I saw an online ad for combining an anti-aging skin care product and a free radical reducing pill for "great results". Both products were offered for a shipping and handling fee of $4 to $5 each and were on separate web sites. I am always hesitant about signing up for anyting online, so I was careful to read the entire information before putting in my information, including credit card number. I received the skin care product first and then waited at least a couple of weeks before receiving the pills. Much to my surprise, the pills came in an envelope that looked like an Express Mail envelope and I had to sign for the package. The writing on the outside of the package and the sheet that came inside the package with the pills had what appeared to me to be some kind of oriental writing, but there was no contact information such as a phone number or address in English. Soon, I received a second shipment of both products. I refused the package that contained the pills because I hadn't ordered them and wasn't going to sign for something I didn't order. I didn't realize the other package was the skin care product until I had opened it, so I couldn't "Return to Sender". Then I received my credit card statement with the outlandish charges of $85.90 for the pills (from Weight Secfrets) and $89.63 for the skin care product (Clear Skin Plus). I tried to call the phone number on the statement for the pills, but I receive a message something to the effect that I didn't have enough credit available for the charges. I contacted the skin care company and was told that no refund was available, that I couldn't return the product and that no supervisor/manager would talk with me then, but would call me back after 72 hours. I finally received a $40 credit to my card, but have to pay the remaining balance, according to the rep that I talked with. I called my credit card company and reported the problem. Both charges (along with a $5.25 foreign transaction fee for the pills) are being disputed, and I ended up having to cancel my Citi card because there is no way that I know of to cancel the pills. For me, this is the end of making online purchases from companies that I know nothing about. I'm thankful that I used a credit card from a company that will stand behind me instead of my debit card. The old saying, "Buyers Beware" is even more true today!!! I just now looked up the pills on the internet. FamilysReviews.com gave the product a good review, but when I clicked on the link to take me to that web site, I continually receive a "Network Error" message and am unable to continue.
