Wells Fargo Reviews

Mortgage
I have contacted Wells Fargo numerous times to resolve an issue before it starts. I recently became a single mother. My ex-husband and I applied for the mortgage on my home 5 years ago. After 13 years of marriage, we dissolved it amicably. Our divorce became final at the end of September, 2009. We do have 1 child together and kept a joint account to pay for necessary things for him. We dissolved that account around the time our divorce was final. I have had my ex-husband removed from the deed of my home, and have been trying everything to remove him from the mortgage. I went through a mortgage modification process, and after finding out that I would have to pay more each month until investors would make up their mind, I threw the offer in the trash. Again, a single mother and can barely make the mortgage payment now. Keep in mind, my fico score from all three credit bureaus is over 750! I do not pay late under any circumstances. This process is very stressful, and I am trying to do the right thing here rather than walking away from the home and loan. For the last month or two I have been trying to work with Wells Fargo on a refinance to remove my ex-husband from the mortgage. I was approved by myself for the loan, based on my income, job stability (13 years with the same company) and credit scores. I received a good faith estimate, and the loan papers to sign and send back. After receiving a call from the loan officer to go over the loan with me, she asked for one more piece of documentation. She asked me for a copy of a bank statement or something to prove that I have been paying for the home by myself for 1 year. I don’t have that account any longer, and I have had my own account since July of 2009. If I am approved based on job stability, income and fico score, what does the other matter? We are divorced, he is not on my deed now, and he doesn’t work half of the time anyway. I can show you W2’s from the last 13 years and you will see who has been paying for the mortgages based on income alone. Last year he made 7k dollars for the entire year! This is a reason that we are divorced now.

Unfortunately, your company continues to make it more and more difficult for me to fix a situation that has to be corrected. I have to remove my ex-husband off of the mortgage, and no matter what I try to do with Wells Fargo, it seems as though it is impossible. I am disappointed because I am trying to do the right thing here, instead of throwing my hands up and giving your company another foreclosure or short sale. Please address this situation, and help me to remove my ex-husband and lower my payment. If this can not be done, I will have no choice but to give you my home.

Home Loan Modification
It has been over 1 1/2 that I applied for a home loan modication with Wells Fargo as I am suffering a hardship in Arizona. The one and only offer I received 1 day ago is to extend the length of my loan by an additional 10 years - how is this a help as this only increases my debt and puts more $$ in their pocket! Does anyone have a name and number for an affordable attorney? I have sent numerous letters and like others have spent countless hours on the phone with less than experienced representatives who speak of the "mystery investory" and the "mystery negotiatior". I have also reached out to the Office of the President and again no concrete help. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Desperate in Tolleson, AZ where foreclosures are skyrocketing!

Mortgage workout from Hell
Beginning in March I was trying to workout a payment plan and modification with Wells Fargo. They agreed to this during a 3 way conversation with Auriton Solutions. I faxed the three pieces of information requested on numerous occassions and sent and faxed an Avidavit. Each time I called it was a different person, often times transferred, different numbers, different addresses.I was told that some items were missing or too old and to resend. On June 3oth I spoke with an agent. I requested his name, employee number and nuber to send the required documentation to as I was tired of papers being lost. I sent as requested, and phoned back as he requested. I was never able to find him again. I left messages and never received a call back. In mid July I called and was told the house had been sold on July 1st. I have been trying ever since to get financing or help to remain in my property. There is no help to be had. On January 4th my house became the property of Wells Fargo. The amount of money to redeem would have been as much or more than the property would sell for. They refused payment on February 4th, which would have been a week late. I received a check mid March for 2700.00 which they stopped payment the next week and reissued a check for $ 850. (est) Through the next months they were unwilling to negotiate in any way with anyone I had contact them. Today I called to speak to an employee whose name was on a letter I received today. I was transferred to a manager who refused to direct me to the person. I was told the property was Foreclosed, that they had no reason to speak to me. I was Tresspassing, to move on, pack up and move out.( not direct quote)
This property never should have been Foreclosed upon. It has appeared that this company has wanted to take this property from the beginning. Are they getting money in form of Government payback or tax deduction? It smells as though there is a gain here for them, otherwise why would they not take payments or try to negotiate rather than take the property?

Stay away
Some years ago, my wife cosigned as an accommodation for our not yet 21 year old son to attend Mary Washington University in Fredricksburg, VA. Wells Fargo Education Financial Services (WFEFS) made the loans and since he was not of legal age, the wife cosigned. Some years later the lad is out of school, 24 years old and has encountered some financial and legal problems, now unable to pay the student loans my wife was an accommodation signer because of his contractually under legal age status at their incurrance. Instead of even contacting him on his past due status, WFEFS has demanded payment from my wife in full, charging around a 50% interest rate for the "late payment" charges. The only person that received benefit of the funds derived from these student loans was our son and neither my wife or I received any benefit of the funds. Clearly, the obligation rests upon the adult child but WFEFS will not even send him a past due notice let alone make a collection call to entice him to pay. Now, we in our advanced years are going to have to cough up $25K to pay these loan sharks who have even agreed to attempt collection from the son but DO NOT even contact or send him any notices, routing everything to my wife. This all started when my wife left employ of Wells Fargo & Company (WFC) at the beginning of 2009. WFC is the worst employer in the world and they tried to thwart her from drawing out any of her 401 K and profit sharing funds last year even before the student loans were past due. WFC and John Stumpf are without a doubt (I have written to Mr. Stumpf appealing for his assistance to resolve many of the issues) the most egregious parties as employers and as a human I have ever found, despicable.

Modification ripp off
I don't know how many people have the same story with Wells Fargo, they put you on a "Trial Payment Program" before supposedly "modifying" your loan. They don't tell you that "we no longer accept partial payments" and that your reduced "trial payment" is going to be reported on your credit as derogatory. Thus they ruin your credit. They they ask for payment of the penalties in order to"improve the chances of getting a modification." Isn't that extortion?

unethical fees
Wells Fargo, I discovered today, in addition to all their other various and egregious fees, now also charges a person $2.50 for every "non-Wells Fargo" ATM withdrawal one makes, that is in addition to the machine's service charge.

How can this possibly be legal? Already they charge us money just to transfer money from our savings to our checking account. They overdraw us for a $0.60 payment when we have DEPOSITED A CHECK from the State of Minnesota days earlier but it "had not yet cleared." Are they anticipating that a check from the State of MN will bounce? These people are unequivocal criminals. Do not even start up with them, it's practically impossible to get out. Horrible business, absolutely awful.

Hires criminals
Not only does Wells Fargo suck as a bank in general but they also just let any moron work there. You know, I really thought banks screened their applicants and did background checks but I guess not. The Wells Fargo in Cupertino California on Homestead Road has a felon working in their bank. This guy beat up his ex girlfriends and went to jail for it and is somehow working in a bank handling people and money. He has a long history of alcohol abuse and domestic violence charges yet this institution still employed him. I also thought that banks ran credit checks, why would you let someone who has an eviction on his record and cannot even handle his own finances work in a bank as well. In this economy there are hardworking people who deserve a job and this how Wells Fargo chooses to hire. If you ask me Wells Fargo is just a bad choice all around. You don't even know who is handling your money. Oh and Joshua Olivas is the name of the employee that I am speaking of. I was shocked to find that he got hired.
