Wells Fargo Bank Reviews

drained my checking account of $2000.00
I was a customer of Wells Fargo for 22 years. with the recession came a difficult time in paying off credit cards...they drained my business account of every penney without a warning. If you are looking for a bank and are a small business, DO NOT choose Wells Fargo. We have had MANY problems over the years with overcharging, etc. but have been too lazy to change banks...what a mistake!!

Auto Repossession
We are seniors (67 & 71yrs) with disabilities. I was compelled to file bankruptcy, which was discharged (12/10). January 12th, Wells Fargo Bank demanded that we pay $1, 680.54, or they will reposses our vehicle. February 3rd, we made arrangements with the Branch Mgr. to make the payment & hadn't heard from Wells Fargo, until State Recovery rang our doorbell on 4/11 at 2:45am. They said Wells Fargo was repossessing our vehicle & were notified of another payment of $1, 437.26 + $350 (repossession fee). We received notice from Wells Fargo on 4/19, stating their intention to auction our vehicle on 4/29. However, we could request an extension & it would now be $2, 410.55, to retain possession of our vehicle. When we requested an extention, they said no! I have been with Wells Fargo for more than ten years. Now, I am dismayed & considering another bank!

Overdrafting fees, charged mo. fees when there was not enough money to cover that fee, then they would place on another overage fee
I have not had an account with Wells Fargo for around three years, the bank is telling me that I owe them 357.75, which are all over draft and monthly bank fees. I tried to take care of this problem with this insutuion, I know that I had someone get into my account and take out money, then had an investigation filed with Wells Fargo, they could not find out any fraud activity, eventhough I'm 100% this occured. I'm on Social Security and had a direct deposit account, and was charged a mounthly fee for having my acount through there bank. When, I payed my mothly bill s, normally there was not more than 10.00 left in the acount; sometines there was less than that amount. I would be charged a monthly fee of around 9.00, this would overdraft my account and they would charge me 30.00 for each occurance. I then went to another bank and transferd my direct deposit to that insutuion, without difficulties. I told Wells Fargo to close my accout with them. I had though it was closed after that, they told me I owed them an amount of 277.84. Today, I recived a call from there collection department for 357.75, and were willing to accept 277.84, less 79.91 intrest fees, I further went on to state I may be willing to make payment's, I can get a 10% reduction off the 277.84 which came to 250.00, and they were willing to do so if I was to give them a postdated check for that amount today. I was not able to and told them I do not give out any post dated checks over the phone, plus the money would not be there. They also would work with me if I can make payments of around 40.00 each month, with a payment today of 25.00, I may have if I had the funds. But I don't and the money I have left in my bank has to last till the first of the month. One employee came on the phone and was vey acusitory, , and won't be sent anymore information on the brakedown of what I owe, and that I was basiclly a free loader, I have contested this from the start with direct communications to the bank, the VP of that branch. If I was 100% in the wrong they would of not gone for any negociations, and would of not tryed to pry any amount for a person who is is disabled. I feel Wells Fargo sets these accounts up with the disabled, knowing that they can possible get overdraft fees, additional charges, and when they can't collect after the accout is closed they can get even more monies by adding intrest fees. And then harrass the client until they pay. I hope and pray that my experience with them has not occured with others.

Frozen account
I spoke with Wells Fargo bank on Thursday March 31, 2011. I have direct deposit and to my surprise the bank held my entire pay check. My account online showed my direct deposit as pending, in which, I could not withdrawal any monies. The reason that Loss Prevention stated I was having my account placed on the hold was that I had non-sufficient funds (which of course the bank received their $52.00 for this non-sufficient amount). The bank in loss prevention stated they were closing my account due to the two non-sufficient funds. I am at this point very concerned why I cannot obtain my money.
On April 1, 2011, I noticed the pending action is not on my account and it shows to me that my funds are available, but yet I cannot withdrawal my money. I was not informed by phone or email of any closure on my account prior to my direct deposit only to be shockingly surprised when I go to the bank to obtain $20.00 that my ATM was not working. I have direct deposit so there should be no question as to the bank receiving good funds to cover any necessary fees for non-sufficient funds. I was advised to call again on Monday, April 04, 2011 to see if the bank would release my funds. Yet again, another surprise the bank failed to inform me of is that they are not giving me my money back and that I have a prior account with them that is in debt of $2, 000.00 which comes to a surprise to me as well. I feel the proper way to handle business with them knowing I had a prior account that was due money that the bank would be professional enough to inform me at the time I opened my new account on February 28, 2011 so that way I could make arrangements for this past due amount to be paid on a monthly term instead of going the back door under minded way-- which not only disrupts my personal financial life, but makes me more aware that I will NEVER do business with another financial institution that can control my monies. There still can be a better way to handle this situation then to strip a person from their daily living. This is how I pay my bills and take care of my family in this bad economy. The best way and decent way Wells Fargo could of handled this was to tell me of this outstanding balance when I opened my account on February 28, 2011 and o make arrangements, instead they tip toed around it and took my full pay check without any warning. There must be laws to protect the consumer.

unprofessional employes
This is in regards to Wells Fargo Bank, the department that handles home titles.I am trying to make a cash deal on a home in Pahrump Nevada, where the former homeowner had an accident, and was forced to abandon the property, over 7 months ago.My real estate agent had written many letters, but the people who work in this home title office, cannot seem to be organized.they are aware of the whole story behind the circumstances of this home, but they cannot be professional.I would like to get in touch with the vise president of Wells Fargo, to lodge a formal complaint! Also I am strongly considering, going to the Las Vegas Review Journal, to tell this story. In simple terms, I would like to purchase this home, where the former homeowner had to abandon because of health reasons, and she was friends with my friends, who are neihbors, and I am renting a room at my friends house waiting for the paperwork to get worked out, but these people who work at wells fargo keep requesting information from the previous homeowner, who is now living in California, who has left this house 7 months ago, and doesn't want to deal with the bank anymore.I am a well established client of Wells Fargo, I bank with them, but that hasn't helped me in any way.How could it be so hard to buy a house that Wells Fargo now ownes??????? I hope somebody would see this story and I would hope that Wells Fargo would take a close look a their employes, who handle the forclosed homes. They are not the most educated people, and don't care about selling a home to a cash buyer! thank you for reading this, I hope other people, wouldn't have this kind of bad luck, dealing with a bank owned home, especially, Wells Fargo Bank.

Employee improper immodesty
We were in the bank today and the woman employee with whom we met had on a push up bra with cleavage exposed. Proper modest attire needs to be enforced. Thanks.

closed account
I also expierenced the same thing. Unauthorized charges to my account and additional five to six overdraft fees. Seems loss and prevention team concluded that they were in fact unauthorized but none of the service fees were returned. The following month they closed my account, froze my debit card . I couldn't have access to my account which meant that I couldn't pay my creditors, in addition to that they would always re-arrange my account. One day my transactions are paid, the next week they disappeared back and forth. They would post and pend my direct deposit. The CSR would practically laugh when I told him I would report them to "Department of Banking" or the Attorney General. The only thing I could figure it's thier way of not getting caught -no balance sheet- so you can't keep track of balances - unauthorized/outrages fees. Extra income for the company - consumer flips the bill. The local company is located in one area, the loss prevention in another area, loan reproduction in another etc. running wild and now they merged with another company.

Charges
My bank was taken over by WF. When I closed the account they changed me a $25 fee to close the account. If you did that to WF they would call that robery and put you in jail.

Froze My accounts
Wells Fargo bank is the worst bank there is. I honestly do not know why people is still bank ing with them. I filed chapter 7 bankruptcy and they froze my accounts taking everything. The trustee had nothing to do with it. They didn't even ask if the money was exempt. Now they won't release my money til the trustee tells them too but the trustee didn't tell you to freeze my money. WORST BANK EVER!
