We have the manager from hell. She is a registered nurse and came from Independent physician's where she got fired after 8 years. One of the clerks has been working overtime since September and she won't pay him. In the 2.5 years I worked under her she has never given any raises and gave only one half of 1% incentives while other managers give 10%. She is loud, obnoxious, negative, fat, single and full of hate. Many of the nurses at Wellpoint, now Anthem complain about her but the company won't fire her. One of the nurses wrote a letter about her in July to Angela Braly, CEO who then sent the letter back to human resources. The manager then fired Sherrie another RN instead of Stan who wrote the letter. The manager even lied about what Sherrie did to get her fired and Sherrie asked ot resign. This manager was Sherrie's best friend and went shopping with her and visited her home. Unprofessional. The human resources person does everything this uncivil manager wants him to. Right after Sherrie was fired the human resources manager, Mike Johns, called me and told me Sherrie resigned. This is private information. Why was he calling me? To reassure me that Sherrie wasn't fired for something we all do on Friday.
On 9/3/09, Stan and I were threatened by the manager at a meeting in front of her director, Mike Johns and 7 nurses. Then on 11/5 we were laid off as of 12/31. This manager has had more ethics complaints against her because she gossips with everyone and shares personal information. Unethical. After I left Wellpoint on 12/28 because I wrote an e mail to her accusing her of being a control freak and that she was sure to get fired. She then cut me off of my computer, called unisource to drive to my home and pick up my computer and never even told me anything until I e mailed her and said that I was not going to give up my computer unless she sent me an e mail to do so.
This manager also meets with Hills Physician's or my group which is the largest IPA in Northern California. She does not meet with any other IPA. That could be discrimination. So, after I left the company I wrote a good bye e mail to my group and sent my resume. I am no longer employed by the company and Hope, the manager, writes Hill's Physician's an e mail calling me a liar as well as the manager of Hill's Physicians tanya who calls Hope twice and e mails her twice about my e mail to Hill's. So I reported to the Nursing Board and the Dept. of Labor that Hope destroyed my ability to get a job by stating derogatory remarks about me after I left Wellpoint. I was an excellent employee had the highest productivity and 100% on all audits. I also was training another RN and working two RN jobs Christmas week when Hope attacked me. She even had a meeting with myself and Mike Johns in October accusing me of lying to Hill's Physician's that sherrie got fired. Then she told me that I could not communicate with any of the nurses in my group and had to go through the manager, Tanya Morgan. I complied and wondered if she was trying to make my job impossible to do so she could fire me. She is full of threats, accuses people of doing things they do not because she never gets two sides to the story. She does not represent Wellpoint as this company is ethical and the nurses all think she needs psyche meds as she wears her sweaters backwards, doesn't brush her hair and is unkempt.
I do realize that I could sue Wellpoint and Hill's for the e mails. Instead I copied them and mailed them to Angela Braly with a list of the RN's who are tired of the tyranny. Let's see what Wellpoint does.
