Illegal practices
I had bought some stuff online from walmart and delias, they had charged me twice for my delias order and some how charged both my account now prepaid visa card and deducted funds from my wells fargo account for the same walmart order and according to walmarts shipping policy your bank /credit cards not billed until your orders shipped and yet i didn't get all my order but yet had paid for it. And they made me feel guilty for spending my own money too!!! They said well why did you spend so much here i told them thats for me to know and for you people not to find out.

Awful bank
First Incident:
I opened a Wells Fargo account in Denver, CO for school. I had been a 3-4 year customer of BoA and had no intention of changing but I was unfortunately forced to as BoA does not have branches in Colorado.
At first, Wells Fargo representatives were charming and when I was fraudulently overcharged (the first overcharge ever) they did not count it against me. However, they were not so kind for further experiences.
After not checking my account for a 3 day period, I signed on to look and lo' and behold I was overdrawn in the hundreds. The cause? A $5 overdraft, hit with a NSF fee of $15, and an overdraft fee of $35. A $5 overdraft that did not exist mind you, it was another one of their banking mistakes. I called them, the issue was sorted, but they did not refund me the money they took from me, and I stayed in the red.
This overdraft ridiculousness then continued. I was being hit with overdraft fee over overdraft fee. Being hit with overdraft fees FOR my overdraft fees and very shortly I again had $200+ overdrawn. When I attempted to get help they claimed it was from 2 weeks ago when I made a $10 withdrawal at my campus ATM and that it took 2 weeks for it to debit. That it was my fault.
They of course did not return any of my money. And for the Consumer rebuttal fanatic who will say I should not rely on online as my guide, I didn't, I use a check register. Wells Fargo defrauded me. Period.
Second Incident:
I had written a check to myself (to transfer money acct to acct) from my BoA account to my Wells Fargo account. Before doing this, I called the bank and asked them how soon I would have access to the money. They told me I'd have check card access today, and cash access tomorrow morning at 8am.
I went into the bank and when the teller accessed my account, I very plainly asked him, 'Regardless of my negative standing the check will have access immediately through my card, correct?' He then informed me yes it will, and deposited my check for me.
I then attempted to go to Burger King only to have my card denied.
I called the number on the back of my card and was informed that because of the $200+ overdraft (incurred from the First Incident) that the check would not clear until the next morning for ANYTHING regardless of what the teller had said. I immediately called the bank, and the same Teller who had just said the negative standing did not matter, then proceeded to tell me that because I was in the red, it would not clear until morning.
He then proceeded to tell me that, however, if I made another deposit, this first check would cover the $200+ overdraft, and I would then have immediate access. So, I made another check deposit of $980. I was assured I would be covered.
I again, tried to use my card and it was declined.
I called the number on the back of my card again (as it was now approx. 5 minutes after 6PM and the bank was unsurprisingly already locked down). I was then informed of the same, that it would not be available until the next morning. When I asked if I could have some money released tonight (as I needed it) he then, in a very enthusiastic voice, said it was not possible and bid me a good evening.
Moral of the story: Wells Fargo sucks.

Robbery!
I have just witnessed a bank robbery - the bank robbed me. I walked into a Wells Fargo to deposit some money into my checking account and was informed it had been closed with a zero balance. This, after a long discussion with the manager of the Keystone branch who credited me back $12 to a free checking account. He specifically told me (a lie) that the checking account would remain with $12 balance -- after charging me $50 in fees that I did NOT know about and that I will never recover. This happened because a new employee signed me up for a product that was NOT WHAT I ASKED for and they subsequently charged me monthly for having $300 in my savings, but not my checking, or visa versa, I don't remember. In any case, Wells Fargo owes me $62 which I will never retreive. I have been robbed by Wells Fargo. Another shameless white collar crime.

Unathorized withdrawals
Wells Fargo has withdrawn approximately $800.00 from my account because my step son's account was overdrawn.
Most of this $800.00 is bank fees.
They claim that they can do this because my wife was in my account and she was in my step son's account as well.
The problem with this of course is that my step son is an adult and he is responsible for his own finances. I had no access whatsoever to his account. I had only authorized my wife to have access to my account. I never authorized the linking of my account to the performance of another person's account over which I have no control.
These are the facts. You are smart consumers. You can make your own judgements about this bank.

Stole My Money!!!
This bank stole over $800.00 of my money right out of my account!!! They claim that because my step son's account got overdrawn that they can simply reach into my account and get the money. My step son is an adult and I have no influence on him or access to his account. They claimed that they can do this because I had my wife in my account and my wife had also access to my step son's account. This is total nonsense. This bank is absolutely terrible. I do not understand why my account was linked to my step son's account. I absolutely never gave them permission to do so. This bank stole my money right out of my account. Amazing!!!

Online Security
Until today I'd been with Wells Fargo for 16 years. I'm now going to another bank. Wells Fargo has terrible online security. A scammer used my social security number to hijack my account online. Despite not having my PIN and not having the answer to my personal security question, Wells Fargo allowed them to change the address and phone number on my account and to open a new savings account in my name. My statements were heading to another state! Wells Fargo didn't notify me of the address change and allowed them access to my account with nothing but my social security number.
This is so wrong. Now I have to sort out the mess and Wells Fargo is proving inept in helping me do it. Their fraud department was supposed to call me back and never did. When I called them I was placed on hold for 30 minutes and then they hung up on me.
Don't bank with Wells Fargo if you want your money safe. It won't be because any scammer can go online and hijack your account with very little information.

Inappropriate banking practices
On Wed. 3 September I drove 60 miles from Fort Sumner New Mexico to Clovis New Mexico to deposit my bi-weekly salary into my checking account. I deposited two money orders from Wal Mart; one for $700, the other for $500. I was aware at the time of deposit that a check had been honored 24 hours previously resulting in a negative balance in my account.
Upon checking my account on the computer Thursday morning, the on-line bank statement showed a positive balance of about $150, the $1200 deposit was pending and the $700 money order was on hold until 08 September.
When I accessed my account today, Saturday 06 September, the on-line bank statement showed a negative balance of about $149, and both the $700 and $400 money orders were on hold until 11 September. I checked the reason for the hold, and there was annotation of irregular deposits to my account.
I called the phone bank and spoke to a â??Michaelâ?? and shared my displeasure about all of my funds being placed on hold and my puzzlement as to what irregular deposits were being questioned. He quoted the bank policy; I told him I know their policy, but why both money orders, and what irregularities? He responded that the bank needed to verify the origins of the money orders; I replied they were from Wal Mart and I use Wal Mart money orders often to deposit money into my account. I questioned, what was so different this time? He again began quoting bank policy. I thank him for his time and told him of my plans to file complaints to Wells Fargo and the New Mexico State Attorney General.
I went for a drive and cooled down and decided not to file a complaint, until I logged onto my computer upon returning home to see that the reason for the holds had been changed to â??repeated overdrafts in past six monthsâ??. Upon checking my account history, I decided that I would complain.
First of all, if anyone wishes to examine my account, a person could set their watch my deposits. I get paid every two weeks, on Wednesday and the number of times I do not deposit my salary every Wednesday evening can be counted on one hand, minus the thumb; there are NO irregularities in my deposits. I do have 2 or 3 utility bills that are automatically withdrawn from my account within the first 2 weeks of every month, without fail; again no irregularities. If anyone examines my debits, they would conclude I own stock in Wal Mart, have a car payment, a home mortgage and also pay rent on a house where I work out of town; again no irregularities.
As for overdrafts, the last overdraft I incurred was in June of 08 and since I am a Doctoral Student I do run into financial problems sometimes, such as the one I had in March of 08, I did have several overdrafts.
However, I believe if anyone were to look closer at my over drafts in March as well as the one a few days ago, there appears to be a banking practice that I do question. The person who makes these decisions is aware of my banking patterns; deposits and debits. They are aware I am sure that if a hold is placed on my account during the first part of the month, I will incur several overdrafts because I have 2 or 3 utility bills that are automatically paid out of my account, resulting in several overdraft fees and extending the account holds, which then results in more overdraft fees because I do have a mortgage and rent and other utilities that I pay towards the middle and end of the month. So yes, I find it hard to believe that the person who makes these decisions is not aware of the commutative affect of holds when some bills are automatically presented for payment. I can only deduce, assume and therefore conclude that the reason that someone places a hold on my account during the first two weeks of the month is to increase the income of the bank through overdraft fees, resulting in greater financial hardship and psychological stress for me. In this case Wells Fargo could not decide if the reason for the hold was irregularities of deposits or persistent overdrafts (two since June).
What do I want? I would be satisfied if debits that occur automatically would be honored during financial holds without overdraft fees and the reasons for the holds are realistic and honest. If this practice is occurring with the many patrons of Well Fargo, I can only image amount of money the bank gains through this practice.

Customer service and cost
Wells Fargo gave my husband and I an equity line of credit about 1 year ago. The fees were approx. $3000. and it was a a 10 year term loan. Wells Fargo sent us a letter about 2 weeks ago that said that our credit line was " restricted" and no more explanation. When we tried to use the $255, 000 credit line, there was no balance available and we had never used the credit line before. When we called about this, they basically said that the account " was not closed" but no funds were available because the change in the housing market".
Well this came as a bit of a surprise to us as we were not aware of this drastic of a change and and this was a 10 year loan that we were never able to use. So, we paid for a credit line that is no longer available, a $255, 000 credit line against our house, that we can't use and if we want to cancel the line of credit, in order to get a credit line elsewhere, they will charge us a $500 prepayment penalty for canceling an account that has no available credit!!! What the He!!!???
So, we will never do business with this bank again and hope you don't either!!!

Scam and cheating
It has now been over 6 years since Wells Fargo Bank illegally accepted, cashed and released almost $1 million of stolen check funds, payable solely to 'The Madden Company', but stolen, then signed/endorsed by SAVIN Corporation, who is owned by RICOH-Japan. If you or I had stolen and cashed these 7 large checks, with a handwritten deposit endorsement, WE WOULD BE IN JAIL, but International Corporate executives, like Jim Ivy, ex-CEO of RICOH-USA and SAVIN, has not yet been charged.
This is ironic, considering Mr. Ivy is already incarcerated, having been convicted of sexually assaulting a minor, under the age of 13, while in charge of these large office equipment companies in the USA. Please help us, as we have lost faith in our federal government to do anything, having passed the buck to other agencies, until there are no more agencies to file reports/complaints with.
Visit www.ThisIsJustice.com to see our actual evidence, including a copy of a check for over $200, 000.00, which was one of seven checks stolen and then illegally cashed by Wells Fargo Bank.
Thanks very much.

In Nov 2006, Wells Fargo Home Mortgage made escrow errors on my mortgage loan, and after an ugly year of illegal charges piling up on my mortgage, they think they have the right to steal my home! Finally, in October 2007, WFHM admits (by letter) they made the errors that resulted in an illegal judgment against me for $12, 000+ over what I truly owed on my home. On their papers they corrected my loan balance, and contacted credit repositories to remove the negative reports they made in error, but after sending me a letter telling me everythinig was worked out on my loan, and the judgment would be reversed by their attorney, they sold my home at a sheriff sale. I now have to pay double the amount of what I owed on my mortgage to redeem my home. IF I can get financing. I'm disabled and divorced. I was hospitilized and during this time they took all the steps and received a judgment against me. I wasn't even given an opportunity to present the truth. I didn't even know they were in Court! They told me all was being worked out and their errors fixed. I can't afford to fight them. They are wrong, they KNOW they are wrong, and yet, without looking back, they stole my home. Before their escrow error, I had a perfect 14 year mortgage history with Waterfield Mortgage. When they closed my credit score was 740. Now my credit score has dropped over 200 points, and I can't get help. WFHM has a profitable scam going, and they close their eyes to the human beings they don't deserve to have as their clients. I promise you, WFHM, if you do not cease and desist in your fraudulent actions against me (and millions of other shell-shocked home owners), and if you do not make restitution, I will continually create and search for ways to make my name one you hear on a daily basis. IT IS MY GOAL TO GATHER TOGETHER OTHER PEOPLE YOU'VE HURT, CHEATED AND STOLEN FROM, AND JOIN FORCES TO BECOME YOUR BIGGEST SERVICING CHALLENGE! I will design a web page (in several languages), distribute e-books, publish press releases worldwide, and, I will be absolutely relentless in my pursuit to not only reveal the ugliness in Wells Fargo Bank, but to also secure compensation for the irreversible pain and loss you've caused so many. Without blinking an eye.
