Getting billed for no contract or phone
I applied for a contract in middle 2008 (cant remember the exact date), after waiting a few weeks for the promised delivery of the phone and sim, I cancelled the contract in writing Virgin confirmed this and I never received a phone.
In February 2009 I received a statement for the phone and contract. I contacted Virgin and they promised to sort it out. Since then I received several statements per email promising that this will be sorted out, but keep on receiving statements, I have a list of names of people I spoke to and who promised that this will be sorted out. I have since been handed over to a debt collector and been blacklisted.

Won't activate my phone or refund money
Had my phone for over two years and have forgotten vkey; this wasn't a problem before as I'd just buy a 'top up' card and call the serial number in to the customer service number. However they changed their system and now they won't reactivate the phone without the vkey and account number even though the top up goes through.
Tried four times to get a live person on the phone out in the middle of nowhere and killed battery while on the road. Tried again once I returned home and recharged the phone. Some representative with poor English speaking skills was absolutely no help and further would not escalate my problem or tell me who else to contact to either get my phone working again or gather refund on the top up. Virgin mobile just lost a long time customer over their very shoddy customer service. There is apparently no other way to get in touch with someone at this PoS company. F U Virgin Mobile I'll be taking you to small claims court over my outstanding available funds, loss of phone number, and scam phone that I can't use with anyone else.

This Phone Company Sucks
Orders a 19.99 phone on the Virgin Mobile site last week. I put three with my prepaid card three times. It did not work so I ended up calling the store where I got it from and the card company and they sate it wehnt through three time which would mean the three phones would be here in 3-5 days which the fifth day was yesterday and I did not get the phones and no FEX Ex, nothing. Nothing came as I knew something was up with this when I called up VM and got a live person and they said they had no record of me orderign the phones which is a lie. Duh the card company and thye store has a record of me ordering. Stupid moron! I talked to someone else who states my things would come by Fed Ex yesterday and nothing came. I had someone else talk to another person and they are investigating the matter and would call back within 3 days or so and its been a few days and no one calls! I tried emailing them and their site does not work. I got an invalid URL or something and I tried emailing them before this happened and I got the run around and the emails didnt help at all so I eamied them back they did not email me back. I want the phone but do want my refund as I should have gotten their phone via store. This company Sucks. Do not go with them. They steal your money even if you don't get your phoenes and never ever order from their site. Their site sucks and you get ripped off which is what Im dealing with right now and they will NOT refund your money unless you talk to your card company and a friend sais I guess they will talk to them and all, but afraid they wont, so dont use their website. They suck and your card may not even go through eventhough the store or company may have records and the company doesnt which is complete BS. Im thinking the next step is to file a complaint with the FCC an BBB is this doesnt get solved soon. This is rediculous and I hope you all don't go through with this. I even recommend going with their company as their Customer services sucks, they lie, steal, etc and Im def. thinking of going with another company. So dont do biz with this company. They suck and their customer service will give you the run around like they did with me so I dont recommend this company at all.

Outright Theft
In June Virgin Mobile charged me a $552 cancellation fee even though I had not canceled my phone. They charged this to my credit card without contacting me. When I found out, I immediately called them and they acknowledged right away that they had made a mistake and would credit my credit card in a few days. A few days later I still had not received my credit and was told it would take a few more days. This has now been going on for over a month and they still have not given me my money. To me, this is theft pure and simple. They agree that they owe me the money, but simply will not pay it back.
Don't use Virgin, they are quite capable of taking your money for no reason (theft). If you are already with thm, don't let them have your credit card information.

Service
Been with Virgin Mobile about a month and so far every weekend I have tech difficulties with my phone not having service, I am on the $25 plan for unlimited text, data, web, 300 minutes of calling and every Thursday or Friday my service stops and I cannot send or receive calls, data, msgs or even log into my account. I call and report the problem and they expedite it to their main office and it takes 4 days to find out why I have no service so i am without a cell phone for 4 days every weekend. During the week days it works fine then comes the weekend and no service for 4 days and thats if they can figure out the problem. This is getting very frustrating and I am looking for a new provider and will be stuck with a useless new $90 VM phone!

texting problem
I restarted my plan as I usally do each month with texting included. Well texting did not show on my phone so I could not receive texting or send texting. I contacted virgin mobile, they said it could take up to 75 hours to fix. No one calls and days later and contacting them regularly they still say they have a work order ticket. 10 days later same problem no texting. Its like paying for service but you dont get it. Was a good company but now problems seem to overide the cheap service. cheap service cheap customer care.

sold false products
I signed with virgin mobile telephonically during July 2009. The sales person offered a free computer phone where I will only pay for the airtime consumption only. For the first 3 months all was well. The airtime they offer me is R 600.00 then I pay for what I use. During November or December last year I had a debt of >R 1, 000.00. When I questioned they reversed the debt.
Since then they debited me with itemised billing which was never mentioned before. I called and complained. It was reversed, and confirmed as error, for 1 month then it came back again.
I noticed this when I was about to sign another contract for my younger sister. I called again cancelling the deal for my sister, requesting them to fix and permanently stop charging me for itemised billing they agreed is not part of the package.
I thought the second deal is off because they never even sent the phone but to my surprise they are now debitting R216.00 from my Nedbank account. It could have been better if the phone was delivered.
With the existing contract they continue debiting me with itemised billng and when I call they apologise and promise to remove it.
I thought I was falling for virgin mobile services but after this, I regret I ever accepted to have a deal with them.
Regards
Mrs Kutala Jumba

Misrepresentation
Craig Naidoo called me on the 25th June 2010 from Mobile direct representing "Virgin Mobile'. He told me about a phone that was on special nokia 2330. I told him that I'm not interested in that phone and he asked me which phone i wanted I told him Nokia E63 and he said I will have to pay a litte bit more and I told him that I don't mind as long as it is what I want. We agreed on that deal and guess what the very hieous phone that i said i don't want was delivered to me. I cannot be paying R149, 00 every month for 2 years for a phone i don't want. I was feel that I was misrepresented and these call centre people are only interested in their commission. I want called virgin mobile to take back their phone and cancel that contract because it is not what i asjed for. They gave me the number of Mobile direct saying that they are the agent but I failed to get through.

Needs to be shutdown
I had a virgin mobile phone as back up just in case. I rarely used it but always kept money on it. Then I try to use it yesterday and get a message even though I have minutes and money on it I can't use it unless I add 20.00 every so often. Bull**** how can they cut me off when it has money and moinutes and on top of that you can't talk to a live person, are on hold for litterally hours while your minutes tick away. The fcc should shut them down, they are scamming your money away.

Horrible customer service
Each month Virgin Mobile cuts off my account for "nearing a credit limit" by 25%, they overcharge for long distance and the average wait time to talk to a customer service rep is about a half hour. Their attitude is horrible and their service is terrible, try ANY OTHER CARRIER.
