This company uses an "ongoing" contract concept when you sign to do your lawn. The result is that next year they will do your lawn without your express permission then bill you after the fact. They claim that would have given you the opportunity to cancel if you replied to these 'estimate' (which the claim they leave on your doorstep - in my case - I have no mail-box - our area has a common mail box).

This 'assumptive service' if yo dontl cancel (if you can get through) is highly illegal but they cover themselves by using the ongoing contract clause.

They applied (or claimed to anyway) 2 treatments to my lawn without my express permission but I have a private contractor for this year and then started a series of nagging, collection calls when I didn't pay.

I had to write to them and threaten to report them to get them to call me as I couldn't seem to get them on the phone and when I did, they merely asked me for monies outstanding and/or promised to get a 'supervisor' to call me (which didn't happen until my letter).

They claim you can get their service for only 1 year but you have to expressly 'request' this.

In the end I will be paying only part of what they claim I owe them but obviously this company is operating with 'clear' business ethics.

I strongly suggest you stay away from them.
