not enough Information
I have been a loyal customer of Wells Fargo for years and recently found myself needing a power of attorney which I obtained...then when all was better and I no longer needed the POA. I went to my local branch got the information I needed to remove the POA from my account went back with the information requested and with my POA and was told I needed additional information and have it notarized.
Well it was a Saturday when I returned to receive this "great" news and there was no notary in until Monday the following week, my POA and I rearranged our schedules to complete this SIMPLE transaction (so we thought) I called Wells Fargo directly to inquire again why I was told one thing and then another at the branch...as if I expected an answer...Now I must jump through more hoops to satisfy Wells Fargo again ! I am sick and tired of these conglomerates taking advantage of the little guy!

Can't get my money
My 96 year old mother and I have had a CD Time account with Wells Fargo Bank since 1992 (opened in San Francisco). We have been living in Italy since 2001. The account recently was up for renewal I attempted to contact SEVERAL Wells offices to cancel the account and have our money wired to Europe. I was treated as total scum, as if the money wasn't ours to invest as we wanted. Keep in mind that Wells was offering us a rate of .4% on $106, 000. I still have no, no, resolution and they treat me as if I'm a robber of their funds. HELP, HELP...I want my money!!! Total scumbags...thanks...

refinance
We spent the last year working with Wells Fargo on refinancing our second home to help put us in a better financial state. We met all the conditions they required. We were just simply told by the lender that they would not do the refi. We could not of had better credit, background and financials. We feel that they just did not want to loan the money at this low interest rate at this time. So much for the Obama admin telling people to get their finances in order and make good decisions. The banks do what they want for their benefit, not ours. We have been with Wells Fargo for 10 years. I told them that they lied to me and misrepresented themselves. We have choices also and we will be making one to change banks. Also, I am letting everyone know our story. Word of mouth is huge! This is another situation where you can not trust what is going on in our world today. Beware!

credit cards, credit report, etc
We moved here from Canada 2 yrs ago with over $200, 000 cash. I had to wait 4 yrs for my visa. We bought a house for $300, 000 and put approximately 100, 000 down on it. We then had to spend another $20, 000 to repair it. Since then I have put another 60, 000 (large shop) into the property and I have worked for a US company for 8 months then started a business employing profesionals in the area. The bank would not put my name on the mortgage because I was still working for a Canadian company. I was a long haul trucker and owned a 2000 Volvo truck free and clear and drove from Calgary, Alberta to Miami and various points along the mexican border hauling meat. They also would not accept my Canadian credit information which was very good, but religated me to that of a high school grad with nothing. At that point I was worth about $250, 000 and had only the new mortgage as debt. I applied for a credit card and was turned down because of lack of credit history. My Canadian credit card has a $32, 000 limit on it and was almost always paid up on time. I finally got one from Wells Fargo but had to pre-pay $500 for it. I set it up to be automatically withdrawn if I forgot because I was trying to improve my credit rating from the 0 that it was. I used it while on the road in my truck and always kept up the pre-paid on it. When I quit trucking I quit using the card. Shortly afterward I recieved a note that I was overdrawn on my checking account and when I checked it was because the automaic withdrawl had taken out a payment for the credit card. I cancelled that and the next month got a letter telling me they had not recieved my minimum payment for the credit card and charges had been added along with interest. After many calls to find out why I had to make payments on my own money I was told that it was a regular credit card and my money was only being held to secure it. So I have to 1] make payments on my own money and 2] pay interest on it as well as 3] pay any charges the bank wishes to add such as late payment fees etc. I don't see that they are paying me any interest on my $500 they are holding. I was also advised that they could not give me a real credit card because my score was under 600, when it was 640 that day. I have since been advised that I will not be able to qualify for another year because I missed making a payment on my own money when I quit using the card.
I also attempted to acquire some overdraft protection recently and after over a month and about 5 different agencies in Wells Fargo I don't qualify. Oh yes they will take my volvo S60 as colateral to pay off my 1700 credit card. I am presently worth almost $200, 000 and my credit rating has gone up to 670 so what is the problem. We have started up a new account at another bank and recieved a $2500 credit card on the spot. I have also been approved for a $50, 000 loan on another truck that I will be picking up soon. I have never been more humiliated by a bank in all my life and greatly resent it. Another embarasing thing is that they cannot seem to get my name right. It is W. Ralph Clark and they will not change it from William R. Clark. I have been known as Ralph from birth (parents choice) and would like to keep it that way. The other bank had no problem withthe name at all. I have been humiliated beyond reason by this bank and think they need a lesson in customer appreciation.

I did received 6 letter on dated 1/25/10 from wells Fargo bank regarding closing all my business and pesonal accounts without telling any reason. Today i did go to my branch talked to Mr ALEX GONZALEZ, he could not tell me why my accounts was closing. The letter i received from is MR DAVID CHRISTENSEN Assistant Vice President PH 1866527-5590 EXT 5121. I did call Mr David and left the message, but he did not return my call all day. So wells Fargo is harasing me without any reason and spoiling my business, If they did not reopened my accounts I will take this matter to court and will sue the bank for harasment and some other wrong doing.

Deposits Go Missing
We have three different family accounts with Wells Fargo. Every account has had mulitple espisodes of deposits that just go missing. In each situation WF has been completely unaware and "mystified" - I go into the branch, show them the receipt and they tell me they will research it. Always it is the same answer. The teller did everything correctly, but something went wrong when the deposit left the bank and it was "lost". All of the funds so far have been recovered, but having this happen so often is very strange and the fact I have always had to discover the problem myself while they are clueless is very disturbing. If you bank at WF, NEVER loose a receipt and watch your account daily to make sure your deposit is actually credited to your account.

Discrimination and Negligence
My room mate and I are in our early 60's. We are both service connected disabled Veterans and have a combined income of nearly $300, 000/yr. We own 107 acres of land with water south of Pueblo, CO. We applied for a construction to permanent loan about14 months ago with Wells Fargo Bank in Pueblo. After 3 surveys and over 15 credit checks by Wells Fargo, we still do not have the loan. We were very close to closing our loan in January, 2009. The Construction Loan Manager told our builder to begin building. $70, 000 and 3 months later, the loan did not go to closing. Wells Fargo agents gave us multiple excuses why the loan did not close, but the real reason was negligence on part of the Mortgage agent, who was having personal problems and was taking files home to work on. He lost parts of our file mutiple times and never finished it so that it could go to the underwriters. The Bank managers were unaware of the negligence of this Mortgage agent until we began to complain. The Branch Manager told us we would have closed in January if the agent had done his job. Instead of firing him, Wells Fargo transferred him to a branch in another city. After January, we began to run into changing banking lasws due to the Recession. Each time Wells Fargo agents told us to do something to qualify for the loan, we did, which included the pay off of all of our debt except for auto loans, etc. In addition to the $70, 000 we paid on the foundation and basement because Wells Fargo told our builder to build, we paid from our reserves, nearly another $60, 000 to pay off our debts; although our debt to income ratios were well within the limits at the time. Our file has passed through the hands of the first negligent agent, the Branch Manager, and now a third new agent. We have just been told that we must now move off our land until the house is built. We were told that this was not a Wells Fargo rule. However, when checking with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac representatives, this is not a Federal rule. When I challenged the "rule" and involved my Senator, Wells Fargo responded by upping my down payment to 30% and I must now have an additional 10% in reserves. This is plain retalliation by the bank. We were told by the Branch Manager that there may be concern that we might "walk away" from the project or not live to pay off the loan. This is clear negligence and age discrimination by Wells Fargo Bank.

Uncooperative in refinancing
Obama says that he will see to it that banks cooperate in the modification of home loans to avoid foreclosure. My granddaughter and family have been trying (WF is very hard to connect with) to get a modification. Husband is working but pay has been cut as well as hours. There are three small children. Mom is going to school to get into a nursing job to help the family. They are trying so hard, but as it goes now they face foreclosure. Does WF really want another house?

Loan Modification Handling Screw Ups
I have been having serious difficulty in trying to get Wells Fargo Mortgage to look over and process my request for mortgage relief under a Govt. mortgage relief program.
My Complaint:
Due to unemployment created cash flow difficulties and facing a roof that is 20 years old and needing replacement, cobra payment increases expected in 2010. etc., I contacted Wells Fargo (more than a month ago) and asked if there was a means of getting some kind of reduction in my monthly mortgage payment.
Wells Fargo informed that there was a govt. program that might be able to reduce my monthly mortgage payment and that I needed to forward fairly detailed financial information regarding my living expenses and earnings (unemployment checks only at present) to Wells Fargo Borrower Counseling Services.
• On October 29th, 2009 I sent this information (fax # 866-359-7363) to the Wells Fargo Borrower Counseling Services Division (Fort Mill, South Carolina)
• I was informed a few days later that they required additional proof of my unemployment check amounts. That information was faxed to them on Nov.4th, 2009.
• A couple of days later I called Wells Fargo to confirm that they had received all the information I sent them and asked if any additional information was needed. Wells Fargo informed me then that they had all the information they needed to process my loan modification request.
• On Nov. 18th, 2009, I received a letter from Wells Fargo, explaining that my loan modification request was cancelled.
• I had made no such request!!! I had made no contact with Wells Fargo between when I phoned them to verify they had all the information they needed to process my loan modification and when I received by mail a notification that my loan modifcation was cancelled.
• On Nov.18th, 2009, I called Wells Fargo for I really needed the loan modification -to find out why my request was cancelled and what I could do to get it reinstated-because the reason for cancellation was not disclosed in the Well Fargo correspondence. No reason for the cancellation was put in the records accessible to the Wells Fargo representative I contacted by phone (800-222-0238) either. That Wells Fargo representative phoned the Borrower Counseling Services Division and they reported to him that I had cancelled the loan modification request. No details beyond this statement were given to me.
• I had to repeat the submission of all my information and a hardship letter on Nov. 11, 2009 so that hopefully this time they will process the information as I requested. I also requested details regarding how the cancellation request they say I made was made.
The Issue:
They tell me that the processing of a loan modification takes 60-90 days and because I had to resubmit all my information to start the process again. I have lost 30 days (i.e. a full mortgage payment) due to Wells Fargo's actions (or inaction in this case).
Regardless of the basis for this hurtful and incompetent handling of my mortgage I wish to make out a complaint against Wells Fargo in hopes that this complaint and that your investigations will somehow lead to Wells Fargo treating its mortgagees in a fair, timely, and reasonable manner. Since my application for some financial relief is now delayed, this delay will cause significant financial hardship.
