Stay far away from them
On the 29th of Sept my mother upgraded her contract. She was given a brochure where the phones she was eligible for, as well as extras, were indicated in the sales person's handwriting. After signing she inquired about the voucher she was promised, but was then told it is not applicable for her contract. She was also told that the 'sales person is new' How can customers be expected to pay for 'new' peoples mistakes!?!?!
We sent the shop an email stating we want the voucher, or at least the opportunity to return the unused phone and re-select a phone based on honest information this time, since the first selection was based on the extras that never came. If one of the above resolutions could not be reached, we informed them of our intention to file a case in the small claims court. James then phoned stating my email makes him feel threatened?!? He also stated that he never refused to help, yet when my mother approached a member of the management staff she was told the 'person is new'. He also claims he would like to help, but remains unwilling to state how in writing. I have asked in my mail for a postal address where a summons may be delivered, but I am still awaiting a response.

Been waiting since July 17 2009 for a response
Two and a half months ago I used this forum to complain about Vodacom's 3G service. I received a cut and paste response that they would respond to my complaint. To date I have heard nothing from them. I am keeping a record of every 3G problem I encounter, which I will forward to ICASA. My phone contract is up for renewal and I'm seriously considering moving over to their competitors. As for my 3G contract, which Vodacom is in breach of, I will cancel my debit order. I am absolutely certain, that they will contact me then.

Selling a phone they don't support
I bought a Gigabyte smart-i phone from them. The battery for the phone has been giving me problems. I then wanted to get a new one from Vodacom. I went to the Vodashops in and around Johannesburg they could not help me and they didn't even know the make even though I had bought the phone from them. I then logged calls with their call centre; they didn't get back to me for a month and within that month I was the one calling them to check if they had found the battery. Eventually after a month of frustration with call centre agents who took me back and forth, I was phoned by a regional officer who informed me that there was nothing they could do to help me I must just buy a new phone.

I have been holding on for 15 minutes now to try and get some feedback
I am trying to get through to the Vodacom Direct call center. I have been holding on for 15 minutes now to try and get some feedback about the progress of my application. I reckon that is too long to wait.

Bad service during contract renewal
4 hours were wasted at Vodaworld to upgrade and renew contract. The centre at Midrand was visited on Saturday 3 October 2009. The Vodaworld attendant was disinterested, unsmiling and clearly hates his job. After standing in a queue for very long we were unable to get a brochure as Vodaworld only had one copy. Only one phone was available but sadly again we couldn't view it and was referred to another shop of the supplier. Coming back we again had to queue and when we finally got to the front of the queue, the attendant advised that they were out of stock.Does the above indicate complacency on Vodacom's part to service the needs of the customer? If Saturday is an example as to how customers are treated at Vodacom's flagship operation, then the answer must surely be yes.

Calls after sim swap still charged
My phone was stolen, and the %$*&%$ who took the phone ran up a huge bill of international calls (about R6000). I went into Sandton City Vodashop to have the sim locked, and was told that it had been done and that the new sim would be active in three hours. Apparently the Vodashop was actually unable to swap the sim because the sim was locked... (i.e. no calls can be made from the sim) The following day when I still could not use my new sim, I called vodacom, at about 9, and was told that the sim swap had just been done, but that the phone was now definitely locked. In fact, calls were still made on the line until three hours after that, when the sim swap actually happened. Vodacom personnel told me that it was not my fault, and that the vodashop should refund me. The vodashop owner was very helpful, and admitted that it was definitely not my fault, and pursued it as far as he could, to no end. So despite everyone agreeing that it was not my fault that all the international calls were made after I requested the sim lock and swap, Vodacom still charges me for the calls. I call that theft!

It's nearly 3 months since I complained and nothing has been done
I have contacted the Vodacom customer care on the 13 July '09 with regards to a signal problem. I was given a reference number and was told that a technician would get back to me within a week. After a week I contacted them again asking if the problem has been looked into and the consultant told me that there was nothing on the sysytem and she would put a message in for a technician to contact me. The next day a technician called me to say that they are still looking into the matter and they will keep me updated. After about two weeks I asked my husband to call and he was told that they are looking into the problem and that vodaconm have received calls from other residents complaining about this problem. It's nearly 3 months since I complained and nothing has been done. The signal is so bad in my area that everytime I receive a call I have to go outside and the signal is still so S**t. I cant even use my 3G card 'coz of the pathetic signal. People that visit here that are on other networks don't have a problem!!! I have resorted to applying for a Telkom line and surprisingly enough Telkom was even quicker then VODACOM and yet we seem to think the worst of TELKOM...

Vodacom has forgotten about their customers & only worry about their pockets
Not sure why Vodacom has a helpdesk, I have just spent just over two hours on a pphone to Vodacom & nothing has been resolved. I've tried to add a new line to the existing business contract we currently have. This was declined. I phoned the helpdesk to try & find out why the contract was declined. When phoning it was suggested that I speak to Kagiso @082 1946. They don't know who she is, but put me through to accounts, after repeating the same info, they suggested I speak to acquisitions dept, who in turn said Accounts are not doing their work properly & I should speak to them. I spoke to Godfrey at accounts & he said I should be speaking to accounts - Guys, I really don't care about your internal conflicts in the company, please be considered to the Customer. I received an sms saying the new contract has been approved. Phoning to try & clarify the conflicting information, I was told I never received this sms (082 1941) I have the sms to prove it. Seems like Vodacom has forgotten about their Customers & only worry about their pockets.

Birthday specials that do not exist
Vodacom's birthday specials were advertised from the 1st to the 4th of october, But today they are out of stock and are not going to be back ordering. How can you advertise some thing like this and then not want to assist those that are willing to pay for the services.
i drove over 130km's one way to vodaworld to get the special (as your call centre is useless) only to be told that they have run out of stock and will not be back ordering. No signs were out until the group i was with started asking questions. You lost a potential 6 clients today. and will lose my business
When my contracts have run out i will not be renewing with vodacom. its the second time in a year that they have dissapointed me.
