I tried to switch hosting for my website to VistaPages. I chose the 2-year option because the site said the cost would be $5.95 per month. What they don't tell you is that they charge you for the full 2 years all at once. I wasn't expecting this and didn't have enough money in the account I was using, so they contacted me and said my card had been declined.
This is the point at which I found out they were charging me for everything up front. I told them I'd have to at least wait until payday, but that I'd also reconsider since they hadn't been up front about how they charge customers. I told them they needed to make this clearer on their site. I had no reason to think they'd charge me the total amount up front because the hosting service I'm with now charges me per month. One of their reps responded and was extremely rude, talking down to me like I was an idiot, asking, "Why do you think you're getting a discount?
Of course we charge the full amount up front." I responded and told him again it hadn't been clear and that I thought their service was like the one I have now, and asked him not to contact me again since he'd been rude. He ignored my request to be left alone and e-mailed me again, and was rude again. I forwarded his e-mail to their customer service support and billing departments, but I don't know that they'll do anything about it. In his last e-mail, he said they'd already lost "hundreds of customers" because of their bad attitude and rudeness.
If they're aware of it and attribute losing customers to it, it doesn't sound like they're working on changing anything. Stay away from VistaPages!
