Posting debits late
I've noticed that every since Wells Fargo bought out Wachovia, their practice has changed for the worst as it relates to consumers. Wachovia used to post your debits to their website and flag it as pending. They would also deduct the pending amount from your balance, showing 2 balances; one without the pending debit and one with it. I've found that Wells Fargo holds your debits for days before posting them at all. Since we're in an electronic age, we don't use the old check book balance method because we constantly swipe our card instead of filling out a check and recording it in a ledger. We leave it to the banks and check our balance for debits, credits, etc. This has been the last time that I'm going to allow Wells Fargo to do this to me. I've been with Wachovia for over 10 years and not its time to leave. Wells Fargo is depending on this method to get overdraft charges from its customers. Here are a couple of instances that happened to me. My wife paid for her classes over the phone with the finance dept. They instantly said it went through and gave her a receipt. The amount was $400. This debit never showed up on my account until 3 days later. Although I remembered such a large purchase, I didn't remember the stops at star bucks throughout the week or the other small purchases that add up. I just logged in to my account to see 5 additional debits now flagged as pending that I made 4 days ago and forgot about. As we have started to depend on banks to keep track of our debit card transactions, Wells Fargo has took advantage of this to hold on to your charges so that you'd forget and post them to your account days later hoping you forgot and blow your budget, causing an overdraft. I'm so done with Wells Fargo as this has happened to me multiple times since they took over Wachovia (never happened with Wachovia) and has caused me to go in the negative some of those times. ...I'm done!!!

being charged a 7.00 fee
I walked in and spoke to Ryan Steiba agent. I told him my wife has an account there and a mortgage there as well. I told him i needed to cash one check which is drawn on Wells Fargo and then deposit said cash into my wife's account along with 2 other checks of hers. Ryan seemed nice and told me that there would be a check charge for 7.00 regardless of weather the check was deposited or cashed and regardless of the fact they already have an account holder there. That really angered me I asked for the manager Darrin Creech. As I walked away Ryan was smiling. I told Darrin Creech about it and did not even get an apology from the smirk from Ryan and he just told me no can't do it. These are pure jerks. Then I went and asked one of the online people and they said they would not charge my wife for putting the check into the account and they said it would go through right then. I have never had a problem at this location until now. STAY AWAY FROM WELLS FARGO

Its not Wells Fargo, its the businesses that have up to 45 days to charge your account with ANY purchase!
I talked with an associate at Wells Fargo yesterday (May 23, 2011) who talked to someone on the phone and confirmed that MOST businesses have up to 45 days to process any transaction you make. My problem is that the money came out of my account after I already made each purchase (I went on vacation from May 10, 2011 to May 17, 2011). After the transactions were made and the money came out, the assholes took out more money and Wells Fargo said it was because the businesses didn't process any payments until 7 days later (after I got back from my vacation which lasted a 7 days). Some transactions didn't post until the 19th!!! Then he told me (the manager) that the bank can only post to the account when the business sends the transaction to them, but every purchase I made already showed in my account. And despite it showing in my account, I still ended up overdrafted when I shouldn't have been. The dude took the fees off, but I still owe $10.81 which I need to deposit before I close my account. I deposited $60 the day after I got back from my vacation, on the 18th of May 2011, cause I owed my boyfriend some money. I sent it to him the day after I deposited it (May 19, 2011) and everything was fine with my account. I still had $13 but Wells Fargo said that when I sent out the $60 it sent my account into overdraft.
The Wells Fargo dude said that after I made the $60 deposit, it showed that I had over $200 and I told him that was not true because when I logged into my account it said I had $78. Basically he thought the situation was bizzare and one of the bank tellers also thought it to be bizzare. At least he took the fees off though and I only owe $10.81. I hate Wells Fargo. You know something is really fishy with Wells Fargo when its own associates working at the Wells Fargo company closest to where you live think that your situation is bizzare as much as you do. I am sick of overdraft fees that I shouldn't owe at all. All transactions are supposed to be instant. Even the manager confirmed this but said its on the business on when they decide to actually process a transaction, which can be anywhere from 1 second to 45 days. Ridiculous isn't it? No one else at other banks have this problem though which I think is weird. Even if the money shows as PENDING in your account, the money already came out and you shouldn't be charged with overdraft fees. That's not how it works with Wells Fargo though. Money hungry bastards.

Reverse Mortgage Department dealings
My mother and brother both perished in a house fire in January of this year. My mother, unfortunately, had a reverse mortgage with Wells Fargo. I have just been appointed executor of her estate as her daughter and also resided at the residence where the fire occurred. I thought that I could talk to Wells Fargo about what happened and the loss of my mother and myhome, and discuss payment of my mom's loan. Wells Fargo was insensitive, argumentative and highly unprofessional and was threatening towards me. Shame on you and I feel sorry for anyone else who may have dealings with Wells Fargo.

Auto opening e-mail's.
It's Saturday 1140 am, my Ex girlfriend had my Wells Fargo account numbers. I went to my nearest WF location and changed accounts. I emphasized; "I Don't Want ON-Line Banking!" I get home and I'll be damned but there are 4 e-mails in my in-box. "Hmmmm". I created a folder to stick them in, checked off the little green box, click "send" to new folder and the damn thing opened instead. Then I sent it to the folder with no problem. There are 3 remaining unopened Wells Fargo e-mails, , , , , , , , , . (Fluke???) Gotta see if it happens again. I clicked the box, found the folder and clicked send. It opened too. The 2 remaining mails did the same thing and needed to be opened before I could folder them.
Why is Wells Fargo so Hell Bent on getting into my computer???? Are they developing software that they can use against us someday?

Overdraft Fees and Pending Transactions
This is the worst bank in my opinion. I went on vacation in early May 2011 (10th to the 17th). I had made sure I had enough money and did make a lot of purchases (most of it being food). The problem with this? Well, I had a lot of PENDING transactions. For each purchase I made though, the money had already come out of my account even though the transactions were pending. Now I have overdraft fees because Wells Fargo decided to take out MORE money for the transactions even though the money had came out previously while I was on vacation. Wells Fargo basically DOUBLED the price for each pending transaction. Say I bought something for $20.00. Wells Fargo would take out another $20.00. This bank is horrible. Not only that, but this bank owes me thousands of dollars which I officially have put in 3 complaints about through https://www.helpwithmybank.gov but they keep declining my request. If the bank associate hadn't illegally put my mother on my CD account making it a joint account with me, then my mother wouldn't have with drawn thousands of dollars. I was very well aware of what I told the bank associate to do and she said okay. But she didn't do what I asked her to do. For some reason the bank has on record of me signing something for a joint account with my mother which I did not do. I don't have any documents showing me and my mother having a joint account. I signed for my mother to be a BENEFICIARY which is completely different. I was told SPECIFICALLY that mother would not have any access to my money or be able to withdraw anything at all. I was lied to. I don't know how much better Bank of America is, but for the time being, I would rather put my money in the hands of Bank of America as opposed to dealing with Wells Fargo's crooked as*ses!

Overdraft Scam
I made deposit on
05/13/11 ATM CASH DEPOSIT - 1400 EAST PASSYUNK AVE PHILADELPHIA PA 4010 0000551
with around, but not less, 10$ already on it, with deposited 40$ made it 50$ all together.
48$ was to be spent on already set up automatic payments. After payments are processed I got an email from you stating that there was not enough money on my account and I am being charged 12.5$ for overdraft protection.
After talking to the bank representative and supervisor - David Reger from Minnesota Bank (totally uniformed supervisor), I found out that some amount was transferred onto saving account by YOU (2 times 2$). Transfer was done without my knowledge, i was not informed about it. By doing it, transferring money to my savings account, YOU made my checking account not have enough money, and I was charged 12.5$.
So what you did... YOU transferred money from my checking account 2 times 2$, after those transfers there was not enough money on checking account to cover 48$ payments, but at the same time on my saving account was 4$ transferred. Then you covered checking account with MY money that YOU transferred and charged me 12.5$!
You created 12.5$ profit and you want me to pay you?!
This behavior would offend my dogs intelligence.
When I made deposit at ATM, asked about account to deposit money on, I specified my checking account not savings account.
By not having control over how much money is transferred after depositing and intervals
By not being informed of the transfer amount and timing, puts YOU – Wells Fargo in position of doing transfers at the time you need it so you can charge fees. This opens up wide field for manipulation.
If I deposit 50$ onto account to pay 48$ bill I should not be charged ANY overdraft fees since it was deposited enough money to cover all my payments. By transferring money to savings account without my approval and knowledge, with simple analysis of my automatic payments, you can transfer certain amount at specific time so you do not leave enough money on the account intentionally and charge fees. Like you did in my case.
This is scam!
I want my 25$ ( 2 x 12.5$) back.

Customer Service
My account was recently switched to Wells Fargo, I was a long time Wachovia customer. And my complaint is not because I am partial to Wachovia, they had their own issues. My complaint is about the transition, and the fact that Wells Fargo canceled my debit/visa, then I had to spend 30 minutes escalating to receive a reason and for them to act like they moved mountains to have it "rushed" to me in 2 business days. The reality is on April 19, 2011 I received an e-mail saying I was to receive a new card, then on April 21 received an e-mail to disregard the previous e-mail "stating a new card has been shipped to you." SO my mistake, I did just that and disregarded, only to attempt to use my card today with more than sufficient funds, and be declined at a local store that I am a known frequent customer. SO Wells Fargo thanks for your ineptitude and completely embarrassing me, then putting me through a horrible customer service call where I had to beg to receive a card.

monthly service fee
Tow years ago we opened an account at wells fargo for ourserves and our son who lives and studies in another town so we can move funds to him. When we opened an account we were told to open savings and checking accounts for us and a checking account for our son and the minimum amount needed to have them for free (no monthly fee). Then we learned that the bank closed our savings account: they charged all the money in 10 monthly increments for monthly service. When we came to complained to our local branch we were told that our local branch does not have the entire history and we should call 800 number; at the 800 number we were told that the history in not available either and we need to see a manager at our local branch. We were also told that our checking account is fine and no monthly fee is required to maintain it. Guess what? today we got a statement with a monthly fee; called 800 # - and heard again: we do not have your history, go to the local branch... which I plan to do tomorrow. Now I am looking to what bank/credit bureau we can switch to get out wells fargo... Wells Fargo's business practices are bait and switch and unscrupulous.
