Vodacom has my money and I am unable to effectively use the product that I have paid for
I have already followed this matter up with the Vodacom customer care centre. However, I am not satisfied with the conditions of the use and purchase of data bundles. The bundle expires at the end of the following month. If I buy a bundle the last day of the month, it expires at the end of the next month. In effect that bundle only lasts a month and a day. Surely a more equitable solution would be for the bundle to be valid for 60 days from purchase?
My use is varied and I am sometimes out the country for a while on short notice. This means that any unused data expires and I am unable to use what I have paid for (stoleninvalidated by Vodacom). Data does not “expire” like some perishable goods!
When I buy prepaid airtime to convert to a data bundle the amounts available at various outlets do not coincide with the cost of the cost of bundles. This means that the airtime is unused unless I take the sim card out of the modem and place it in my cell phone (which has its own sim card on cantract). So Vodacom has my money and I am unable to effectively use the product that I have paid for.

Vodacom's customer care must rank as the worst in the Republic
I have a DSTV contract with Vodacom. They have debited my monthly payments from my credit card for the past two years or so. Suddenly on 1 Oct 09 my DSTV was disconnected. Called Vodacom to enquire and was told my bank rejected the debit order for Oct 09. Called my bank, was informed Vodacom presented incorrect details for the debit order, that's why it was rejected.
Have tried for 2 days now to get hold of the DSTV accounts dept at Vodacom with NO luck. Tried for 3 hours yesterday and today for 5 hours, their customer care line disconnects the moment you are to be transferred to a consultant, after holding the line for almost 20 minutes at a time. It got better later on, when the voice prompt at customer care declared 'due to unforseen circumstances this service is not available'. I am without my DSTV service from 1 Oct and the earliest I might get hold of them is 5 Oct. They did not have the decency to inform me of the problem, just went ahead and cut my service and now I must sort out the rubbish that they, Vodacom, have caused. Vodacom's customer care must rank as the worst in the Republic. Why don't they close it, it will make no difference? Absolutely useless.

Ridiculous repairs and return
Around a year and one month ago I got an HTC P3300 on contract. Loved it. Then this year it started having issues. So far I've had to send it in for repairs three or four times - either for whitescreening problems or freezing. Lately it's stopped reading any SD card that I put in - which pretty much renders the phone useless as none of my applications run or can be run - terrific.
I sent the phone in, it stayed away for 9 working days (which is over the 7 promised by Vodacom) and when it was returned nothing had been done - apparently there was no problem. Unfortunately it still doesn't read any SD cards. I've tested the cards in other phones, laptops etc and they work fine.
So now what, I send it back AGAIN and lose my phone for another 9 days? What will it take for Vodacom to replace this phone? How many problems does it need to have? This is getting ridiculous.

I think it is so poor that they A: charge you for a call to them. B: Never answer the phone
I applied for the new blackberry curve on vodacom's website about a week ago, it said that i will get a response from them soon (48hrs). I did not hear from them, and decided to send an email to sales team (email provided). I have tried to phone them, you get through to a voice recording saying that you must have your ref. number ready, well, I dont know what ready it, because you could decay before they ever answer the phone...So no luck phoning, I then checked by chance my current airtime balance, and to my surprise, I have spent almost R50 on the calls to them, non of which have been answered. I think it is so poor that they A: charge you for a call to them. B: Never answer the phone!
I dont know why I dont take my business else where...

This is unacceptable and a waste of time
I got e-mails from Shafiek Wyngaard informing me that a consultant will be in contact which never happened. I had to send himher another e-mail telling himher that no one has contacted me yet. I then received an e-mail from Abigail Julius saying that they have liaised with a consultant at their Vodacom Direct Help desk and requested that they must contact me urgently which never happened.
Vodacom is a big company and I was hoping that they'll treat clients with respect and professionaly but clearly i was wrong. It really get's confusing whether they don't have enough staff or maybe unprofessional and unskilled staff or they just ignore their clients.
I have never struggled before with other networks and I thought that I would get the same service from Vodacom. I don't see a necessity for them to advertise whereas they fail to deliver. This is unacceptable and a waste of time.

Been waiting a month for my iphone 3gs
A month ago I decided to bring my business to vodacom by porting from cellc. The only reason I did this was because Vodacom is the sole supplier of the iPhone. After numerous attempts to find out what is going on I have still not been able to find out any information regarding the availability. My previous contract is about to run out and so far my decision to pad Vodacom's profit margin has been met with nothing but regret. I am happy I haven't actually signed with Vodacom, so I still have options.
I would love to know how long I will still have to wait for this phone. with every passing day it seems to become a little less worth it

I am really sorry I switched mobile operators and am furious at this disgusting service
I ported my cellphone number to Vodacom in order to get a contract with the new 3G S iphone. I received the SIM card within 4 days and was ported in the same amount of time, of course... this is how they make their money!!! However now ONE MONTH later I still don't have my new phone. I am really sorry I switched mobile operators and am furious at this disgusting service. On top of that their coverage is shocking, I was on Cell C previously and their network was 10 times better.

No response after 4 months
I still wonder if a response I got from Vodacom's Representative through hellopeter it was just to hold my mouth. I expected a 24 hours feedback from the investigation as stated but no response to-date. This is absolute derailed service. It feels so unfair to treat a more than 10 years loyal customer.

They are taking all of us for a ride
I noticed on my statements that Vodacom has been charging me for those look4me, etc... services for the last 2 years. No where did I accept any or sign any agreement to enable those services.
I phoned Vodacom and informed them of this, they immediately canceled the services and sent me an SMS that they will investigate this and that someone will get back to me within 24 hours. Well it is now 48 hours later and still no-one has come back to me.
Please people check your Vodacom statements... they are taking all of us for a ride. I would love for Vodacom to present me with the signed contract where I agreed to these services. Being a big corporate they don't give a *** about us, as long as they sucker us out of our money.

Expecting so much more
For almost a year I have been using an iPhone 3G 8Gb handset with all the features (internet, mail etc) working perfectly. Recently I ported my number from Autopage to Nashua Mobile and the service was suspended. I have tried *111# only to discover my phone is undiscoverable. Trying to set it up via Vodacom4me also produced that there are no settings for this device, funny how it worked for a year and then just disappear… Anyway, my (main) complaint is with the call centre. After hanging on for 65 minutes without being helped I was cut off. Still sitting with an excellent office tool without any office features. Please Vodacom, get your staff to answer their phones and do what they get paid for, I’m not asking for miracles only for the service I pay for.
