Wells Fargo Bank Reviews

Lien satisfied copy!
Wells Fargo Bank bought Crocker Bank in 1986 and my husband had a loan with Crocker and never received a "Lein Satisfied" letter from Wells Fargo. Nasty customer service agent did not inform me that she could help with query. Very short tempered, and awful attitude. Asked many, many questions, but not once did she inform me that she could help in any way. No confirmation information for a follow up!

Stay away from them
We bought furniture from Raymour and Flanigan. The mattress in the sofa bed wasn't great but our problem was with Wells Fargo bank. We financed with Wells Fargo.

They started off by sending us the bills a day or two before the due dates, we always paid more than the bill amount. They cashed one check but did not apply the credit to our account and sent us a late charge! We called and they were real nasty.

After they realized that we had the cancelled check, the guy at Wells Fargo says" as a courtesy I will remove the late charge" Courtesy?

Scam charges!
Well Fargo Bank is making money by putting levies on your checking account from credit card companies. when they do this they are making your account $0 (zero) so all these overdraft fees will come in for $34 each. I had Wells Fargo do a levy for $ 16.05 and they made $170 from five overdrafts fees. They are making lot of money putting levies of people's checking accounts. They could have least called me and let me know they were going to do it so I could have put the money in the bank to cover my checks that balanced after they took the money. They didn't offer to credit the overdraft fees either.

Terrible company!
I made the mistake of getting an auto loan with Wells Fargo in September 2006. The auto dealership set up a bi weekly payment plan in which the 1/2 payments were taken out of my checking account every other Friday and sent to Wells Fargo. The calls from Wells Fargo started with the very 1st month's payment due date and have continued for 18 months. While all payments were well within the 10 day grace period and I have no late payments showing on my payment history I was still harassed every month. They call all hours of the day and night, Sundays included, with a recorded message when you pick up the phone to "Please hold"... After I learned the phone number from the caller ID I would hang up. Who calls someone and asks them to hold for 5 minutes until they are ready to talk? When I was feeling like I should answer I would hold for how ever long just to get some moron that had nothing worthwhile to say, but would harass me anyway. I explained the biweekly plan no less than 18 times to this bank - but everytime it was like the first time to them. I have recently found another finance source for my car and now the real fun begins. Because I have a partial payment that was due (because of the biweekly plan) before I can get the payoff amount - Wells Fargo can't seem to find it in them to post to my account the check I mailed them 11 days ago. They continue to call me about $53.00 some odd dollars that is 10 days late, according to them. My payments are normally $313.00 which means I am paid ahead! Today, they asked me to do a bank check over the phone and continued to ask me stupid questions - "why is the payment 10 days late"? My guess is it's either sitting on someones desk who happens to be on spring break or they are refusing to post the account because they know I am refinancing the loan. Either way I can't believe it takes 11 days for a check to get from New York to California and get posted to my account. I have two fellow employees who have a car loan with them and the phone is ringing off the hook here at work with the same harassment to them. Anyone who does any business with this company is out of their mind! Their interest rates are exorbitant, there service is terrible at best and I will never do business with them in any form or fashion ever. You might want to consider doing the same.

Autopay unauthorized charges
My husbands has never applied to this autopay and they are trying to get $31.98 out of his account and so far it has caused him to have a huge overdraft that he can not pay because he is on lay-off from his job and it is very hard for him to pay this bill that this company has put him in this situation please get his bank account off the list thank you very much.

Overdraft charges
I use Wells Fargo's Bill Pay services and have my bills setup for scheduled and budgeted payments. I also have a savings account tied to my checking account where I keep some savings on hand.
We paid a tax bill and it hit the account before I transferred funds over, triggering my account and throwing it into an OVERDRAFT situation. The first time in my life. The same day, 4 items were paid from my scheduled Bil Pay "service" without funds being available. The Bank charged $34.00 per item creating an even deeper OVERDRAFT problem and the next day. Unaware that no funds were available, my husband was able to withdraw $200 from the ATM without any notice of the overdraft situation, and on and on. In a two day period, I was charged $306.00 in overdraft fees.
I do not remember authorizing the Bank to put my account in an overdraft situation. If no funds are available, then they should not allow the transaction. Ssurely technology is available to stop a payment /cash from being transferred.

Poor service!
On 08-31-07, I deposited a check in my business account for $4000. I was told on that day there would be a five day hold on that check amount. On September 4, 2007, I was sent a e-mail to my on line banking account, stating they are "imposing an additional hold" until September 10, 2007. When I called to ask who gave them permission to assume I wanted to allow them to use my funds for their own purposes, they advised me they were complying with company policy.

I asked the bank manager why they could manipulate my money, impose unauthorized holds on my account, and who was going to pau my rent for my business? The manager did not care. She kept telling me how the bank had the right to adjust the length of time for the hold as the bank deemed necessary. Hum

I thought that they had government restrictions on this bank practices. I guess Wells Fargo Bank is special and can make up the rules as they go along. I wish I had that power to withhold money that is not mine, because I would be holding Wells Fargo's money in the New Bank of Chris.

Who do you think you think you think you are? YOU ARE A BANK NOT GOD. I hold Wells Fargo responsible for any damages I suffer due to their illegal, willful acts ,with intent to defraud their customers. Wells Fargo needs to stopped, and fined or jailed or whatever is necessary for them to
do business in a fair way.

You should be ashamed of yourself along with Sandy Chow, Bank Manager of 24th Ave and Irving St branch and Angel Chau for lying to customers and being for lack of a better word a two rude bitches. Not business motivated, or banking professional, just plain rude bitches with no accountability for their actions.

Wells Fargo you need to teach your employees customer service. NOT CUSTOMER DEFRAUDING SHAMEFUL!

They don't give a damn about their customers
I find it incredulous that Wells Fargo Bank doesn’t seem to give a damn about their customers. On a number of occasions, I have send emails to their “Contact Us” POC, as instructed on their website, only to not receive any answers at all, or, sometimes nonsensical answers that are probably “canned” responses that the agents read from scripts. Unfortunately, when you ask a question or have a problem that isn’t on their scripts, they have to “choose” a response anyway, even if it is not “on point”.

Further, I have written two letters to their Headquarters location, addressed to the Office of the President, since they have no customer service POC for written complaints or problems, nor do they have a Quality or Customer Service Advocate – Incredible!! Both of these letters have been unanswered and my questions and problems are still not addressed.

This week, I sent another email message asking a straightforward question about a possible mistake on my online bank statement, only to receive an email reply asking me to call customer service for help. What the hell is this? Why provide online service if you cannot handle things online?

I find Wells Fargo Bank to be incompetent and unabashed in their advertising when they talk about superior customer service.
