broke while under warranty
I WILL NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM SEARS AGAIN!!! I can't begin to describe how useless and inefficient their customer service is. I purchased a Washer with a 1 year warranty, which suddenly stopped working after 4 months. I called repair who came out 5 days later and needed a part to supposedly fix the washer. They made an appt to come back in 2 weeks. (keep in mind, I have now missed a day of work while waiting for them and am facing 2 1/2 weeks lugging laundry for my 3 children and myself to the laundromat - but I'm not angry yet) The next technician comes as scheduled (day 2 off of work) and has the new parts but is still unable to fix the washer. Now I'm getting angry because I had a huge pile of dirty laundry just waiting to be washed as soon as he had my washer fixxed (I had skipped the laundromat for the past 2 days awaiting his arrival) SO, now they say another 10 days to order another part ... which is not OK with me, I had to make 3 calls and talk to 5 different people to finally find someone who was somewhat helpful and moved up my appointment by 3 days. (I've already spent over $80, not to mention at least 10 hours of my time at the laundromat) Day 3 home from work, Sears doesn't show, so I call and am told that they cancelled the appointment and rescheduled to thursday (now 11 rather than 10 days after the last service appt) BUT they chose not to tell me that they had cancelled the appt, so a wasted 4 hours home. Finally, Day 4 Home waiting, Service Call #3 which is 30 days after my initial call, this technician is unable to repair the washer either, isn't getting much help from the Sears tech assistance, and is just as mad and frustrated as I am. He was here on the phone for 2 hours before he finally was able to get through to them that the washer was not able to be repaired and needed to be replaced as per the warranty. He told me that Sears would call me in the next 2 days to let me know how to proceed. So, Sears hasn't called, I have to call them - 3 times/5 people - am told that he was wrong, they won't call until monday. OK, still no call on monday, I am yelled at by 1 person, and hung up on by another while being told that everyone else I have talked to was wrong, there is no way this will be processed before wed. AND, guess what, no call on Wed! I am on the phone for 48 minutes and then hung up on/my next call lasted 1 hr 37 minutes and the verdict ... "It's all set, Sears will call you tomorrow". I just had to laugh, I"m not expecting that call to come and I am about to give up and go buy a new washer at my local appliance store, where people are nice and helpful, and actually care about their customers. A side note ... last weekend my Craftsman mower broke ... NEVER AGAIN WILL I STEP FOOT IN SEARS!
