Visions Electronics Reviews

60 day price protection
I had purchased a LG (MODEL: 37LC7D) for $899.00 ($1041.59 with taxes and disposal surcharge) from Visions Electronics on January 27th, 2008. One week after the purchase I noticed the same TV was going for a cheaper price $799.00 @ Futureshop. I had remembered during my purchase from Visions they offered a "60 Day Price Protection" Guarantee! I was very happy with this and filled out the necessary paper worth that came with my receipt and mailed it (January 31st, 2008) off to their Calgary office for procesesing.

Weeks had gone by and I heard nothing back from Visions regarding my price protection refund, it says estimated processing time 3-5 weeks on their PDF forum located on their website.

So I then sent an email to their price protection inquiry email address and received the following response.

"Mr. Cook, I have checked and your application has not been processed as yet. I note that your purchase was made on January 27, therefore, I am assuming that your application was received at the end of January or beginning of February. I am not as yet processing applications from the end of January. It will probably be a couple of weeks more, in line with the 6 - 10 weeks".

To this date I still have not received my refund and considering small claims court.

I had then contacted their Head office and was hung up on SEVERAL times by whom ever picked up the phone.

I have sent several emails, and tried to contact the head office now multiple times a day and would like a date when my refund will be given.

Poor service!
I had purchase a tv and speaker system from Visions 6 months ago for $3k, We agreed on payment for 1 yr (12 months) NO INTREST! We put down $500 and signed up for credit with Dashardan (spelling) Visa. We received no bill for 2 weeks we realized these things take time so we waited for a month, finally we called in they had no record of our information and no invoice, so we resorted to waiting a bit longer. We got fed up and went directly to the store to ask them to pull up our information... NOTHING. We were confused as to why we are not being billed. No one would inform us of what we should do. Most people would have thought they got a free tv and never bothered to call. 6 months later i have the collection agency searching for me contacting my family. Saying i owe them $4k (more than what i payed for the tv) We went back to visions with the information about our account from the collection agency and the pulled up our purchase... my name address and phone number were all incorrect not to mention the dull minded employee copied it off my drivers license. VISIONS FAULT! Now i am being forced to pay a lump sum of $4K money which i cant just thow down! hence the reason we were paying monthly!!! Visions ignored my complaint said it was no longer there problem and gave my 100 phone numbers to call and was transfered to everyone i talk to. I am very upset and would like visions to take back there 6 month old TV in perfect condition and pay the credit agency the money owed! Cuz I don't want there TV, next time i am going to BEST BUY!

Buyers beware!
Visions Electronics is a major electronics dealer with locations accross Alberta and British Columbia 'specializing' in home/car audio and video. I have done a few transactions with them because their prices are negotiable and pretty reasonable, but I have recently learned there can be a HUGE hidden cost in dealing with them.

My last major transaction with them was for a 62" Toshiba DLP TV for about $3K. They offered financing through a Visa affiliated finance company out of Montreal named Dejardin'. I was quoted an interest rate of 8.75% with a 3-month initial interest-free period on an open term.

I chose the financing option, gave them all the required information to complete their on screen application behind the counter, was approved within 5 minutes, and was given a hand written retail receipt for the TV, taxes and shipping costs.

When I asked for a copy of the financing agreement, they said I would receive a copy in the mail. When it arrived, the interest rate was 18.75% on a fixed term of 36-months. When I called the store to talk to the salesperson he wasn't around and never returned my calls.

I spoke to the finance company and as the contract had already been executed, they couldn't release me from it. My final attempt after speaking with a multitude of 'managers' I called head office. I told them of my experience and they gave me a tough shit and 'buyer beware' attitude.

I will never do business with Visions Electronics ever again and wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

False advertizing
They advertised a camera, i-pod and sony printer for sale on Thursday June21/07. Then had not one of these products in either store in Regina, saskatchwan... I was the first person in the store and none of these items where there. I then had the sales clerk phone the other store and they also had not one of these items in the store... How can you do that advertise something when you don,t have it to sell?? This is not the first time this B.S. has happened at theses stores...
