bad product
my husband and i purchased a vizio 50" HDTV in sept '07. about 3 months ago, it started just cutting off by itself. sometimes it will stay on 3 seconds, sometimes 3 hours. it is a terrible product!!! vizio will not help you if your warranty is even a day expired. we now have a $1300 TV that is worth $0. dont buy vizio anything!!!

poor product
Yea its another vizio complaint bought a $1500 50inch vizio plasma HDTV. Came back home from vacation went to turn my tv on you could hear it come on and the orange light turned green which told me all was well I WAS WRONG THE BLACK SCREEN REMAINED BLACK NO NUMBERS NO NOTHING tryed hitting the input but nothing but a black screen tried calling vizio they did try to help me reset the tv but that was apparently not the problem because I have a 1500 hundred dollar tv collecting dust in my garage and im watching a 32in toshiba. I guess next time I decide to by a tv it wont be a vizio...

TV died
My slightly over a year old 32" Vizio TV developed a clicking on/off/on/off/on before finally staying on the other day and this morning clicked it's last click and finally died. There are complaints all over the internet about this junk and Vizio is well aware of the problem but refuses to help in any way. They took our money, continue to push their cheaply made junk and we're screwed.

TWO YRS OLD 50IN HD SUCKS
I purchased a 50in HDTV on 30Se[07, and I was screwed on 23Oct09. We were watching TV when it gave a pop and went to a black screen...Called support and nothing they can do. They gave me repair dept and it will cost a minimum of 575 to fix. And, from what I have been reading, it sounds like this is a temporary fix. More than likely it will break again within the year. So, what to do, what to do...
This is a company that needs to be broken. Please help the consumers that have given them our money!!!

Don't waste your money
Vizio LCD HD TV(s) are defective and unreliable. Do you want to spend $999.99 for a flat screen television set only to have it fail after two years. Don’t buy the Vizio brand product. The light source, which is the life of the television failed on three of my Vizio flat screen sets. The light source is the life of the unit. If a component failed, the television could be repaired, but if the light source fails, it is cheaper to replace the whole product. The Vizio manufacturer says that a certain number of their units will fail. If you don’t purchase an extended warranty you’ve lost out. A warranty will cost $400.00 extra for three years. Than if the television fails after three years there is no recourse. A regular $150.00 television set plays for ten years or longer. I recommend a flat screen from a company that builds, manufactures and owns a patent on the light source, like Samsung, or Sharp. Vizio is junk!!! AND a Waste of MONEY!!!

Quality-Warranty
I have had this TV, Vizio 42" LCD, for 42 days past the warranty period.
The picture and sound went out and they (Vizio) said that it was the back light that had gone bad. They also said they would do nothing more for me because the set was out of warranty.
It's never happened to me, but I've heard and read where many companies will honor a warranty when the problem occurs shortly after the expiration. Vizio won't, even though it's a major breakdown.
I may be unreasonable thinking that they should do more to help me, but I'll never buy another Vizio product because of this. There are too many other choices.

bad warranty
VIZIO WILL NOT HONOR THEIR WARRANTY! I purchased a 19" VIZIO fron a dealer on e-bay. After about 3 months the picture will not come on, the dealer (lucky dog bargans) said they only have a 60 day return policy, call VIZIO. VIZIO said the dealer was not an arutherized dealer, and will not honor their one year warranty, the warranty does not say who you have to purchase the TV from, so here we sit listening to our worthless VIZIO.

Terrible Customer Service
We got a 42" Vizio HDTV Flat Screen for our 10 year wedding anniversary last Aug '08. Everything was good until about May-June. We have trouble turning on the tv.
We have been calling Vizio since June with no satisfaction. I am very irritated! They should stand behind their product and replace the faulty ones with new/like/kind.
They are saying our model is discontinued. It's not our fault, give us a new tv!!! Now, there is a hold up because we live in Canada...
I am taking steps to put in a complaint to the BBB.
This is getting really old.

Poor Product
I have a Vizio GV47FHD bought from Costco for 1800$ (with tax)and after 29 months it blew up. I realize the warranty is no longer valid but I will no longer purchase electronics from Costco as long as they continue to sell Vizio products. I have read hundreds of posts on the Internet about the same problems with Vizio products and I will never recommend nor buy another Vizio product again. Sams club is experiencing the same problems with Vizio products and is taking returns even after warranty is up. I would have hoped Costco would do the same and back up their products.

Unsatisfactory product and service
After purchasing T.V. discovered picture is only adequate from a straight on position. Cannot view properly from any other angle. T.V. is located in a bedroom of normal size and the volume is terribly inadequate. At times on 100% can finally hear. (We have no hearing issues) While under warranty have called in and first tech said they would send someone out. A week later they called back to say, sorry, no can do. Suggested I email pictures of T.V. and they'd decide if it
were fixable. Also said these T.V.'s only have 3 watts of sound so there was nothing they could do for that issue. A TV with no sound and a poor picture is certainly worthless. They will not accept pictures of the TV unless the Vizio name is showing. Right...I guess I'll have to paint over their lettering to get it to standout enough to prove to them this is their TV. At every turn they are making it impossible to get service or return a defective product.
