I am absolutely disappointed in the service at Vodacom Sandton. I signed a contract with a new phone last week Thursday – to which I was told I could return the phone within 7 days and they would give me a new one immediately if there were any issues.

I cannot make phone calls and send sms’s and when I went into Vodacom they said it will take up to 7 days to fix. I run a business and cannot afford to have no phone.

Do not tell clients you will give them a new phone when Vodacom wont.

I would like to know how to cancel my contract with immediate effect so I can change service providers.

i also dont appreciate the sarcasm from the employees.

Bad service, sky high charges
On Tuesday 5 July my wife went to the Vodashop in Nelspruit Ilanga Mall to try and solve an issue on our Vodacom Internet account. The assistant had to contact their call centre and the phone was handed to my wife. She spoke to a call centre agent Luyiso who was utterly rude, arrogant and disrespectful towards her. She was told that she can not enquire on my behalf as she was not the main account holder. She was taken aback by his bad attitude and ended up calling me in tears! We are very dissappointed by the pathetic service from Vodacom and the way my wife was being treated. What I don't understand is the fact that I have already requested Vodacom to authorize my wife as the main user of my account and still she was denied access to my account! The main issue is the fact that I have signed an internet contract for R149 per month, with 2 Gig usage every month. I was told that there would be no additional costs on this contract so I was very shocked to find that my June bill had ran up to nearly R2000 !!
I demand some answers as to how this could be possible as the data was mainly used for E mail purposes. Can Vodacom guarantee me that my account have not been used illegally by a hacker or any other criminal element. What is the possibility that my account could have been mixed up with somebody else's ? I have still not received any answers up to today (Friday 8 July)!!!

Worse Service Ever
Context, phone was originally sent in for repairs was from a contract taken out in March 2011, phone was not even 3months old when problems arose, got it booked in for repairs. About a week and half later we received a phone, at home we relised that the unit was a refurbished unit and a much older revision of the same model. Not accepting this we returned the phone and clearly stated our unhapinees with receiving such an old phone. The matter was taken up with Escalations, again an older revision refurbished unit was given to us. Now we been told that this is the unit i must take and the center will not re-book it in as they say this is how things work. I dont think i am being unreasonable in requiring we receive a new phone or atleast one that is of the same revision as the one i sent in as the contract and the original phone were not even 3months old. If this is the service i should accept from Vodacom then i will cancel all my contracts with Vodacom. it is aboslute rubbish i have to pay a 24month contract for an old phone because a technician decided he cannot fix it, didnt bother to tell me why, so for all i know it can be fixed. Vodacom slogan should be 'POWER TO ABUSE YOU'

NEVER WORKS!!!!!
Vodacom has never worked properly and all they ever say is: "We are busy working on it"

Why must we pay for a service that is non-existant????? Why would I pay for something that never works? They don't give solutions - just say "please be patient"
Patience for a lot of people can only go that far.

Cellphones are called Mobile phones for a reason. I was told by someone at Vodashop to rather get a different Service provider sim card as a back-up... So, if I'm in trouble one day and my vodacom cellphone doesn't work, I must tell my attacker to hold on, so I can just quickly change my sim card... Come on people.

I'm fed-up with Vodacom.

I contacted Vodacom to provide me with an address of a person that is
harrasing me, by sending sms and calls from an unknown cell no.
The consultant advised me that they cant assist me without a police case number, the police told me that Vodacom must give me the address to enable them to attend to this. They also told me that i can change my cell no what it will cost me R180. My mom is the contract holder and she is 82 years of age, but I her daughter uses the phone. I cannot have the number changed because I applied for various position and they have my cell phone number to contact me for a position. I URGENTLY NEED THE ADDRESS OF THE PERSONS CALLING ME, OR IF VODACOM CAN PLEASE CONTACT THAT PERSON AND WARN THEM THAT THEY MUST STOP HARRASSING ME

To whom it may concern:
On Tuesday evening 28 June 2011 @ 18:52 a guy phoned me from the following number +27873107392. He said he's from vodacom and he'd like to offer me a special deal on airtime. Unfortunately I did not get his name, but what I know is that he told me that the conversation is being recorded. When I told him that I was in a meeting at that moment, he had the nerve to tell me that he cannot believe that I can be in a meeting at that time of the evening. I don't have to give him or anyone of your (vodacom) employees any excuse, but these people phone at the most inconvenience times. We as a family were in a prayer meeting. We were praying for the ill, the less fortunate and the deceased. It was very upsetting for me as he does not know what goes on in other peoples lives and houses. Please can someone assist me inthis matter. Thanks. Soraya Mcleod.

3g incorrect billing
I am having the exact same problem Elmarie and plenty others it seems, with VODACOM !!! I have been on a MY MEG 600 TOP UP and they keep telling me its not. They tell me im on just the normal MY MEG. I told them I want proof of usage they again told me this was not possible. In 2 years I have never been charged and have been cut off at 600MB as per contract signed. (Initailly my meg 300 Top up) They now tell me I have never been on that contract and need to PAY... R881- over and above my R249. I used 1.9 GIG over and above my normal. All I get is "mame you used it you must pay"... I really an truelly hope all conversations I have had in the past month (06 June to date ) have been recorded as they say on the 082155 number. I have since found out that I have been TRIPLE charged for my Blackberry subscription. To date have had no explanation except PAY???? I cant stop the debit order as I run a business from that number. I have to top it all off been given a CN for R175????? without any explanation??>?? NO ONE CAN HELP AN NO ONE i think wants to... I too am at wits end. I do not have the money and set limits on all my contracts for obvious reasons. THIS IS AGAINST THE LAW as far as im concerned, they are stealing money from me. I dont know who to talk to to help with this. I went to the store that I did the migration with (N1 City, CT) and they believe this DO NOT HAVE ANY SIGNED DOCS of the contract??????? Thats obvious because I didnt sign anything as the computers were off line????? I was however assured that the migration would be done when they were back on line. This was done but somewhere something has gone horribly wrong??? WHERE TO NOW?????? ALL accounts I have with them are faulty/incorrect and no one will take responsibility. DO WE ALL JUST HAVE TO PAY BECAUSE THEY SAY SO. I DONT CARE FOR THE COLOUR CHANGE THEY LEAVE ME FUMING "RED" ...

Airtime not converted to databundle
I bought a data bundle from Vodacom yesterday by converting airtime to a data bundle. Now I can not access my internet through my modem because it tells me I don't have any airtime. Called them more once last time I was told problem is solved but my balance is still R 0.00.
