I have started going to Northwestern Technical College on October 2, 2006. The first day I got transportation by Walker County Trans-Aid and then Walker County called my house and said I could no longer get a ride from Walker County Trans-Aid because I live in Catoosa County, I called Catoosa County Trans-Aid and I was told that they no longer go to NTC. I am also going to LMCS or Cornerstone in Lafayette, I leave NTC everyday at 12:00 and I go to cornerstone which is a division of LMCS.
All I’m asking for is a ride to Northwestern Technical College, I don’t mind paying the $2.00 fee and Walker County is only about one block from my house, the last 2-years or more I have been going to cornerstone and NTC is passed every morning, I don’t understand why that transportation can’t stop at NTC and charge the $2.00 fee also, then LMCS or Walker County will also help recovery.
Walker County Trans-Aid has took me to doctors, dentist, and to NTC on 9/19/2006, they took me to NTC on the morning of 10/2/2006 and then they called my house and told my mother that they will no longer pick Michael Thompson up because he lives is Catoosa County, I have tried to get a ride with Catoosa County and they no longer go to NTC, I can't believe that LMCS wont take me, they pass-up NTC every morning and take me to Cornerstone and for the last couple of days Heather (from Cornerstone) has took me from LMCS to NTC, I talked to Lisa at LMCS Transportation and she told me that if I went to DFACS that they would send Catoosa County or LMCS a trip order and then I wouldn’t have any problem but that hasn’t worked either, I told Heather that my Mother or Sister wouldn’t take me because they know that LMCS is right past NTC and why should they go when LMCS won’t, my Sister took me one time but I told her Cornerstone was little further and she won’t take me anymore.

To whom it may concern,
Michael Thompson recently signed up for school at Northwestern Technical College. He applied for the HOPE grant and was accepted. He is now in dilemma because he is unable to find transportation to school. He is unable to drive due history of seizures. He attempted to set up transportation through Walker Transit and another. I spoke with the transportation staff at Lookout Mountain Community Services and they stated that they might be able to transport Michael to school if a caseworker through DFAC request transportation. Could you please help him with this?
If you have any questions regarding this matter feel free to contact me at Cornerstone 706-639-2108, thank you, Heather Templeton.
Thanks a lot,
Michael
