Vodacom has really such a bad reputation and consistently delivers bad experiences
I have 2 numbers on my contract and spend a fortune on my phone bill everymonth, you'd think that one would at least get decent service for one's loyalty. I requested via vodacom customer care online to deactive the Blackberry service on my 2nd number, but what do they do? They deactive it for both numbers. I called them yesterday to report the problem and was told that I am mistaking and that it is active. Surprise surprise, it is not. I'm not getting any mails on my Blackberry. I phoned this morning at 11h39 to report the issue again, and was told they would phone me back immediately. Still waiting. I phoned again at 13h47 to report the issue and was told sorry their system is down. I asked if they can phone me back once it is up and running and was told no they can't. How useless is that? They *** my request in the first place and now I have to phone after them the whole time? Absolutely pathetic. I don't even know why I'm surprised, Vodacom has really such a bad reputation and consistently delivers bad experiences. Absolutely shocking.

3G signal broken for over 2 months
I have a Vodacom 3G contract. About 2 months ago I started experiencing connection problems. The connection “times-out” and leaves web pages hanging. To get the connection working I have to disconnect and reconnect (every 1 – 15 minutes). Customer service has said there is a prob with the network itself. Proof of this is: 1) The signal strength is not the problem, even on “very good” the constant time-outs occur, 2) I have tested the connection on another computer, 3) my close friend who also lives in Buccleugh experiences the exact same problem (he’s escalated to ICASA). The problem has not been resolved despite 5 customer service calls including 'escalations to the correct department', talking to supervisors, and sms's saying that the network problem has been resolved. The amount of time I have waisted testing, trying to resolve or otherwise work-around this problem is inculculable. My complaint is with senior management who, it appears, knowingly abide by a breach of contract. I’m angry. Is Vodacom going to refund me for 2 months breach of contract? Do I also have to report the company to ICASA? Class action…?

Vodacom Direct just don't care
The Call center never answers any calls and i'm sick of being on hold for more that 40min at a time 'If I have to hear that GD Toto song 1 more time... I'm going to loose it'
So on the 1st of August 2009 I ported my number ' Which was a pleasurable experience.' Then I was informed that they didn't have stock of the iPhone 3Gs which was fine and I would wait.
I then received an email from Olga Moholo informing me that the stock had arrived and would be delivered on Friday 21st August 2009 or Monday the 24th. then explained to her that it must be Friday as I was away on holiday on Monday, then guess what? RAM delivered on Monday when I wasn't there, they then deducted the amount of R648.00 for something I don't own. Thats when all the fun began trying to get hold of someone for some answers and re-deliver. It was a nightmare!!!
So after they told me they gave my phone to another person, I just gave up and said 'I don't want to be part of Vodacom and they just don't care about the individual, they make so much more money from PrePaid.
Now I'm trying to get my R648.00 back, its been 3 weeks now and I NO luck. Just give me my money back!!!

Unprofessional service and information
I went to Vodashop Cape Gate to enquire about a data package that included a laptop. I told the consultant that I am an exsisting contract holder of Vodacom and would like to add this data package, so I had to apply for it. He then told me in a couple of hours it will be approved or denied. 3 hours later I called and asked them if it was approved. Liesl answered the phone and told me that it will take at least 24hrs. The next morning I called and Stefan told me that they have a backlog and it will take a week.
I was in the area and went to the shop and within minutes they then told me that it is approved. I pointed out the laptop that I want, but as my luck goes it is out of stock. I asked them when they will get the stock in and he told me latest on Thursday (next day) I then called in the morning and Stefan answered and said that it normally takes a week for the stock to arrive. I then called 5 hours later and Liesl answered the Phone telling me the stock did not arrive yet and that she has no idea when it will arrive.

What is the use for technicians if they do not know what they are doing and what is happening to the money i payed, and got no service
Gave in Nokia cell phone with problem playing music files. Told me they would send it to technicians to do a software upgrade. Waited three weeks and had to pay R150 for repairs. Did payment and waited three more days for phone. When phone arived it still had the same problem and seems like nothing was done about it. Told the lady at vodashop that it was having the same problem, she said she will send it again and it will take nother 18 days. It was unexeptable as i needed my phone. Went to one of our shops in sasolburg who does repairs on phone. There was an IC replaced and the phone was fixed within 2 hours. It costed me R200.
My question is what is the use for technicians if they dont know what they are doing and what is happening to the money i payed, and got no service.

Overall attitude was a do not care attitude
On the 4th of September 2009. I applied for a my meg 250 contract at Hi Fi Corp in Umhlanga. This would have cost me R298 per month. Vodacom declined my application for this deal, but approved me for another deal at R438. I was given no explaination and after many hours of waiting the contract was approved at R298. At no point did anyone bother to check the coverage. After a day, I had no connection. I reported this to the call center. At this point I even realised that they had captured my details incorrectly. One consultant told me that There should be coverage another said no. This went on for 4 days. I recieved a call from a consultant in Durban, he actually said that Vodacom would not help me because I dont spend enough money with Vodacom. The overall attitude was a do not care attitude. I may not spend alot of money, but I am a customer non the less.

They just lost a loyal client of 10yrs
I’ve been a client of Vodacom for about 10yrs now. My father had to sign for me since I just started Varsity. 3.5yrs later I requested a transfer of ownership. I received confirmation and the money was deducted from my account etc. Recently my banking details changed so I informed Vodacom. I was informed that the account is still in my father’s name, 6.5yrs later! I spoke to Anel Coetzee, the Manager of the Email Contact Center. She requested a copy of my ID and proof of residence. She said she will get it sorted.
Monday Anel informs me that they will need my father’s signature, AGAIN, for the change of ownership... ridiculous! They can give me a new cellphone every 2 yrs without my father’s knowledge but I can’t update my details? Unfortunately there was no other way, so I reluctantly agreed. She then offered me a month’s free subscription for the inconvenience caused, which I declined. I don’t want any freebies, just fair service! Yesterday I was informed I will be liable for an R131.58 administration fee for the change of ownership! It wasn’t my slip up! After I complained Vodacom said they will foot the bill. Sorry, it’s too late. You have just lost a loyal client of 10yrs!

Account de-activated without permission
I have a personal cell account ( 0795275085) About 4 months ago I noticed that Vodacom had stopped taking off my monthly subscription fee. I immeadiately phoned customer services and to make them aware of the problem. They asked me for my Credit Card number and confirmed it was correct and they were not sure whay this had happened but thye they would debit my account accordingly. After another 2 months I noticed they had not been debitting my account again and went through the same process as above. The amount outstanding for the 3 months was then debited in one go. Few days after that I recieve a call from someone who did not identfy themselves but wanted my ID so they could re-activate my account. I eventually got through to pre-leagal who apologised for the error and they would re-activate account at a fee of R280 plus R100 for new sim card. I agrued saying that considering the error was on there side why should i have to pay. Eventually through frustration I agreed to pay the sm card but not the re-activation. The Lady ( Porsha ) spoke to her supervisor and agreed. I was subsequently billed the monthly fee plus reactivation. They now refuse to re-imbures my R280!
