In February I purchased an online book for gall bladder problems and upon paying for my purchase I get an offer to have a free trial offer for wellnesswatchersmd.com. It was a two week trial offer and they would give me a free $25 gift card to my store of choice for just trying it. I could also cancel anytime before the two weeks is up and I would still get my gift card. I try the offer and I fill out the profile that was requested in order to obtain the gift card. I try to cancel a week ahead of time online/via customer care and I get no correspondence. Then I get charged for 29.95, so I have to go through the hassel of calling customer care to deal with my issue. I do that they cancel my subscription, but I don't get my gift card. So a month goes by and I call customer care to find out what happened to my gift card and they tell me I have to sign up for another trial offer if I want to receive my gift card and then I can cancel subscription before or on the last day of my trial offer. I do that and cancel online the last day of my subscription. So then Im billed again but this time 39.90 and I start encountering overdraft fees from my bank. It takes me a month to clear the matter up with customer care and I still didn't get my gift card. My other complaint is each time I was billed I was charged an international fee with the subscription. When I brought this to the attention off customer care they couldn't tell me why there was a international charge because they or national, so they tell me to take it up with accounting department in New Jersey. I do that 3 different emails and I get no correspondence. I call up wellnesswatchersmd customer care again and they tell me there not responsible for bank fees. This was my third call and the first time customer care said this, not only that if there national then why am I being charged international charges? Something isn't right! This was my second time talking to a supervisor but he wasn't helpful whatsoever. I inquire again about my gift card and he looks up my info and says I didn't fill out the information to receive my gift card, which I did twice and I can even tell you what was requested, not to mention I requested a wholefoods gift card. So he said I didn't fill out the information. That seems like a scam so they don't have to give people their gift cards. Each time I input the information it said someone will get back to me regarding my gift card. It never said it was incomplete or it didn't go through. So this supervisor then says if I want to get the gift card I have to sign up again. Who in there right mind would do that again? Each time I was charged a fee and the subscription cost when I was trying to avoid the fees all together.
#1 complaint- no gift card
#2 complaint- charged when I shouldn't have been charged
#3 complaint- unexplained international charges
#4 complaint- no response to my complaints to accounting department
I just want to let other consumers know, so they can be watchful of there dealings with this company.
