debit order, can you take the money at the end of the month. It makes no sense and it's no use for you to take money whenever and if ever you feel like it. It will return unpaid and it affects my credit rating!!!

And talking of which, what is this nonsense about you taking 41 cents from my acccount? Can you *****s not count or at least not read what you own invoice says??

Does Not stand by their products
Purchased a phone through Sears.

Virgin Mobile refused to activate for a various number of excuses.

Buyer Beware: Virgin Mobile does not stand behind their products whether it is a top up card or phone from retailers.

It's been nearly two weeks after I payed them and my line is still suspended
I have a contract with Virgin Mobile, very good service with the phone and the spares, but seems that they are slacking.

They suspended my line because I did not pay them, that's fine. So I payed them more than double what I should. It's been nearly two weeks after I payed them. My line is still suspended, I don't know what is the problem, I get no response from them, not via e-mail, they keep cutting the line when I phone them.

I need my phone as I am busy with interviews and business. I am sick of people who can't help me in my language, I need to speak their language but they do not even employ one person who can speak my AFRIKAANS. Can't believe South-Africa is becoming just like Zim in the service sector.

Thank You Peter for your site. You are doing the best thing ever and I think the rest of SA can back me on that.

I am paying for a cell contract which we cannot make use of
My Daughter has a contract which includes a 'free' cellphone with a warranty. This particular model has subsequently become known to be prone to malfunctions. Every time she hands it in for repairs, they claim not to have loan sets available, not do they ever bother to call when the phone has been repaired.

I am thus paying for a cell contract which we cannot make use of. I think Virgin mobile should close down if it cannot render a reasonable service.

Stay away from Virgin Mobile
Earlier this year I requested a new cell phone from Virgin Mobile, due to very poor service I cancelled my request, but I was still billed for this phone, this was at the start of May 2009, for the amount of + - R2500 (Virgin check ref. 34821370). I discussed this matter with the Billing department and was told that I would receive a refund. Up until today I have not received this refund. I made a couple of follow up calls, once I was told that refunds have been delayed. I accepted this and waited a little longer and when I made my next followup call I spoke to a lady by the name of Mosa. She was going to look into it and follow up with me, I have not heard of her. It is now August, heading towards September, and I have not received my Money. I really do not know what to do anymore, I really dont.

VRIGIN, please get your act together and give me my money back! WHAT DO YOU GUYS WANT ME TO DO??? PLEEAASSSEEEE!!! I'm starting to see this as theft, pull yourself together man! C'mon!, And PLEASE do not phone me with attitude again.
