I purchased credit protection in February of 2008 and my understanding was I was covered for unemplyment, loss of a family member and several other occurences. In April of the same year, I lost my husband tragically and I called WAMU to request a claim form which they said they would mail but never did. I kept my payments up and sent them e-mail requests to no avail.
Eventually in october, when I was all torn-up with payments from the funeral and other financial matters, I fell behind on my payments and the dogs came-in full force. I have been battling with credit collection agencies (now on my second for the same account) from last year Novemeber till presently (June 11, 2009).
They refuse to listen or help me figure out what's wrong and I refuse to pay the balloned up prices that keep escalating every month with a $35 dollar late fee, $35 over the limit fee and $37 finance charge added to the total billed each month. I am a fairly level headed person who has been through some very trying times and I am close to my breaking point. The credit collectors (BCR) call me 8-10 times a day every day from 7:00am in the morning to 10:00pm at night. Can anyone help me?
