The week prior to Christmas I went to the local wal-mart and purchased my son a nintendo wii. Christmas morning the wii would not work. The following day I went with wii packaged back up to the store to exchange it for another one. After standing in line for 45 minutes it was finally my turn at the desk. The woman took the wii and asked me why I was returning it. I explained it did not work she then took it out of the box and informed me that the serial number on the item did not match the serial number on the box. She said she was unable to help me. I got very upset as I have never owned a wii before in my life and certainly did not understand why she was not willing to help me when I had just spent over $200.00 on the wii and extended warranty just a week prior. I had my receipt as proof of purchase. The more questions I asked the madder the lady in returns became. She accused me of trying to pull a fast one and return a year old wii in a new box. This absolutely infuriated me. I am an honest single mother who makes on her own with no help from anyone else. I have strong morals and ethics. I would never try to be fraudulate in any way. Her attitude was a slap in the face of an honest consumer just trying to buy her son's Christmas. I have already gone and replaced the wii from a different retailer and they actually checked the serial numbers when it left not when it is returned. I have left a complaint with the wal-mart headquarters and they are supposed to be getting back with me to resolve this issue. We will see if any resitution is possible. At this point I just want them to refund my money for the game system and warranty.
