I was a fool to even consider Vodacom to begin with
Even though Vodacom did follow up on my complaint (11 September 2009), it was only when it had been escalated to this point that this matter seemed to receive ANY kind of attention. HOWEVER, that being said, two weeks after posting my initial complaint, I am STILL no closer to having received my new handset. As a potential new business client I am utterly appalled! Vodacom Direct’s gimmick is “Free Sim, Free Connection, Free Delivery, No Hassles … Isn’t it EASY”. NO IT HAS NOT BEEN!!! LIES, LIES, LIES! IT HAS BEEN AN ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE! I've decided to stay with my current service provider as I have NEVER experienced this type of service. I was a fool to even consider Vodacom to begin with. MTN is indeed the BETTER CONNECTION!

Stay away from this awful company
I sent in my phone on the 28th August to get the cover fixed for the second time & the volume button to be fixed & then ordered a stylise for my htc diamondn phone. They clled me five days later quoting me for the cover & the stylise & I rejected the cover, because i do not know why they could not fix it because they were able to fix it the first time around. I then went to Umhlanga to get an update & I was told that my phone is in JHB & it would be delivered in 7 days. Went back after 9 days and they gave me back my phone because they told me that they could not get me a stylise & I also found out that the phone had not gone for repairs. I then called the manager Sarika & she said that she would attend to my case and the phone will be fixed in 5 days. I called them 7 days later & was told that they are still waiting for parts. I asked to speak to the manager and she said that she would call me back & i am still waiting.

The truth is that the service at that place ***, someone really needs to look into that place, otherwise Vodacom will be loosing a lot of their customers including myself.

Pathetic display of customer service and a poor reflection of vodacom
Today 10092009 I had the unfortunate experience of trying to sign up a vodacom contract at the Metro Store in Vodaworld. I applied on Sat 05th Sep for the Nokia 2630 with a free TV and DVD. They claimed that there was no srock and asked me to come back during the week. After numerous phone calls I spoke to the manager Ozayr Carrim, who advised that there was stock and I should come in. Having taken time off work to go to Vodaworld, I approached Ali Moosa(sales rep) asking for assistance. He was rude and arrogant demanding to know who assisted me on Sat, but I was unsure. He became extremely irate when I could not remember. I asked why this would be an issue and if he could please assist, given my limited time. He was trying quite reluctantly to find an excuse not to help and kept sending me elsewhere for assistance in the store and proceeded to raise his voice in a condescending tone. I asked for the manager and demanded an apology for this rude behavior and even then Mr Ali Moosa refused to admit that he was rude and kept making excuses for his behavior. This is a pathetic display of customer service and a poor reflection of vodacom.

No contact from service provider
Two weeks ago i applied for a vodacom contract via vodacom direct, two days later I got a response saying that my application has been approved and that a consultant would contact me within another two days. The email also stipulated that should no one make contact within the two days i should email [Hidden Web Address] which i did, still no response. I then tried calling the contact number 0861123123 and after holding for ten minutes, for each of the five times i called, no one answered. I have no idea who to speak to or who to contact and I am unbelievably frustrated!!!

I am sitting with a broken phone, while still paying for my contract
I have 2 Motorola Z8 handsets. One of them is shutting itself down so often that it is unusable. Vodacom did repair it, but after getting it back its condition has not improved at all. I still have a few months to go on my contract, and I took good care of the phone. Now I am sitting with a broken phone, while still paying for my contract. Time to dust off one of my OLD phones.

What the hell is happening to my faxes
This is my story. About 2mnths ago my account was locked due to non paymement. This I admit is my fault, however I have being trying to rectify this ever since. I made the payment on the 29th July 2009. When I called the call centre I was told to fax my payslip, 1mnth Bank statement and a blank vodacom sim card. Which I did. I then received a call on the 20th of August telling me that they have not received my fax. I then re faxed for the attention of David Kutunela. I received another call again from somebody telling me again that they had not received my fax, I then re faxed again. Zoe Mabidikane then calls me asking for a reactivation form which was never asked before. I was exteremley upset but refaxed again on the 27th August. I received a call back stating that once again my fax was not received, by this time I was furious. What the hell is happening to my faxes, I then said that I will not drop the phone until they confirm that they received the fax. Which Zoe confirmed they did and promised to call me back once everything was completed. Today Nthabiseng Keka calls to say that there is another doc missing. N refused to call a manger leader to take my call.

They are advertising a product yet when you purchase it then suddenly it is not available
I was recently advised by Vodacom that my contract is due for an upgrade and Vodacom was most happy to do this and take my money yet when it came to delivering the phone they have been advertising- the new Apple iPhone 3Gs, suddenly there is no stock across the whole country. They can’t give me an idea of when stock will become available – they can’t even tell me when they will be able to tell me when they will find out when stock will be released – no information available at all. This is false advertising- they are advertising a product yet when you purchase it then suddenly it is not available and even though we are on the new upgraded contract now we don’t have the phone which is not how the contract works.

Advanced Data Bundles being sold, but are untested
I was told about a new product by Vodacom's Data Call Center, called Advanced Data Bundles, while I was wanting to buy a data bundle for my cellphone. According to the agent, one of the features of these new data bundles, was that one can achieve higher data transfer rates. I decided to purchase an advanced bundle, but was disappointed to see that the data transfer rate was still as slow as before. Upon querying this, I was told by another agent that these new bundles was as yet untested on cellphones, and that 3G data cards would also receive priority within a certain cell. Thus, I was conned into buying a product at almost twice the price, with the same poor performance. This is totally unacceptable!

Damaged Blackberry
I purchased a blackberry on the 19th June 2010 through a Vodacom Weekender Package. Unfortunately the phone I received that day lasted 12 days after being switched onto the system/network/fully functional, and it went in for repairs for +- 3 weeks on the 4th July 2010 for display (only) )(it should also have been for power). After much bickering, I received what Vodacom likes to call an “exchanged refurbished” handset (in other words a second hand blackberry) which was also faulty and then had to go in for repairs on the 17th August 2010. I received another “exchanged refurbished” handset after that, which also then had to go in for repairs on the 1st September 2010. I’ve gone through 3 blackberry’s already, expecting the 4th, perhaps I will get it by the end of this week, who know. I’ve asked them repeatedly for a new phone, but they deny over and over again.

- why do you not allow them to give their customers brand new blackberry phones it their customer has had so many issues with in a time period of 2 and half months

- why have I been advised that no matter how many times I bring the blackberry in for repairs, be it 10 or 18, I still will not receive a new fully functional phone, and I still have to pay for the contract when I don’t even have the phone

i've heard the 7 day return story far too many times, but does sending a phone back 3 times and getting 3 second hand phones in place of your original brand new handset also not constitute that you should get a new out of the box phone for all the inconvenience and trouble caused?

In 24 hour time card still not activated
I've upgraded my cell phone and receive 'mastercards giftvouchers'. they said it will be activated in 24 hours time. When my wife went 96 hours later to do some shopping, she had to stand with a red face because the card was still invalid, because it was not activated!
