Total Rip off on refinance
I refinanced my 2007 truck with Wells Fargo Auto Finance...HUGE MISTAKE!! I dealt with a Robert D. loan rep who I have come to learn is full of crap back in Sept/Oct 2007 about refinancing my truck well I was approved but they jacked up my payment to over $500 a month! However, this Robert D. loan rep told me that I could refinance it again in 4 months and they would drop the payment considerably! All I had to due is make the 4 months payment on time and it would be refinanced in February and that he would call me in February 2008 to complete the transaction. In the refinance they also tacked on $900 extra to pay off some small credit cards he told me that would help me and my credit score rise in those four months. He said I had equity in the truck so relying on his "word" and good faith I did everything I WAS TOLD TO DUE BY ROBERT D. AT WELLS FARGO AUTO FINANCE, well guess what February came no call from Robert so I called he pulled my information and told me he couldn't do anything for me! I WAS PISSED!! He said the balance on the truck was too high, he's the idiot who told me I had equity in the truck four months prior. HE LIED TO ME!!! He continued to tell me to wait until I got my check from "Uncle Sam" to pay down on the balance then call him back to see if they could do anything for me. I AM SO MAD AND IRRATE AT THIS LIAR AND WELLS FARGO, they used me, they lied to me, and treated me like shit! They really don't care!! Since then I've struggled to make this $531 payment and have been late with it becuase I don't care and tired of worrying and each time a collection person has called me I tell them to shove it and they should call Robert D. as he put me in this situation as I relied on him the specialist to lead me in the right direction. I have called lenders and my own bank to try and refinance it and no one will because of the balance on it and KBB value is less then half of what the balance is so I'm stuck. Robert D. and WELLS FARGO FINANCE COMPANY SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES IN WHAT THEY HAVE DONE TO ME AND OTHER PEOPLE. I'm writing a letter to the Better Business and the Chairman of Wells Fargo. They need to make this situation right. Thanks for nothing Robert D. and the added stress and financial worries you gave me you are a heartless wells fargo employee!

Harrassing Phone Calls -
My daughter bought a car, I co-signed due to her credit rating. With this company charging so many late charges and late penalties, two years later, there is just as much owed on this car as originally financed, even though the loan payments have been up to date several times. Grant it she has been late a lot due to financial hardships caused by an x-husband and trying to raise two young children. She has worked with Wells Fargo as best as she can, but these inflated late fees and penalties make it impossible to get ahead. Phone fee assessments, other charge payment, late charge assessment...
At one point, they had sent a statement showing only late payment charges due. I sent a check for the amount and even "cushioned" it another $200. The next statement, they had applied the full amount to interest only and then applied past due charges and inflated the original late fees. They did not apply this extra payment I sent to the late fees at all.
They continue to call her and myself starting at 8 am until 8-9 pm everyday-7 days a week. I had moved to a different location and of course required different telephone number. Somehow they discovered this and have started their harrassing calls again. She has a new great job and is trying desperately to get things together, but they have started their harrassment calls there also. They don't stop and think if she loses this job because of these calls, there won't be any payments. I at this time, do not work and am on a fixed income - I cannot help this situation and I have told Wells Fargo this.
She and I are at our wits end with this company. We are drowning and see no way to get our head above the water. My credit rating was perfect, but it has dropped substantially due to this company not willing or aiding and then actually adding additional outrageous charges. We don't know what to do about it.
How do they continually get by with this?

Illegal Harassment/Idiots
Wells Fargo Auto Finance financed a vehicle for me when I had just cleaned up my credit. No other lender would finance me. They charge outrageous interest rates but I went for it.
After six months, I ran late on a payment. If you are more than 3 days late, the calls start - automated phone system. With each day you are late, late fees are added and the phone calls become more frequent, like every 20 mins. You call them, make a payment arrangement or pay online, and 15 mins. later you get another call from a rep in another cityand you have to repeat everything because their damn computer system does not show them that a payment was made or notify them of the payment arrangement you just made. So you continue to be harassed.
They also started leaving these messages nonstop on my Prepaid Cell Phone which caused me to run out of minutes. I told them not to call that number and when I did they said they had no record of that number. ???
After some medical expenses, I requested an extension. First, they required a payment and then said they would do it. Then they took my "application for extension" and told me to call back in 3 days to make sure it was approved! I called back and it was refused. Come to find out they RARELY give extensions, especially if you are late.
So then, being two months late, they started calling me at my place of employment, after I told them not to. Then, to make matters worse, they called my Human Resources Manager and re-verified my employment and asked her to be sure and tell me they called.
So, I moved out of my home and in with family so I could get back on track. Once you are behind, they will screw you with late fees, harass you with phone calls, and call your employer.
DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM!

Harassing, Bullying Customer Service & Phone Calls
I have been late on my payment due to personal issues and have tried over and over again to try to find a resolution to this. I've spoken to several customer service rep's, none of who would help me. They were only concerned with getting a payment over the phone. They continually called my house...8 -10 a day until I stopped answering because they wouldn't help me. When I did speak to them they were rude, bullying, be-littling and condescending. On Saturday, March 29, 2008 I spoke to Duane from Wells Fargo. Once again...rude and mistreated me. I started to read about them online and this seems to be a common practice of their tactics on how they treat their customers. Duane told me I was irresponsible and needed to get my act together. At this point I became angry and told him the phone call was now ended because of the way he was treating me. My girlfriend stayed on the other end after I hung up and Duane continued to say Valjean if you want to keep the car don't hang up. Wells Fargo has continually harassed me for 3 months straight. The phone calls start at 8am and do not stop until 9pm...7 days a week. I tried to work with them on this...asking them to refinance me or come take the car. They wouldn't do either. I couldn't afford to get any more upside down in this car at 17.75% interest...I couldn't afford the payments anymore. So my girlfriend on 3/29 made a credit card transfer through Citibank because she wanted to help me because of the stress its been causing our home.
It takes a few business days for it to go through. On Monday, March 31, 2008 I received another call from WFAF. I tried to explain to the guy 3 times that we called for the payoff and paid the loan off. They would not take this answer and kept harassing me for another payment. He asked me where the car was and that I needed to clear my personal possessions out of the car. Then he got a "supervisor" on the phone...who also started to be-little me. So my girlfriend got on the phone upset and let them have it and they got rude back with her and hung up. Now anytime I've ever asked to speak to a supervisor they would never put one on.
Wells Fargo has never sent me by mail any letters regarding this account being past due...even though I've asked them to stop calling my house. They continued to call, call, call, call, call, call call. Quite a few times I've answered and said hello 5 times to no answer so I hung up. I've had it with this company and there has to be some recourse for this type of harassment isn't there?

Untrained professionals!
My old car got really dangerous, I went car shopping w/ my mom, in 2004 & purchased a 2004 Accent, in August. One year later, I receive a call from Wells Fargo in Louisville, the woman Sheri Latimer stated that she was reviewing loans & noticed that I had always paid on time, she stated that Wells Fargo would like to have the loan between them and myself dropping my mom as the co-signer. I was really happy to hear this, because even when I made a payment, if it had not posted yet, even if it was one day late, they would call my mother - who would then reconfirm w/ me that payment had been made.
So, I take off from work, go to the W.F. A in Middletown, and discuss some things. I wanted to know what my payments would be: the same (of course at a higher interest rate, due to my mother having exceptional credit). I wanted to know if I would still have gap insurance, I was told yes - and cut off, she said "Ariel, everything will be the same the only difference is that your mom is no longer on the loan - it will be just you and us. I looked at your credit score, and you do need to take care of a credit card, however, you can also apply for one of ours. And you are also eligible to get up to $1000 back, that you have already invested in your car."
I swear thats how the conversation went - I was really happy when I left, because finally everything was falling into place... then came August of 2007, when my car got totaled out by a teenager going the wrong way. My gap claim got denied by Beacon Gap - I asked why, and they said because you REFINANCED. I immediately called Wells Fargo, & told Tammy, a long standing employee there, and I got Beacon back on the phone, Tammy argued that they were wrong to deny the claim, due to me being on the original loan. WFA basically thought that by me being an original olbigator with the original loan, that it transferred over - but it didn't. I would have had to open up a new gap claim at the time of the signing in September, just as I did when the car was first purchased in August of 2004. My gap ins would have cost me somewhere in the $300 range... had I known - I would have gotten it, when I received the invested money in my car... if Ms. Latimer had just told me bluntly that she did not know whether I still had gap insurance, I would have called Beacon myself and taken care of the issue, I had the money to pay for it. SO now, I get phonecalls all the time from Wells Fargo, all of them having no idea of whats going on - I have a $3000 gap, and I am now making payments of $276.59 each month, plus my current car payment - I realize that mistakes happen, but I asked all the right questions, and was told the wrong information! And because of that, I am suffering - I asked why is there not a disclaimer that includes your new account number, to say that if you previously refinanced to contact your gap subscriber - but I was informed by Trenice in the W.F.A that the consumer should be aware - I told her that I was aware - she told me that I should have read my gap claim policy better, and that W.F.A wants to get this account taken care of immediately - my loan payoff date was not until 2009 - I asked if it were possible for them to work with me, maybe do $100 a month - no was the answer, "Your agreement was to pay 276.59 until the loan was paid in full." I reminded her that I was not the original signer of the gap paperwork, my mother was, and that I inquired at the time of signing if gap was still on my vehicle. Trenice told me that "THAT WAS HERESY."
Conversation over - I am so filing in small claims court - this company is terrible - if they did not know, they should have said they did not know at the time, instead of telling me that I still had gap, OR they could have said "Let me take a look, you know I am not sure, it would be best for you to call Beacon & contact them." I believed their words, and thought they were right - implied covenant of good faith.

Payment for car refused!
I, Vicki McKenna, am 2 months behind on my 2004 Beetle VW payment. I have struggled financially since moving from Atlanta to Sevierville, TN. I called customer service on 3/4/08 and told them I would be making the payments on March 14, 2008 and March 31, 2008. That was fine with them. Today, I get a phone call from Wells Fargo Auto Finance in Atlanta, Georgia from Vince Gramm who is the Collection person. I told him I would be mailing a cashiers check on the 14th and 31st. He said no they could not accept that and he needed my checking account number to deduct it on those days. He said if I didn't do it by automatic deduction I would be refusing to pay. I WAS NOT REFUSING TO PAY!!! Then he asked me where my car was like they were on the way to get it. He was a complete jerk and very, very unprofessional... so, after all of his intimidation and having me in tears, I gave him my account number. I have called the Better Business Bureau here in Tennessee and then contacted Wells Fargo in Phoenix, AZ and spoke to Cameron. He was very nice and took the two payments off of automatic deduction and now I will make the cashiers checks as I first stated.
I think Mr. Vince Gramm needs to be addressed in how he deals with customers. In fact, I think he needs to be fired. I have never not made my payments. I need my car to get to work. He was the rudest person and very overpowering.
I would like a phone call to 865-809-7606 or an e-mail explaining to me how Wells Fargo has the right to force people and intimidate them beyond anyone's imagination. It's not like I have ever had a pattern of telling them I was going to make a payment and didn't. THAT HAS NEVER HAPPENED.

Terrible service!
Today is the 4th, my payment is due on the 1st and it was sent out on the 28th. I have a grace period and have asked Wells Fargo, via email and phone to not ever call me unless the loan is 10 days late as I do have a grace period. They have called me today a half dozen times and just a few minutes ago called again and finally left an automated message.
In the past they have called and requested to refinance and after the first time they denied me, I told them not to ask again. They called, and again, asked to refinance my loan. When I told them it was no use because they would not be able to help me, they said sure I can help. So, I let them try again and to be told, denied. I am tired of them asking me to refinance to be told they can't do anything for me. I also stated this in writing. I pay all my bills on time and I am not sure why they can't just leave me alone and chase someone that is past due.
I went to review my online billing today and they again, have charged me for things I was never made aware of. Beware!

Scam and cheating!
Bought a car in Sept/07 and made every payment to date. Provided my insurance the day of purchase and even followed up with agent. I have been with state farm for 20 plus years. Now in Jan/08 I get a letter from Wells Fargo that I am soon to be charged 1826.00 for insurance. I made contact with agent information was again sent. Then 2 weeks later another letter stating that it was sent to the wrong address. How can that be when it was indeed sent to the address and fax number on their letter? This is my first and last business with this company. I plan to file many complaints and/or lawsuit due to these improper actions. If they are too damn large to find something its sure not my fault. They should never send letters providing addresses and fax numbers that are incorrect. I think it is a way of them making extra money by way of consumer fraud!!! I place some of the blame on the dealership that arranged the finance because they should know a companies reputation. However they have been notified making them aware of these illegal practices. I want to warn everyone to avoid this company at all costs. As well as any dealer that endorses them as a client. And please fight back to prevent more victims in the future.

Scam Artists
I had ran into financial difficulties a couple years back and I had some leverage on my truck so I refinanced my truck through Wells Fargo. WHAT HUGE MISTAKE!!! I was making payments to them on a monthly basis. They may have not been exactly on time but none of which was over 30 days. I ran into a financial snag which I had to be late with a payment with them for almost 30 days late but again nothing over 30 days. That's when the headaches started. I would get collection calls almost 15 per dat, stating that I was almost 54 days past due of $320 which seemed funny to me because my payments were almost $500 a month with them. I naturally got hit with lates fees, processing fees and fees for making a payment over the phone with a live rep. So I paid it and that's when things really started to go haywire. Every month it seemed that I was always short a payment here or there and I woulod get hit with all these fees on a monthly basis. Eveytime over the phone the rep would tell me that everything is all caught up next payment is due on my next due date and everything is fine. No more than 3 days later they tell me I'm still behind and they told me the other rep was wrong in telling me I was caught up. This nightmare gets worse, month by month fees accumulated and the same story I was behind in my payments pay X amount and I would be current if I made the payment over the phone and like a fool I would pay it and like clock work a few days later someone else would call me stating I was behind again and the previous rep was wrong for telling me I was caught up. This snowballed into me being behind $1487.00 At the beginning of the year I thought well I will start the year out fresh I sent W.F. $1500.00 and the rep on the phone said that was more than enough to get caught up and my next payment was not due until the middle of February. I thought great I started a new year back on track. WRONG!!! I got a call 5 days later stating I was actually short $345!!!! The rep was wrong for telling me I was caught up. Here we go again with the fees!!!
I am pulling a bank recall of any payments made to them from last year to see what has been paid to them and where the actual mistake lies.
HELP!! Does anyone have experience with Wells Fargo like I have? Anyone have any suggestion how I might be able to unload this loan! Since taking this loan I am now way upside down so selling it makes it impossible and W.F. doesn't have assumable loans.

Auto Loan
I also had a very bad experience with the Wells Fargo Auto Loan Department. I was treated very rudely by one of their representatives as well as the shift manager. It all started when I called in to speak to one of their representatives because I was concerned that my payment might be a bit late due to having to leave my primary job for medical reasons and also it was in early December "Holiday Season". The first lady I spoke with was very nice and informed me that they had a payment deferral program where you were allowed to defer payments, two at a time, for a total of five during the life of the loan. She told me not to worry because I had a ten day grace period after the payment was due and if I wanted to initiate a payment deferral to call back the day after my payment was due. So this is what I did. I called back o0n the 15th of the month, my payment is due on the 14th of the month, and asked for a two month payment deferral and they took my information and said I was all set. Well on the 29th of December, it is now two weeks past my due date, i received a letter saying my request for deferral had been denied. Now I am freaking out because the payment is way past due and since it was now the New Years Eve weekend I could not get anyone on the phone until Jan, 3rd, 08. On the 3rd I spoke with another gentleman who set up a payment schedule for me in two payments, to catch up on my December payment and he assured me this would keep my payment from going 30 days past due. He chose the dates, I did not. Well around the 18th of Jan., after the first half of the payment had gone through, I kept getting repeated phone calls from Wels Fargo and I finally spoke to a rep who proceeded to tell me my payment was 30 days past due and was being reported to the credit agency. He kept badgering me saying that I must not have any common sense to chose the dates that were chosed for my payments because I should have known this would make my payment 30 days overdue. I assured him I did not chose the dates, that one of their representatives chose the dates and he kept on saying that's not possible and on and on. Well needless to say I got very upset and I was crying. So I asked to speak to a supervisor. The supervisor that got on the phone was just as rude and accused me of using the "F" word, which I did not. I asked him to send me a complete statement of the status of my account and hung up. To this day, it's now Feb,19, 2008, I still have not received anything from them. I just recently wrote a letter to the corporate offices, telling them exactly what I have written here and have not heard anything back. I will never use Wells Fargo again and I would recommend anyone reading this that you do not either. They truly do not care much about their customers.
