Wachovia Bank Reviews

Overdraft dilemma
Hello everyone who has been shafted by Wachovia banks. It seems to me that Wachovia as a whole is setup to post, deposit, and transact monies in 'customer's' accounts as they please. I have now come to realize that not all overdrafts were my mathematical error. Oh and did you know that the 'On-line Banking' is only a 'tool' to help you with your money? Well it's sure nice to know that what I was looking at was a manifestation of what was actually happening with my well earned money. How come the bank has a different view of your money than what you can see from the comfort of your personal computer? Hear is my dilemma... On 4/14/08 I had exactly $59.11 in my checking account. I purchased breakfast at McDonald's -$2.12 So $59.11 -2.12 ------- $56.99 Had to have a bit of gas -$15.02 that's $56.99 -15.02 -------- $41.97 Now as you can see I have $41.97 in my account, mind you that McDonald's is in my 'Check Card Holds', but It shows deducted in my 'Available Balance'. So now I wanted to make dinner for my fiance, so I pick up a few things at my local grocery store... Well as any human being may do I spend exactly $43.64 getting food. OH NO! I have went over my balance by $1.67. But I do not panic, I simply deposit $10.00 into am ATM and feel that I have covered myself from the headache of any penalties. Not exactly. I am slammed with $35.00! Then they charge me another overdraft of $35.00! All the while I had put in the $10.00 to cover my little overage of $1.67, Wachovia charged me $70.00 for this slight overage! I really feel that the bank manipulated the monies being deposited and posted to benefit Wachovia. And when I went to the bank to dispute my case the bank manager printed out a copy of how my money was received which was not the order that I had spent it in. Even my fiance who is an Electrical Engineer could not decipher the terminology and jumping from 'Available' and 'Holds' math that the bank man was doing. Wow do they go to school to learn how to work numbers to screw people out of the money they trust banks to keep safe?

Discrimination and mental abuse
Wachovia opened up a checking account with me. They said I had to have $50.00 in my account for a week; which I think is 7 days! Okey I did that, and they said they would order a check card for me. Well, they said it would come to my home address 4001 Durham Ln.

I went to the bank today a teller said that the card was sent back to the bank because they showed an address at Old Potters Rd. Then, the teller said it will be here today.Guess what? No bank check card in the mailbox. I feel I have been discriminated against. Every since I’ve been dealing with banks in Charlotte, I seem to have my accounts prolonged over into having to deal with i.d.theft, money being missing from my account, and insufficient funds.

I would like to take a small action suit against this particular company for mental abuse; thinking they would be sending me my bank card after several attempts to keep an account open.

Took deposit made in error
Our firm made an error. We inadvertently completed a deposit ticket for a new client to Wachovia with an account number that belonged to a prior client. Upon finding the error we provided Wachovia with copies of all of the checks deposited along with the deposit receipt. Wachovia did their research and stated that they had taken the money out of the bank account that the money had been deposited to in error.

They then proceeded to tell us that although the money had been taken out of the account they could not remit the money back to the rightful owner. Even though the checks were all made payable to an association which did not have an account with Wachovia they responded by stating that they require that we contact the individual check signers for each check deposited and request that they contact their respective bank to request a refund from Wachovia individually.

Put a levy on unemployment
Wachovia placed a levy on my unemployment funds. Then they bounced a check that came through and charged me another 35.00. Then the business i wrote the check to charged me 37.00 for the check. The courts did release the funds back to me that were being held by the levy stating STATE LAW cannot levy unemployment funds which i provided proof to the courts that the funds were unemployment funds. They did have the bank release the funds back to me but Wachovia decided to keep 100 for processing fees. I still had to pay the bounced check fees to the business i wrote the check to. The only people that kept the money was Wachovia and that is ILLEGAL.

Predatory practices-Even small businesses are not immune
7 year. Tens of thousands of dollars. Totally fed up. The last straw came this week. Business has been improving, I think we will end up surviving this mess if Wachovia doesn't end up destroying us first. The biggest challenge has been that we never took a line of credit to cover cash flow. We make product, run deliveries, then have to wait up to 3 weeks to get paid by some of our companies. But here's where this bank comes in: when I get the checks in THEY HOLD THE FREAKIN CHECKS UP TO ANOTHER WEEK before I can use the funds to pay bills and my contractors! I have had a couple branch mgrs who would override the holds but mysteriously all of them have been let go...likely for having ETHICS. That's not the worst of it. Two things: first, I could see the holds if we had returned checks written to us but in 7 years we've never had one single return check. Never. So why the holds? Because we've been overdrawn in the last year. Why have we been overdrawn? BECAUSE THESE RETARDS PUT WEEK¡LONG HOLDS ON OUR MONEY AND WE HAVE BILLS TO PAY! Then the third angle of this picture. When you make a deposit it can show up next day as hard posted and then the next day be reversed to a HOLD for a WEEK! So it posted, you thought you had the money in there, so you pay bills, the deposit is reversed and held, now things are bouncing and rolling up fees. This infuriates me. We are trying to survive this economic disaster Oby caused and now our own BANK is trying to suck off us! So then the piece de resistance? This all happened this week, the day before Thanksgiving. I found it when I went to pull MY pay to do my holiday meal shopping after having paid all my bills, as any good biz owner would do, only to find my account OD by $300 with another $75 in fees to hit last night PLUS the deposit remainder that they are holding which is my pay for the week. Total appx $600 lost. I called one branch because most mgrs were off, and was told only the branch where we deposited could lift the hold. So I called the Signal Hill Statesville NC branch and spoke with I believe his name was Brian (hard to keep track with all the people they've fired) and this cold-hearted fool totally refused to release the hold because his job would be on the line if the check was not paid, never mind that in 7 years we've not had one return check written US. So, no money for my pay this week AND we're out all those fees. Thanks for a Happy Thanksgiving this week because of the TURKEY at the Signal Hill branch. One footnote I do need to make is that Donna at the branch was a star for at least trying to reason with this fool but even she couldn't a pulse in this cold-hearted twit. Thanks Donna for trying. Moral of the story? From talking to several other fellow biz people trying to survive who had been with Wachocia, GO TO ONE OF THE SMALL LOCAL BANKS. They appreciate you. They don't constantly change the rules to make fees off people and to suit their own bottom line. I, for one am doing just that next week. Maybe if enough people wise up and jump ship on them they will get the message. Especially if they see their bottom line affected.

Fraud
I need the pictures plus biographical database from BOX 1000. Meagon Roy absolutely refuses to help me learn who owns the Box 1000 so I can retrieve the information/documents. Our Writing Club has receipts going back to 2000AD showing we paid rent on the Box. I suppose, actually, this is larcany. Wachovia has taken money. They do not provide the promised service.( DF _ Paid Archivist of Seven Scripts AL6010:11.23).

Took 8 weeks for deposit
I own a small business and we have a customer in Canada. This customer pays us by check, in US dollars, but from a Canadian bank. We have been depositing their checks in our Wachovia account for several years. Typically Wachovia has deposited these checks in a week or less. With our last check it took these crooks 8 weeks to deposit the check. How do you think they would react if someone help up their funds for 8 weeks? Kind of tough to run a business when my bank acts like a common thug with a gun to my head. Needless to say I am looking for a new bank. Wachovia is now part of Wells Fargo. Will it make a difference? I doubt it. I hope they rot in ***.

Over drawn fee
To whom it may concern,
I did make a schedule online with Wachovia for 9/22/10 of 2 payments, the reason I make 9/22 because I know I will be ready to pay that amount by 9/22. My husband is a server and he makes money every day. Wachovia pull that amount the day before which is 9/21, which is my fund wasn't ready for it. And they did charge overdrawn fee of $35.00. I think this is very unfair for us like low income family. Please help me out. I cannot afford an attorney to fight with them. Please let me know.
This is my copy of bank account,
My Account Activity:
Sep 21 Other OVERDRAFT/UNAVAILABLE FUNDS FEE 35.00 -51.55

overdraft fees
I have been banking with several banks for over 40 years, all over the world. When it comes to charging fees to its customers, Wachovia is by far the worst bank I ever dealt with. While most other banks show debits (ie from debit cards) instantly on your online account or balance, Wachovia takes anywhere from 24 to 48 hours. That includes charges made on your debit card by vendors who have your card on file with you not knowing that a charge may or has occured. Subsequently, you may find your account negative by a few dollars, and the very same second Wachovia will debit you their $35 overdraft charge - on a debit card charge they could easily deny! Or on their own fees! It's a great scam by a bank that claims to be helping its customers. Unless you plan to have enough money in your account at all times, stay away from Wachovia!
