Jeopardized their customer's job!
We're getting our home refinanced, and Wells Fargo is the holder of our 1st mortgage (they bought the loan from another company). I work in a small office in a sea of cubicles next to co-workers, and everyone not only knows your personal business when you talk on the phone, but they know that you are conducting personal business at the office (which is discouraged). So my husband, who travels for his business and is home for long periods at a time, makes our personal calls when he is home.
When he called Wells Fargo last week, an operator named Chad told him that they just needed to get my authorization for him to talk for both of us, and we would be all set. Apparently, what Chad at Wells Fargo told us was not true. After getting my "authorization" (which I sacrificed some of my lunch break to do at his request), what he provided my husband with was no more than what we could have gotten by typing "GFE" into a search engine. We had to provide all of the details to fill in the form (except for the interest rate and Wells Fargo's fees). Chad did nothing but type what we said into a standard form. That was disappointing.
The upsetting part came today, when my phone rang at work. It was Chad. He said that he was "having trouble" reaching my husband (who was sitting next to the phone at home, so I'm not sure what the trouble was). I apologized for our lousy home phone service, and asked him to try again. His response to me was "and what are the last four digits of your social security number?" Thinking he was confused, I apologized again and told him to please call my husband, since phone calls at work were not good for me. You would think he would understand, and not want to jeapordize the job of his own mortgage borrower in such a tough economy. Instead, he became rude and started arguing with me on my work phone!
He told me that I had not filled out the proper paperwork to authorize him to talk to my husband. I reminded him that I had just done what he told me to do - and that if there was any paperwork to fill out, to please send it to me at my home address or email it, and I would return it as soon as possible. His response floored me - he said "you're the one who has the issue with talking on the phone, so if you're going to be difficult for me to deal with, we're done." I was stunned. I said "excuse me?" Yep - he repeated it. All I could say was, "Wow, that was really rude. I can't believe you speak to customers that way." How is requesting paperwork he told me I needed to fill out being difficult? I assume it's because there is no such paperwork, and he lashed out when he was caught in a lie.
He then proceeded to rattle off his his first and last name for me very arrogantly, as if daring me to complain to someone about his harsh manner. I would gladly print the name here if I didn't already know for sure that he lied about not being able to reach my husband at home - so I'm afraid he gave me someone else's name, too. We'll just call him Chad P - he was working the phones at 10 AM on 10/7/08.
I'm still in shock. We're refinancing now just to get away from Wells Fargo. It's more than they don't care about their customers - they attack them!

Wells Fargo Auto Finance ripoff hurting millions of common Americans!
I purchased a vehicle in late 2005 and used Wells Fargo as my finance company. I added the vehicle on to our existing insurance policy with Allstate and maintained that until switching agents (still with Allstate). We then changed to a family agent who placed us with TOPA/RMIS. We have never... (paste the above info into your web browser to read these full stories.)

Charging my payments to an unnecessary insurance co!
I have been reading all the complaints against Wells Fargo and have found so many I can not count them all. My complaint is basically the same as all the others, being cheated by this terrible company. If there were any way for me to get out of this loan I would. My payments have been being...

Scam and fraud
I have been reading about all the rip offs that wells Fargo has been doing to everybody and I am having the same problems, I am a disabled vet and had fallen five months behind in payments. I told wells Fargo that I would not be able to make these payments in advance so they would know what is going on. Of course I had at least five phone calls a day from them and would answer the same questions over and over and finally I filed bankrupts to end the calls and to make it where I would actually be able to keep my house and able to make the payments.
I called wells Fargo and told them this and of course they had to have a financial statement and a letter stating why I fell behind and proof of income. I sent this and was told to make a house payment and they would not foreclose and everything would be fine and not to worry about it, three days later I got a letter saying I was denied the payment plan because I could not make the payments. I called and asked what this was about and was told to ignore it. I made the payment then received a letter saying I had to make a double payment not a single and for a year my payment would be about $200.00 extra. I called and told them I couldn't do that cause of a tight budget. Then they wanted me to send in another financial worksheet and a statement saying why I fell behind and proof of income, so I did and they came up with another payment plan I couldn't make. I did this four times and told them my wage stays the same every month and the budget is the same and the reason why I fell behind is the same!!!
I called and talked to someone about my expenses every month and they said I had over $700.00 left at the end of the month. I tried to go over every expense over and over again to get the numbers in her head and finally got close to what it should be for my monthly expenses and I just gave up. Now they want to do a loan modification and want me to send in $521.62 not for a house payment but to give to someone to say yes or no on the loan modification.
I am about to say the hell with this crap and let them have the house back. I only owe $2500 in over due payments and I feel like this loan modification is another stupid game, I now have a lawyer working pro bono on this, but I am fed up with there games and will never do business with these idiots again. I know I have a long road ahead of me to get this straighten out and you would think with all of these complaints that someone would do something to this company, maybe sue the hell out of them and give the proceeds back to the people they are ripping off!

Escrow Account Shortage
After paying $1222 a month for my mortgage for 20 months, I was informed that my payment would increase to $1950 due to a $7500 shortage in my escrow account. I have a fixed interest rate and neither my insurance or taxes went up. They said I could pay them the $7500 to keep the payments the same as before. Unfortunately, I do not have anywhere close to that available, nor can I afford that type of an increase into my budget. Wells Fargo Home Mortgage should not be in business due to their inability to professionally run an escrow account that they require I have. I can see from other posts that I am not alone, but I felt the need to add yet one more complaint against this less than poor company.

Harassing calls!
Wells Fargo is my last choice for future mortgages. I currently have two mortgages with them, one is a rental property. I’ve had the rental loan for 7 years now. I’ve never had to pay a late fee. The tenants have until the 5th to pay, so I send out the payment to WF on the 8th. I have until the 15th according to the loan docs. Since last year they call my home at all hours, weekdays and weekends to harass me until they get the payment. They wake up my toddler and interrupt our family dinners. Whenever I talk to a rep, they are rude and condescending. I am outraged!

Unprofessional and incompetent!
Worst customer service I have ever experienced, unprofessional, incompetent and unexperienced loan officers, no one ever answers the phone, no one returns calls, They all need more training. Office should be closed due to poor and unacceptable business practices. Will report them to any and all agencies that can be found. The entire mortgage business of Wells Fargo needs to be investigated.

Sat on my 7 short sale offers for 3.5 months forcing foreclosure!
Wells Fargo intially miss-calculated my escrow account -- when they corrected it, it raised my mortgage by 1/3 without warning. After a year and a half of trying to keep up with the new mortgage plus escrow, I was forced to try and sell my house.
I found seven (7!!) buyers -- one with CASH for my house -- and Wells Fargo sat on the offers for 3.5 months. By the time they finally responded, all of the buyers had gone -- and the their foreclosure department had started the foreclosure process even though it was their own namesake's negligence that caused the delay.
More than three months we contacted them endlessly for a response to our offers on the house, and no response. Even the department dealing with banking is inept -- depositing checks of mine int the wrong account then charging me overdraft fees for their error... to name one instance.
Wells Fargo is simply too big for it's own good and it's us that has to pay for it.

Worst customer service I have ever experienced
Wells Fargo Home Mortgage
www.wellsfargo.com
I refinanced a home loan with Wells Fargo obtaining a loan with a different company. Loan with Wells Fargo was paid off 8/31/07. I am owed $1400.00 escrow refund. per Wells Fargo website, procedure is to issue the refund check 15 days after the loan payoff. I waited 21 days. Called Wells Fargo cust. svc and was told they have until 28th of Sept. for my receipt of the check, stating the check was mailed from Des Moines, IA on Sept. 17th. I live in a suburb of Des Moines. Considered same metro area. I did not receive the check on the 28th so I called back that day after my mail had been delivered. I spoke to "Teon" who told me he would place a stop pay on the first check, so if I happen to receive the first check, I should discard it. He said a new check would be "OVERNIGHTED" to me and received no later than the following Tuesday.
On Saturday, I received the first check, but no good because a stop pay was placed, per Teon. Took 12 days to be delivered 8 miles from Wells Fargo. However, I was assured I would receive a new check Tuesday. Did not receive check on Tuesday, called back. Wed, Oct. 3rd. Rep. said she could not tell what was happening with the refund, no notations. She asked who I had spoken to on Friday. I could not find the name immediately. She said she could not determine what was being done without the name. I said I would find the name and call back. Found the name few moments later and called back, of course different person this time. I asked to speak with Teon. Was told not allowed to transfer call to Teon, because Teon had not placed a notation on the account giving permission to transfer call to him. This call was now being handled by "Stacy" Stacy said she could not tell what was happening with the refund based on computer records, she could not even tell if a stop pay had been placed on the first check, which I now had in hand, but she said I could not deposit, because it may be returned. I asked if she could go talk to Teon, and she incredibly said she was not allowed to do that. I asked to speak to Teon's supervisor and she put me on hold for 10 minutes. Upon Stacy's return, she said it would take 24 hours to determine if a stop pay was placed on the check and another 24 hours to issue a second check. She said she would need to send an Email, per procedure, to Teon and Teon's supervisor, whose name is Aretha Andrews. Stacy assured me absolutely 100% that Ms. Andrews would call me the following day to update me on what the outcome was of the inquiry. Stacy gave me Ms. Andrews direct number and I asked Stacy to place a notation on my account that allows me to call her back if I need to. She assured me she would do that and guaranteed that Ms. Andrews would call me. That phone call did not come. I called back the day after I was to receive the promised call. I called the direct number I was given for Ms. Andrews and got her voice mail. I left a message. I then called the Cust Svc number and asked for Stacy, rep. said he was not allowed to transfer calls to other Rep's. He said Stacy had not placed the notation on my account as she had promised. I am now starting over and explaining the whole thing over again to brand new people. As of now, someone named Chad Fease has assured me a new check is being issued today, Oct. 5th, and I will receive the check no later than Monday.
I maintained a mortgage loan with Wells Fargo for 11 years and they made a nice chunk of change from my interest payments. To put it simply, I do not deserve to be treated this way.

Beware of this company!
Wells fargo home mortgage sent an appraiser for reverse mortgage with expired license, under appraised the house by 7000 dollars according third federal and drew the wrong diagram of the home. Wells fargo then wanted 5000 dollars to continue the process for the mortgage. Wells fargo home mortgage is located in Minneapolis.
