Over a month trying to get birth/death certificates with these idiots. They keep delaying requesting more identification, say ID is not readable, etc. They TAKE YOUR MONEY FIRST and THEN GIVE YOU THE RUNAROUND!

okay ive been waiting and waiting for my b.c. for my daughter. well its been a month and somebody called and left a message on my cell. i called back 4 times first time nobody answered, 2nd somebody did and i was put on hold, 3rd nobody answered again then i called another number for them and automated voice answers and then im hung up on by that. im really pissed you take my money after i did all that i was supposed to do and you dont give me what i need, BS!!! im going to call my credit card company and tell to get the money back bc i recieved nothing for what i paid for. and what the *&$@ i need to talk to somebody from the over night crew when i gave you everything you needed to process my order. Never again yall are full of crap.

09-06-10 Vital Chek hasn't changed very much over the past 5 years and yet the Great Commonwealth of Virginia still using Vital Chek as their online servicer to obtain Vital Records from the Commonwealth of Virginia on the Officical Website of the Great Commonwealth of Virginia!

Five year ago I tried tried Vital Chek and did not get my info I requested in a timely manner, I drove from FL to VA to go to the Department of Vital Records to get my birth certificate in person. The Commonwealth of Virginia still has Vital Chek's link on the website to obtain certified copies of birth certificates. And VITAL CHEK still doesn't work. After jumping through all the hoops, the end page said there was an error during processing, and they did not say what it was, nor was an order # attached to their reply. Thus, I cannot submit a written ticket to their Suppport Dept.

It is amazing they have no problem telling you what the fee is AFTER you have submitted your info, they claim they cannot just give you a figure until you give them your life story. Which makes no sense, they know how much Virginia charges for certified copies, they know how much they charge to handle the process of the transaction and they know how much the UPS shipping will be, Vital Chek could simply list what the latest information is and then say the cosmic "figures and amounts are subject to change according to shipping and fees".

However, and this may come in handy for anyone who might need it, on the Commonwealth of Virginia's Official Website they list a phone number for Vital Chek 877-572-6333 I called it and the voice message indicates it is Vital Chek. The call didn't go through, since it is Labor Day and I imagine they take the same holidays as the States since they don't have access to their offices on holidays. Hope the phone number helps. Yes, my next correspondence will be to the Great Commonwealth of Virginia.

I ordered a birth certificate from the State of Illinois on March 23, and paid $19.50 for express shipping. Today is March 27 and I still have not received it. More importantly, IT HAS NOT EVEN BEEN PROCESSED! Vital Chek's website does not give a processing time until after the credit card has been charged, and the confirmation e-mail has been sent. They told me that since the processing time of 3-5 business days is in the e-mail, I just have to wait, and there is nothing I can do about it! This company is practicing deceptive advertising tactics which constitutes fraud!
