On 7/6/10 I purchased a walmart moneycard/visa.. went right home to acctivate it. I wanted to use it to wire money via westernunion.. I already have a western union acct and have been using my bank card to my husband's dismay. This is the only reason to purchase the card at all. When I went to accivate the card it let me use my ssn and birthdate.. but it automatically picked up my husbands name. I could not change it I immeditally tried to call back to complain about it but I was told since my name was not on the card my husband would have to call back about it. I told them if my husband had to call it would be to cancel the card and get the money back. So I went ahead and tried to use it in the meantieme. Well since the ph# is in my husbands name western union won't let me use it. I have no phone in my name. I am disabled from a car jacking a couple yrs ago. Needless to say my husband is livid about this and did call and told them to speak to me since he did not have any idea what was going on, to please deal with me. So I explained to them we just wanted a refund sine the card was no use to me if I can't use it.They promised I would get the money back in aprox. 10 to 20 days... Time went by no check in the mail. My husband called again on 8/7/10 requesting the money back. They said the check is in the mail It seems since we explained to them they had his name, my ssn and b-day they put a security risk on the card making it impossible to use the temp card or acctivate the permenant one. There have been several calls from me between my husbands calls. The last time I called on 8/23/10. The money still shows as available... The barely speaking cicaustomers service people keep INSISTING the permenant card has to be accivated and my husband would need to call back.. Now the calls are simply cut off. I did get quite heated when they are insisting to acctivate the card which is IMPOSSIBLE SINCE IT TELLS ME TO CALL 1-877-937-4098.. THE CALLS ARE SIMPLY DISCONNECTED... There seems to be no way to get my money back... the recording I get says the $50 will be automatically transfered to the permenant card in 6 days (from today 8/24/10) it is imparitive to activate to permenant card. They take no more calls from me or my husband won't return the money nor will even at this point activate or use the card. We are out $50.00 I simply do not know where to turn
