Customer Service
Vizio Gallevia LCD 42". Purchased 5/2007.
Apparently Vizio has a "self-destruct" port that they label "service-port" on their TVs. I accidentally plugged a USB cable into the "service-port" and my TV would not turn back on when powered up. While reading through the manual, there were no warnings whatsoever with regard to the detriment that the accidental utilization of this port will have on your TV. Customer service was useless other than telling me that I just fried my motherboard. I've never heard of anything like this. Who builds a product with that self destructs by a simple insertion of a cable in the wrong port??? LAME!!!After my bad experience with customer service and reading all of these complaints, I will never purchase another Vizio product again.

Vizio has the absolute worst customer service. The guy I talked to was actually yelling at me. He told me " You listen to me, the team manager cancelled your request and she is very efficient so that is exactly what you asked her to do." She told me the box had already been sent but it would take 24 to 48 hours to get the UPS tracking #. Does that sound a bit strange or what? I was really frustrated after several weeks of a run around and then 3 hours on the phone being passed from person to person so I admit I was not the most polite customer. This guy was so rude that he called back 15 minutes later and apologized for his behavior. I have to admit that was pretty cool but honestly there are a lot of people looking for work out there so why does Vizio not hire people who can be polite to customers? We will never buy another product from them. I predict they will not even be around a year from now if they can't get their act together.

died after 13 months
bought VIZIO monitor from BJ's; 1 month after warranty expired, the back light burned out; called VIZIO and they said it would cost more to fix than to buy another; well, i have to buy another but it sure won't be another VIZIO; GOOD RIDDANCE!

defective tv/customer service
I bought a 32inch Vizio ( plasma) in 2008. within 12 months the power supply went out. I contacted Vizio they sent out a repair person to fix the power supply...5 months later its out again! I called them they said that they would repace the TV, but I would have to send my old one back first. It took them 4 days to e-mail me a label. When they told me I would have it in 24 hrs. The shipping is going to take 7 days each way and who knows how long it will take for them to process it. So were looking at 23-30 days of me looking at the ugly wall mount on my wall. Vizio did not give me much resistance about replacing the TV, but the process is unacceptable. By the way if anyone has the plasma, it has a manufactures defect in the power supply and they no longer make that TV.

Don't buy
My husband and I bought a vizio tv within 6 months of purchase the tv no longer had a picture. We went to the store to exchange it under warranty, but with this company you deal with them directly. We had to take time off work for someone to come to our house to try to fix it. It didnt work. We had to take another day off to wait for a delivery of a refurb tv ( total wait was over a month. Now 3 months later the refurb tv loses all HDMI inputs along with sound. They said all we can do is send you apart and take it to only 2 places to get fixed. We did now along with the other things listed we dont have sound. They then said well we can give you another refurb for $400. The price of our tv is now $400 brand new in the store!!

terrible product
Bought a 37" Vizio LCD on 2/15/08, & tonight, it went black/purple & quit working. We can't use the menus, or anything, & can only turn it on or off by the plug. When I called the Vizio support line, even though it was during business hours, I couldn't get anyone. I've emailed them, but at this point, after reading the MANY, MANY posts about the same issues, I've no hope that they'll actually be helpful. It's terrible business practice to make a product that they tout as a lifetime product, yet it only lasts 2 years. I will NEVER buy a Vizio again, will campaign actively to get stores to stop carrying them, & tell my own personal story to anyone that will listen. I can only pray a class action suit will eventually be brought against them, because it's very obvious they are aware of the problems, & don't care to do anything about them. Shame on vizio.

The television just went dark. All power indicators turn on but you just get a dark screen. Vizio will not return my calls.

Worst customer service
Vizio customer service is the worse that i have ever dealt with. I bought it from Costco and finally I decided to replace it with a Sony. I wasn't asking for my money back, i just wanted them to fix it. They told me i had to plug a DVD into it, I don't have a DVD, so the customer service told me to go borrow one from a neighbor. What idiots. The last time i spoke with the customer service department they told me to get a new comcast box. It must be comcast since i have the same problem with different boxes. NEVER BUY ONE, in fact when I was in the store the other day i talked 2 people out of buying one.
