Worst service in the country
I have been trying to get a response from someone who have actual ability to make decisions. I have been calling the VODACOM 0821944 service repair centre since Friday without any satisfactory response. Empty promises from the call centre operators that the supervisor will call me comes to nothing. One brief discussion with the supervisor lead to an empty promise that his manager will call me. This did not happen.

My query relates to an Apple iPhone which has been faulty in the way it connects to the network from the day I got it. It is a known problem that a large number of iPhones do not connect to the network properly and drops calls and the network intermittently. This is not detrimental but is a source of constant irritation, so much so that I eventually booked the phone in for repair or in the case of the iPhone nothing can get done to it in SA so it should be replaced. 7 Days later I get the call that the liquate indicator on the phone shows red. The phone has never been in the water or has in any way suffered damage or loss of operability due to liquid.

No one is getting back to me that I can have a satisfactory conversation with. Worst service in the country!

Someone opened an account at Vodacom using my ID
Someone opened an account at Vodacom using my ID without my authority. All this came to my attention when a consultant from Vodacom called to ask me to pay my account. I did not apply for a contract phone or signed any application for a phone with Vodacom. So i ask the lady to send me the copy of the contract but she refused to do so, she requested me to go to the nearest Police Station to open a case and fax the documents to Vodacom legal department. But at the police Station they ask do i have documents to prove to them the fraud, well since i was refused to be given the contract copies i could not open the case. So now i do not know what to do since i have been set from pillar to post and back and forth what to do now???? My name is been listed on ITC for bad payment which i cannot apply for finance because of this bad record with ITC. My frustration is not only with ITC for a bad name but with Vodacom opening an accout without Vetting the application. I would like vodacom to send me a copy of that contract so that i can see what is happening and proceed to lay charge against whoever that had a nerve to use my ID and take a phone using my name.

Its easy to sign up - but pay up is a problem
I took out a cellphone insurance with Vodasure at the Vodacom Shop in Melville campus square. From then on - i was religiously paying for my premium, money paid on time and never a problem. Recently I fell victim to the crime of JHB with my fone being jacked from me. So i went to the police station and reported my phone stolen, now the catch with Vodasure - is that they are standing on a pedestal and saying that i had a wrong sim card in the phone when it went missing. Granted, I understand such - even though such was never explained to me and according to FAIS - i stand to be corrected - but those who are service providers need to explain fine print of the contract - i was told to sign and I signed. Now my phone went missing with my pre-paid sim card, the contract sim - which was the one listed in the insurance was damaged and since my mother took out the contract on my behalf, only she could do the swap not me. Hence i opted to use my other - which did not hurt anyone - i mean - the imei number that is on the insurance is the same as that of the fone that got jacked. Its a rip off - explain these terms before luring us to signing up. Such is not right maan.

Call Limit
I was advised when i called in that there was a data call limit on my 3G card, so i was happy to let my daughter use it for school research etc. but got a nasty surprise when the debit order went through! I called in again and was told that there was no call limit on this data line. There had been one before but they removed it (i was not notified that this had been removed), so as a result am now sitting with huge debit orders!! I have put a call limit on now but what about the accounts i have to pay??!!

They just lost one of my 4 contracts
Tried to get an early upgrade on one of my four (4) contracts with Vodacom only to be told that it cannot be done as I do not spend more than R800.00 on the one line!!! Well if thats the case it seems the more you spend the more aooreciative Vodacom is !!! Low spenders means nothing. You guys have just lost one of my 4 contracts.

Rip off on my data bundle
I entered into a data bundle contract for 1Gig.I exceeded it and heavily paid but sussequently increased to 5Gigs. Since OctNov 2008 I did not use all the 5Gigsbut not more than 2Gigs up to May 2009 so have lost almost 21Gigs. In June 2009 (paid in July) I used in excess of 5Gigs and heavily charged almost R11685 in July 2009 (paid in Aug) I was also heavily charged almost R6000. Noting the 21Gigs I have lost I regard this as a blatent Ripoff. I just want a refund, and I hope that the management of Vodacom will consider this communication important.

Your 3G service is a disgrace
Your 3G service is a disgrace. This complaint, like the countless i have left with call centers will no doubt fall on deaf ears. Vodacom has grown to the size where it no longer needs to listen to complaints of its so called valued clients! I can get online maybe 35% of the time. I only work on Prepaid data bundles to avoid signing yet another contract with you. When the bundles run out, i get no notice or warning, and my airtime is happily eaten away at your OUTRAGEOUS and INFLATED out of bundle rates. To see R900.00 go down into the mysterious pool of unexplained billing in one week is just a reminder that when a company reaches the size of Vodacom, it no longer is accountable to the complaints if its so called valued customers. I have been using this service for three years. After this last week of loosing countless working hours to down time, i have but the bullet and decided that even TELKOM, is a better option than this rip off service that does not deliver and charges me a fortune to wait around and pray that South Africa's leading telecommunications company might actually deliver a service worth 1% of what it charges for. Its an Absolute DISGRACE! Shame on you.

Promised a different modem on upgrade
When upgrading my Data Bundle I was promised a High speed modem 7.2 not the current 3.6 Modem I had from the previous upgrade.

Found out later the modem I received was a 3.6. and I was upgraded to the wrong package. Took a month to correct the bundle issue.I went back top the Vodashop where the manager said he would contact his supervisor. The Manager came back to me saying the person who helped me with the upgrade was not working there anymore (Not my problem!!). He said the supervisor said the modem is now used so they can not take it back. He also said I can buy new modem cash for R 899.00 not even a discount. That means I will be stuck with a 3.6 Modem for the next 2 years because an employee of Vodacom lied to me during the upgrade. I asked what difference it would have made if the employee was still working there, the modem would still not be new but used. The manager is passing the buck!!!

Bad attitude and failure to deliver
In response 2 reply from Vodacom 's Rashieda Jattiem, thanks for responding 2 my previous complaint. I have since cancelled my contract with vodacom due 2 the bad service experienced at Vodashop Cresta. When I cancelled the contract I asked for proof of cancellation, I was given a report on the transaction on which I could see that my request to activate 2 the correct number I made on Monday 31 Aug was only requested by them on the thursday around 12h, almost 3 days later. They made a mistake in the first place & then waited almost 3 days 2 put in the request 2 correct it & that was after I have informed them already telephonically & via email that I was going 2 cancel the contract. My number has been deactivated by vodacom since & will now take even longer 2 reconnect to cell c. Worst of all is even though it was their mistake, except for the apologetic salesperson, no one at the store said they were sorry, no one responded to my mail and no one contacted me 2 inform me of any reason why it was taking longer. I also find it unacceptable of management to laugh at customers behind their backs for getting upset when they failed to deliver a service, its rude & unprofessional!!!

Do not trust Vodacom or Blackberry to offer you any assistance
I recently traveled to Germany Hamburg area for business - via Dubai - and as a small venture fund manager I'm heavily dependent on my Blackberry service. Upon arrival in Dubai on Aug 08 this year on a stopover en-route to Germany I noticed my emails were not coming through on my Blackberry as expected - I travel regularly between Europe and the USA and I knew my Vodacom Blackberry service was set for International roaming. Upon arrival in Germany, a day later, the problem persisted. I immediately contacted explaining the problem. 24hrs later no response. One day later, I received a very tepid response. To make a very long story shorter, Vodacom Customer care and Vodacom was unable to solve the problem. I requested a refund on the recently purchased Blackberry Bold 9000 - and other requests for Vodacom to please come to the party and offer a solution. They are now simply ignoring me. WARNING - do not trust Vodacom or Blackberry to offer you any assistance. I have first hand and a costly experience. They refuse to answer me now - or provide any answers. ABSURD.
