They should be rated the worst customer service
The vodacom number have been using for quite a few years a few months ago i ported to cell c due to work related reasons and had to port back to vodacom. The port was done i had my vodacom number back i had to buy a new sim card and according to the call centre had to get it registered for rica at my nearest vodacom and they would activate my sim card aswell. I could get incoming calls, sms but was told my recharge service suspended. I go into the sanlam centre store a oldish guy tells me my sim has been registered and is activated.i need to call the call centre to find out the recharge service problem (bearing in mind i took off a day from work no work no pay) i call the call centre 5 diff agents tell me 5 different storys dont all the agents at vodacom all get the same training???so i went back to the vodacom store at another branch the one at the airport international cpt they inform me after tryin there best to assist me MY NR HAS BEEN DELETED FROM THE NETWORK, but no one at vodacom can give me a valid reason.they dont even have a reason the nr that is now off the network is a nr i use for work purposes when im on standby.

After the phone has now been 'repaired' 4 times and even swapped once, I still do not have a phone that works
I upgraded my 2 contracts a couple of months ago and one of the new phones that I was given, was faulty. This phone was sent in for repairs, but when I received it back about two weeks later, the phone had the same problem. The phone keeps dropping my calls. I then returned the phone the very next day and was sent back again for repairs, this time to Joburg as the Cape Town branch could not repair it.

Needless to say the phone came back from Joburg with the same problem. Two more trails on repairing the phone with still no hope in sight. We even tried a sim swop to see if this might help, but to no avail.

After the phone has now been 'repaired' 4 times and even swapped once, I still do not have a phone that works. I drove to Somerset West today to my nearest Vodacare shop( but they obviously dont really Care all that much) to get this thing sorted out, the best they could do for me is to have the phone repaired again. Whats the point, they've tried 4 times already???

Vodacom insist that I pay my account every month, and so ive been doing for the last how many years, but they are not prepared to give me a phone that actually work, which I pay for anyway.

No contact possible with Vodacom
Not able to contact Vodacom store in Vanderbijlpark for the last two days - phones either ring or out of order. Vaal Mall advise that phones not paid! Crazy for a store that sells phones not to have phones that are working! Tried to call now for two days, and unable to make any contact about a new phone that has a 7 day out of box guarantee for a phone that is problematic.

24 hour not 24 hours anymore
After having phoned the department responsible for porting at Vodacom several times over the last 4 days, a message on Hellopeter that was answered by Vodacom and the response it will take 24 hours given more than I can count and I am still using my Virgin sim. Why doesn't anyone at the Vodacom know what is going on. I have bought 3 sim cards at their request. It would give customers more confidence if everyone in the call centers and Vodacom stores had the same answers to concerns, answers that made sense not wildly outrageous claims that it takes 24 hours. Instead tell me I am number x in the queue to have my number ported, yours should be done in x hours. Or your port didn't go through because we didn't get to it instead of we had technical issues. I think that there is too big a void between call centers and the departments that actually deal with the physical issues at hand. When I call with a real issue I want real solutions not scripted responses. I am very irate at this point in time. So when I ask for the whole process to be cancelled I should not have been surprised with the response that it will take 24 hours. They can't even stop a process they can't complete...

Vodacom ripping off loyal customer on warranty
I have been a customer of Vodacom for ages. I have 2 family top up contracts, 2 weekender everyday contracts and 1 3G contract with them, five in total. I have just completed a transfer of a business 500 contract from my employer to myself, 6 contracts in all. On Saturday, 22 Aug 09, my gadget, a Nokia 6210 Navigator, went blank and dark on me in the middle of an sms I was typing. Since then, the LCD goes blank and dark when I slide it open, and lights back up when I slide it open. I took it to Vodacare Polokwane to have repaired, only to be told that it is liquid damaged. They gave me a report and told me to claim from my insurance, after they made me pay R57 against my protestations. I got the phone last August when I upgraded and it is still under warranty. When I claimed from Vodasure, I was told to pay R832.19, R500 of which I am told is the excess for liquid damage before I get a replacement phone. I refused to pay this amount. Why does Vodacom think they can bulldoze customers into paying exhorbitant excesses by declaring on their own that the phone is liquid damaged when it is still working but malfunctioning on the LCD?

They couldn't assist me with my problem since they did not have access to their own site
I phoned the customer support number to assist with a query I had on their website. They couldn't assist me with this since they did not have access to their own site!!! Eventually I figured out what was wrong and asked assistance on how to update certain fields on their website since its not auto-updating.

Then Vodacom customer care online help tells me that they don't support this modem and that it wont update. Yet it has updated automatically on many other sim cards we have.

Stay far away from them
Can you believe this - I have been struggling with Vodacom since February 2008 YES MORE THAN A YEAR AND A HALF NOW to update my account with ITC to reflect as CLOSED and STILL it's showing open and current on both TransUnion and Experian? Can a simple instruction really be that difficult?I've sent email upon email upon email and NOTHING happens. My last email to Alida Paddy on 30 June 2009 - whom I was informed deals with ITC related matters - went unanswered - typical of Vodacom. So please tell me how does one go about to get Vodacom to update details especially after more than a year and a half?Really I want this updated and sorted out TODAY as I think 18 months have been long enough to put up with the useless service or lack thereof on Vodacom's part.

Having been a contract subscriber for 10 years one would expect both Vodacom and Autopage to be able to provide some sort of service
Very excited when Vodacom via a FULL page ad in the Sunday Times at end of July announce release of new Iphone 3G S. Contact and visit Vodacom Service(sic)??? provider Altech Autopage on several occasions as to availibilty as I am due for an upgrade on my Talk 500s package. I am met with blank stares andor zero response. Don't know if, when, where this phone will be available and at what price. Surely if Vodacom advertise the release of the phone their service providers should have knowledge, supply and be able to provide at the price and conditions advertised on their website. Having been a contract subscriber for 10 years one would expect both Vodacom and Autopage to be able to provide some sort of service...

Ongoing 3G speed and network problems
I have finally lost my patience with Vodacom. I use their 3G datacard service for my Business internet and email connection, and have continual problems with the service from Vodacom, . Despite my connection reflecting HSDPA connection, it is impossible to maintain network connection, and it reflects a speed of only 50-200bps, making it impossible to even connect to the internet or download emails. Furthermore, network connection is 'dropped' as much as 10 times per hour.

I reported this problem to the Call centre on 11th August, again on 14th August and again 18th August 2009. Each time, this problem has not been resolved, yet I see on their webite, that my logged queries are all reflecting a 'closed' status. I continue to have this daily problem and my business is suffering dramatically.

Interesting to note that on 21 August, there was a 15 hour power failure in my area, but as I have a generator, I was able to operate my laptop for that entire period. Amazingly, I experienced perfect connection and perfect speed on that day...which I believe was due to 99% of network users in my area not being online and using Vodacom's network due to the power failure.
