This is a luxury shopping website. I've been shopping with them for years. The last few transactions have been troublesome and I feel compelled to file this complaint.
Most recently, I purchased a sporty watch for $450, and it was sent to me dead. It looked brand new so, possibly old stock, I dunno. I called/emailed multiple times and finally received a Return Authorization number and was sent the prepaid Federal Express shipping label. I returned it on February 12, 2010 and according to Federal Express tracking, it was received by Vivre on February 17th. As of March 6, 2010, no credit was issued. I called repeatedly during their business hours and each time received voice mail. There is never a live person in customer service. It's also difficult to communicate with them because you can only contact them via email menu boxes, none of which specify my problem (item returned and no credit issued). I finally had to open a dispute with my credit card company.
But what an utter waste of my time: they send me defective merchandise, I have to call/email repeatedly for permission to return, wait for them to send preprinted shipping label (which should have been included in package by their own admission), repackage item and drop it off at Federal Express, wait for credit, don't see it three weeks after they received it, call and email repeatedly to inquire about my credit (they don't reply), and then deal with my credit card company to dispute the charge.
Though I love their inventory, I will not shop with them again! I don't know what is going on, because they used to have amazing customer service and personal shoppers, VIP discounts, and NOW all of it is gone. I'm sure they are affected by the economy since they sell luxury goods, but still, get it together or shut down. Stop jerking around your once loyal customers!
