On Thursday, December 2, 2010 I was JACKED at WAX n FACTS for two of my albums after I took a total of 53 into the store in an attempt to sell them. The two gentlemen inside took my albums from the box and went through them while they sat behind the counter a bit out of eye shot. They were sitting on what may have been crates so they were below counter height. My friend stood watch on the other side of the counter but did not have a clear view. After they handed them back to me separated into two stacks; one they were interested in and one not; I decided that the offer was not to my liking so I decided to take them all back. Once out on the street I went through my box and counted my property and discovered that 2 of my albums were missing. I took in 53 and walked out with 51. They STOLE my 'HAROLD MELVIN & THE BLUE NOTES FEATURING TEDDY PENDERGRASS - TO BE TRUE' and my 'JAMES INGRAM - IT'S YOUR NIGHT'. I know this because in addition to counting them on the street I also checked the box against my list and discovered those two missing. I went back to the store immediately and of course the two gentlemen inside denied ever seeing those two titles and of course I cannot prove that they did. So this post is meant to WARN anyone that attempts to deal with WAX N FACTS; DO; take a friend. DO NOT; let your property out of your site. DO; work from the counter handing over each item one by one and checking off your list as you go. DO; check you albums as you hand them over and after they hand them back. I had been planning this visit for over a month and I'd e-mailed my list a month prior to my visit so they knew exactly what I was bringing in and possibly knew what they were going to JACK me for before I even got there. I know those two were there because I counted and checked them on 3 separate occasions before I got there; the last time being right before I left home; I put them in alphabetical order to make checking them off easier. So, a word to the wise; even professionals can be crooked! I hope that this posting keeps anyone else from getting "ALBUM JACKED"! Although I am unable to prove this; I have no reason to fabricate this story; I have an eye witness, and I have e-mails to backup the fact that I was in contact with WAX N FACTS prior to the visit. However, if this is how Wax N Facts does business it is a poor business practice as well as unethical. Therefore I just want to draw attention to them so that this may deter them from this practice in the future.
